  1. Thanks David. I always enjoyed his posts, but was concerned by a few of his last ones and wanted to make sure he didn't end up at the eternal shooting range with Marswolf.
  2. When I become president, I'm going to repeal 922r...........
  3. Yes, the full size SR9s all are now coming with the V3 triggers.
  4. 5. I was trying to say, keep your ammo to SAAMI specs and any chamber will work. If you decide to use non SAAMI ammo, then you can't count on a SAAMI chamber working. That's all I was saying. And seeing as how the vast majority of US manufactured ammo is done so to SAAMI specs, you should be fine, unless you use the few non SAAMI loads like those produced by SSA. Now, as to the benefits of the SPC II chamber, I won't argue that they should change the SAAMI specs to the SPC II specs, but until then, I will use SAAMI spec ammo in my SAAMI spec chamber.
  6. A recent thread made me think......How many people do we have here that wear or wore the Eagle Globe and Anchor....roger up Jarheads..and if you were/are a Corpsmans, you had better roger up, beacause we have all chewed the same dirt.
  7. Semper FI. The stumps.....have fun! since your with the bull go ask weapons company, sniper platoon about Gunny Coughlin. One of my snipers was with him during the invasion. ASTRA900

It's been over a year since Astra posted here. Does anyone know what the hell happened to him?
  9. Hell Halfpint, if you are on a "sponsored" vacation, I'll be right there with you................
  10. Chuck, or Charles or whatever you are going by now....lol.....let me ask the guys that I hunt with and whos land I hunt on........I might be able to get a couple of you down there. They are begging to get rid of as many doe as possible. Two years ago I shot 8 of them by myself. Hell, Kimber and I never have to buy beef, we have soooo much deer in the freezer.
  11. I take all of my deer to a little family owned grocery store in West Point. Hell, I dont even have to gut it, they do it all, and I think charge me $75 to turn it into whatever I want. And they do one damned good job of preparing the steaks and making burger......hhhmmmm hmmmmmm good
  12. Actually, any SAAMI chamber will work, unless you use one of the three ( i believe) non SAAMI loads from SSA. As to the M4 feed ramps, as said before unless you are firing full auto, it is a non issue. The original 6.8 SPC was developed by 5th Special Forces Group (again I believe) to function out of a standard M4 that was "slightly" converted. I just did a test with a recently intriduced 6.8 and it performed very well, all while using the standard SAAMI chamber and faster rifling.
  13. As for me, I like both systems. The DI system is simple, but the piston system runs much cooler, has less heat related stress on key parts and is much cleaner.
  14. Dolomite> you and I have seen eye to eye on several issues in the past, but on the first paragraph of this statement I will have to call bull**** on. I know, or at least understand it to be true that you have spent considerable time overseas, as have I and many others on this forum. I KNOW there is not a single person who has been in any type of situation "over there" who wouldn't clean their weapon after every range season, much less after several thousand rounds. I'm not calling you a liar, but......quit stretching the truth. If you want to extoll the virtues of a particular op system, then by all means say so, but please dont do it by saying that you never cleaned your weapon that you used to defend your life with.
  15. I have both the full size and the compact. They both have the version three triggers and are great. I actually like my compact better just because I can carry it easier and at least for me, I think it has LESS felt recoil than the full size. The only mods I would suggest, and plan on doing to mine, is to add night sights. I believe Meprolite is offering them at this time.
  16. I went dove hunting Saturday in Columbus, Mississippi with my Dad (he lives there) and we did well. I limited out in about 25 minutes then helped him get his limit. We were walking out of the fields at 5 till 8. Going to be cooking them up tonight.
  17. I usually do the vast majority of my deer hunting in Mississippi. They do not rquire any tagging or checking in of deer. Additionally, you can kill one deer a day, every day for the entire season. I hunt around Columbus were the deer are so thick, the game wardons are begging people to kill as many does as possible.
  18. Here is my brother on one of the local morning news programs. He suffers from cystic fibrosis, and 13 years ago recieved a double lung transplant. I am posting this to raise awairness that EVERYONE needs to become an organ donor. If a wonderful family hadn't decided to donate their thirteen year old daughter's organs, I wouldn't have my brother today. The Power of Organ Donations | MyFox Memphis | Fox 13 News
  19. O god........visions of TGODavid in assless chaps.........ugggggg
  20. Ohhh, moderator sensitivity....yes....I believe I heard about that on last weeks 60 minutes.........they said it's contagious, and must be avoided at all costs......
  21. Why do ya'll keep posting pics of my wife......Damned Mike, get over your fascination............Just kidding BTW I know I'm not here that often, but you have aroused my curiosity, What thread that is now closed and can't be mentioned started this one...........Inquiring minds want to know?
  22. Broomhead: A few years ago I found myself in a similar situation: long story short, while I was on active duty with the Marines, another marine shot me with an M16. Did quite a bit of damage. After some surgery, they referred me to a medical seperation board. The head of the board told me he was going to forgo the six month "wait and see" period and recommend that I be immediately discharged. Now, I know taking a round to the knee is nowhere near as bad as a spinal injury, but I told him I wanted to fight it. I went through two terrible rounds of physical theropy just to learn to walk right again........Fast forward a few years.....Because I was stubborn, and REFUSED to accept what the governemnt had laid out for me, I am stil in the Marines, although left active duty a few years after the incident and joined the reserves, and still have a fairly normal active life. My reason in telling this story is, DO NOT DESPAIR!!! You still have your life, after that, all other things can be overcome with some heart and a strong headed attitude. KEEP THE FAITH BROTHER!
  23. Last time I heard, and this was from the owner of a local range, Memphis/Shelby County is interested in selling the old county range at Shelby Farms.....Maybe we should coordinate a TGO group buy.......What do ya'll think?
