  1. I am going to take my MSF class this weekend and hope to be getting my bike the weekend after as long as everything works out okay and I get some decent weather then Ill have me a new way of getting around. I want spring though slipping and sliding in a van is horrible in a bike it would not happen.
  2. I bought from them one of the swann systems with the ptz camera with it. That one camera will take place of 2 just by placing it right. Like what was said before you might be better off determining your locations and then getting the correct cameras for those areas. My system came with bullets but I had to get a dome to keep the wire from getting messed with. Bullets are good if they can be high enough not to be messed with. The networking can be done fairly easily but I am a IT engineer so that was the easiest part for me. The most PITA part was running the cabling. If you need a longer run and can have power close by using a cat5 balun to siamese will work for those longer runs.
  3. My wife got her a PK380 the other day. She brought it home and I showed her how to break it down and lube it up. We then took it to the range the other day and she went thru around 120 or so rounds without an issue. She likes it because it is one that she can rack the slide without it being a .22. It will just take time to see how it holds up. I hope that it is reliable for her.
  4. I live in Nashville, work in Franklin and have family in Mt. Juliet. Like everyone said stay out of Nashville. Im only here because of the house price I got. As far as the Franklin area is concerned during the week traffic is a PITA on weekends I do not know because I'm not out that way. I'm in Mt. Juliet on the weekends and like stated before that little city has grown way to quick. Providence area is a nightmare unless you know the back ways around that part of town. I would suggest anything around the 840 corridor. It is rural in most parts and that is a open piece of road almost all of the time. Just look for a place that has good land prices.
  5. That right there reminds me of a YouTube video I seen. He caught the hacker in the act and since he was in India he hacked his computer and held it hostage for the $199 that the hacker was trying to get out of him. I have not laughed so hard in a long time to see this scum get what they deserve. If you piss off the wrong people eventually you will get it back in 10 fold.
  6. All of these reasons above are the reason on why I am working where I am at now. I have almost an hour drive to Franklin every day but I get to do QA's, ETL work and even some tech sales parts. I am treating this job as expanding my experience into areas that I did not want to work in before. A year ago you could not of got me into a software company but now that I am I am learning more and even though I have not got a raise since I have started (over 6 months) I am still willing to stay for the time to get more experience doing IT stuff that I am not used to doing. It is kinda amazing that I am now being asked to do things that even the VP of the company won't do. This hopefully will make a mark and I will stay there if not then I will have the experience that I need to move on and get a bigger and better job.
  7. I agree with you and Nashville being a hot spot for IT but the OP is in east Tennessee so that might be more difficult. I don't know I have never lived over there. However, by what I have seen for the past 2 years contracting companies are the primary hiring companies for a good portion of this industry. It is crazy of how many companies call in the small company that I work for on a weekly basis just trying to get into the door. But the messed up part about it is I worked a short term contracting gig and found out that the employer was paying the contracting company double of what I was making. I thought wow it would be nice to get that much.
  8. I know exactly how you feel being in the IT field. I worked for the largest computer company here in Nashville doing tech support. Rotating 3 month shifts on a bidding process which sucked. I felt like they had sensors in our chairs and could tell when you got up just to stretch. I left that when i started to get my degree and worked for Comcast for a couple of years. I left them when they put trackers in the vans. I told them I was not going to call in to get permission to go and take a crap. I then started to work for the Opryland Hotel boy was that a big mistake there was as much management as was us. I was getting pulled in 30 different directions sometimes and when I was told to work over for 30 minutes by one person I got fired from another saying that he did not give me permission to work over. Then I landed at where I am at it is a low volume call center where I take 5-10 calls a day doing software support and it is M-F 8-5 but not alot of overtime so I am having to start make sacrifices in order to stay at a normal job for a while. I know this is a lot but I just thought that you would like to hear that all of us in our field go through this B.S.
  9. I really like the local range reviews idea. It would be nice to just come to here to see if you want to go to a range rather than going yourself.
  10. Hipower,  I live off of Dickerson Rd. but I live in a gated community here and it is quiet where I live. With my managers permission I could get over a dozen cars in here and really save on parking for everyone. Like I said though as it comes closer if I do get off then I will be going and I will post something on here. I would like a chance to meet some TGOers before I go anyways. Put a face with a name.
  11. I have both used interstate and optima batteries. I love my optima. I did not drive my car for over 6 months had to move it and the battery turned it right over. That was an optima yellow top.
  12. I used to have that problem at my apartment complex. I tried signs and talking nice to my neighbor and it never worked. I then one day brought home my work van which was a beater and sure enough he was parked like an A$$ he learned his lesson after he had to climb through his non-working passenger side door to get in. He came up and knocked on my door afterwards and said he would never do it again. I told him I hope he did not or I would have to bring my van home again. LOL
  13. I put it in as a maybe because of work but I am for sure going to try to go. Plus I have a 6 passenger van and live like 5 minutes away. Can I say TGO carpool anyone. If I am sure that I am going to get the time off I will post it on here.
  14. That is why I love this forum. I did not even know that. Now when I make my trip up there this spring I will probably just do that. Thanks.
  15. I think that this is coming into light more because of the lady that was a legal permitted carrier and she made a wrong turn and ended up in New Jersey and she then was arrested and all of that other B.S. She even stated that she was not planning on even going into NJ but they still did it to her anyways. I would not feel comfortable carrying anywhere that is anti-gun. When I have to go to Illinois for family reasons I leave mine at my uncles house in Indiana and do not carry it past that state line.
  16. Now that sounds like a good idea. However, will Osama sign it. I don't think so.
  17. When I watched it this morning I wondered the same thing if the gas block was going to go first. I was kinda surprised that the barrel blew but something had to fail but for all of those rounds it did last for a little bit at least.
  18. I was just there the other day and did not see that. I however just had my chainsaw break so I am out of the wood splitting business for now. Luckily I found a local guy that is selling wood for 60 a rik. That will be what I use once I run out here.
  19. I wish I just had a regular wood splitter. Doing everything with a maul kinda sucks. I have had to cut and split over 2 riks of wood in the past month and I can say it is a full time job it seems like. The only plus side is that I am getting a great workout. LOL
  20. Depending on which direction you are coming from Mt. Juliet or Lebanon has good prices if you get a room early.  If you are coming from the north side North Nashville hotels are not bad. They get bad reviews because of the location but anyone that is armed should not worry about that.
  21. Yeah after reading that write up above be thankful you do not have a Honda. My wife's Odyssey it was a total PITA. It was buryied in the middle of the block and a nightmare to get to. I miss my old 350 days too. That one took me less than 10 minutes. I loved older vehicles but the wife don't so it is what it is.
  22. Like what Grayfox said if it has a computer I would not recommend it. If it is carbed  however it should not matter that much. I had a old 350 in an S10 for a while and I had my thermostat go bad the other way and stick closed. I had to open it with the screwdriver method and that worked til I could get it home. I then took it out and forgot about it til about the middle of January when I wondered why my heat did not work like it used to I then remembered that I did not have one in there but the S10 ran fin for the time without one. So it all depends on if you got a computer changing things in there.
  23. That right there is why I have a security camera system that has vandal resistant cameras. Those themselves are high enough that unless you were 7ft or taller you would not be able to touch them. I like being able to be anywhere in the US with a internet connection and see my house and what is going on around it. A time or two I seen someone walking around my house until they seen the cameras and went the other direction. If they had not and tried to get in while I was there we all know what would of happened next.
  24. Sorry, I checked my two usual spots and that was a nogo. Do you even know if they are offering it yet because one of the spots I checked was their Amazon store and it was not listed as even an option on there.
  25. That is so true. Where I live and work I have like over 10 ranges that I can go to between the two places but I prefer the lower cost range if all I am going to do is practice. I was looking into the Nashville Armory but when I seen the price for me and my family to have a membership I turned around and went and found a place for half the price and the owners know us now and give us a heads up if they are having any deals and we got a renewal for our membership with a significant discount.
