  1. ya know...in the second picture it looks happy to see him too
  2. Last month I was able to pickup a case of 230 grain FMJ from Guns and Leather for under 300.00...but that was before the latest price increases.
  3. I think it looks great...now all we need is the logo engraved on some AR lowers :-)
  4. Why did I just get a mental pic of jcoyle6 sitting at the dining room table, cleaning his guns all the while staring at his sisters date for the evening...without saying a word to the poor boy
  5. When I get mine in hand...I'll have to let you take a run with it.
  6. The post office in Donelson isn't posted..I don't think it ever has been.
  7. I'm thinking it's about time to replace the recoil spring in my Pro CDP. It's got a one piece guide rod assy, that you use the paper clip to capture the spring for disassembly. Two questions 1. What would be a good replacement spring for the Pro model Kimbers? I've never had any feed problems, are the factory springs "ok" or should I go to the Wolff springs? How do you know what weight spring to use? 2. What's the trick in getting the recoil spring off/on the guide rod. I'm figuring off is pretty easy...point it in a safe direction and pull the pin what about getting the replacement back on the guide rod?
  8. Len...fun doesn't start to describe it :-) I can't wait until the funds clear. I've never tried to rush a client payment...until today.
  9. Put me down for a 5.11 button down shirt in 2xl (perfect for CCW) and one hat;flexi fit in the subdued color combo like the HK hat
  10. I could have ran through THOUSANDS of 9mm rounds with that bad boy.
  11. Went by this evening to meet up with Frank (ETS_Inc) to check out one of his AOW Rem 870s...oh I have GOT to have one of those bad boys. Recoil wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would have been..and I got to shoot a full auto AR as a bonus! My wife was NOT dressed for range time, but took her turn on the AR and ended up doing the brass dance..but controlled the AR during the whole episode :-)
  12. same here. I'll make a tactile inspection of my inventory every now and then
  13. Len ladies and gentleman...a true wealth of WEIRD information :-)
  14. then they should SPECIFY what constitutes the proper authorization. Ambiguity is their problem :-) that I DON'T see the need in helping them clear up
  15. no problem Len...I understand. It's almost 10pm and I'm running data recovery utilities on a client laptop.
  16. Here's what Len and I were discussing: The way I see it, the following must be done: 1) Get access to the TFA email list. 2) Get access to/generate a directory of middle TN members of TFA (mail, email, phone) 3) Set a meeting & publicize it. (MANY free ways) 4) Have a speaker. Possibilities: -politicians -LEO-types (Serpas or someone from metro/nearby) -Famous firearms advocate/shooter/maker (maybe Mr. Barrett or someone from his company?) -new product demos (bring in Joe from Hero Gear, have Buford talk about new APPS classes, etc...) 5) Have food/ask people to bring a dish. 6) Set an agenda for each meeting and for the group as a whole. What do we want to be? Social? Advocacy? Shooting activities? All/none? Typical meeting agenda: 6p-630: Meet & greet & eat/social half-hour 630-640 call to order, pledge, welcome, agenda 640-710 speaker 710-730 ACTION (what do we want to do next, set next meeting, set fun activity, etc.) 730 adjourn (people can stay and chat if they wish) Possible 2007-2008 agenda for TFA now-end 2007 --fun/social/guns/planning early 2007-June --track TN legislative session, be political in state June-end of year --fun/social/events After speaking to Tungsten...looks like we're pretty much on the same page
  17. I think you did a fine job of reporting on the meeting. We (Tungsten and I) I think drove home some of the frustrations we've all posted here...lack of any type of communication being one of the biggies. I left the meeting last night actually feeling pretty good about the chapter...instead of wondering why I wasted an hour and a half of my night again.
  18. Wonder how many tours will be extended now to cover the holes left by Blackwater
  19. So, I'm certainly not anti TFA or John Harris. I'm just disappointed that there isn't serious effort to decentralize the workings of the group. There need to be committees working on grassroots lobbying all over the state, not just one guy in Nashville who talks to representatives when he has time away from his job. These days, committee members statewide could meet in a chat room or using Skype every couple of weeks and plan activities. We could set up a room here on TGO to do that. Seems like TFA could do that too. AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. We can agree to disagree on the 1st point...but we're in COMPLETE agreement on the 2nd. If we...as a group don't do SOMETHING there won't be a Nashville chapter. I have to agree with John...it's sad that the capitol where all the decisions are made can't drum up enough support to have a chapter here.
  21. The anti OC fella sounds ALOT like Buford. Was he a rather LARGE fellow with white hair? Now...advertising on a stock car hood was going to be a CHEAP way to get the TFA name out to a large group of people that stereotypically are strongly pro gun. I don't remember what the cost was going to be...but for the amount of eyes on the target...it was way below market value. I remember when I took my class...John came to speak to us. I believe he was deeply involved in the writing of the actual law.
  22. I know....It took me several emails to track down what little info I DID get. Just run in...bowl your 300 and run out...time management :-)
  23. TFA Meeting 6:30pm Spet. 18th Academy of Personal Protection and Security 336 Hill Ave.Nashville, TN 37210 Lets get a good showing to keep this chapter from fading away
  24. With the right support structure, and a lil help it's VERY doable. You're right, John doesn't have the time to keep the chapter running..that's Perry's job. Loggging onto a forum, and posting a date/time/place for a meeting seems to be the 1st hurdle to clear the way it stands now.
  25. I'm planning on attending. Perhaps we can make our voices heard this time. I have to agree with Tungsten...it ticks me off to see the apathy all due to the fact the one man (John Harris) isn't available to help. It's like anything else...if you want it done right...we've got to do it ourselves. If we started a TN Gun Owners Association, we wouldn't have the lobbying efforts of John and the NRA behind us...which is what is needed to get the Hill to change direction on the matters that are important to us.
