  1. It's like you want me to make a road trip
  2. Years back I installed and finished my hardwood floors . I went through at least 4 of their belt sanders in a very short time. It was the better option vs renting a sander or buying a commercial. Ironically ppl hammer them about cheap cheena products but few out there don't have at least some foreign mfg components in them. And I agree farmans faux panel is an excellent idea. No one will be the wiser and if a problem occurs down the road you already have access to that area.
  3. I've read about this on various sites and it's been mentioned more than once this was an option. However much like here I don't anyone truly knows or really wants to commit to a YES or NO . I keep hearing they wave the fee but you still have to do the paperwork for an sbr which many didn't want , hence the reason for the brace. See, clear as sewage
  4. Ah ok. I was wondering because typically duct is 4" or so. Unless you want to go cheap with a small hand saw id hit harbor freight and buy the clearance model i linked up top. Everything is looking great

  6. What diameter hole are you going up to ? In my opinion as long as the width and length of the bricks distribute the weight enough not to strain the hvac in other areas id say you'll be fine to leave it as is.

  8. I gotcha. So abandoning the existing outside hole and running parallel with the floor joists, the nearest place to make a new outside hole is still 10- 12' from the hole in the floor ?
  9. I'm trying to visualize your situation. Based on your previous post, the area between the hole in your floor and the outside vent may have a floor joist in its path ? I was wondering if it would be possible to cut an area in the ceiling large enough to install an elbow for a couple pieces of duct, minimizing the damage
