  1. Hate to hear it. Hope everything will be alright. Prayers being said. leroy
  2. I like it! We always need some "little guys" in the collection!! Keep up the good work! leroy
  3. Sky:__________ I would recommend ya stick with the single stage press and tools until ya get the feel for reloading. Progressives (...even the best of em--we have a Dillon....) can be an aggravation that tends to take away the concentration that i think is needed to do the reloading job safely. The best of 'em dont like the caliber change thing. We tend to load pistol rounds on a progressive in large lots; that minimizes the aggravation with doing the adjustments. For small jobs; say 200 rounds or so, we use the single stage. RE: Reloading supplies. WE buy em everywhere; and buy in bulk. Here is a partial list: Brass: Starch (...link here: Products ...) We buy "once fired" processed brass from them. Their 223 processed and primed brass is great. Trimmed to the right lenght, resized, and primed. Ready to reload. Their primed and processed 223 brass is the best i've seen anywhere; we've have gaged it with our gages and it is dead on specification and ready for reloading. All we do is chamfer the inside and oustside of the case mouth, add powder, seat the appropriate bullet, and crimp (...if necessary...). I would never buy 223 brass from anyone else; nobody is even close (...even the new stuff requires more work...). We have a pile of it. I suspect their 45 acp and other calibers are just as good. Highly recommended. Dont be afraid of "once fired brass". It works just fine and is a great value. Powder and Primers: We have used Powder Valley for lots of stuff (...link here: Powder Valley, Inc. ....). We just started doing business with em based on recommendations from Froggy here on the board. They have the best prices on powder and primers i've seen. The trick with this stuff is to buy a lot. That spreads out the cost of the obligatory "HAZMAT" fees and makes them reasonable. That being said; lots of folks worry about having "dangerous materials" in their basements, garages, and outbuildings. If you are worried about that; i would do business with Widners; they are great folks and are doing a great service for the reloading and shooting community (...its great to have someone like them in your back yard; i wish we did --- we are about 2 hours away...). You can pick up locally from Widners; and i think that is a great thing (...check their website for details; they do it only on certain days and you have to place an order beforehand....). Bullets: We like hard cast or plated bullets for our pistols and hornady bullets for our AR's. The AR bullets come from Powder Valley, Midway (...when on sale...) and Graff and Sons. We buy lots of plated bullets from Midway (...when on sale...). The best suppliers of hard cast lead bullets (... 44 mag, 44 special, 45 colt, 38 special, 357 mag...) we've found is this guy (....Leadheads Bullets,Gas Checked and Plain Based Bullets ...). He is delightful to deal with and makes a great lead bullet. We also like the Oregon Trail laser cast bullets from Midway (...when on sale....); the Rainier plated bullets from Midway (...when on sale...). You get the picture. The bottom line on all this stuff is to shop around and keep a pretty good stock on hand. We usually have at least 1000 rounds of stuff for pistol and AR rifle calibers on hand for reloading; that way ya dont run out. Stuff ya dont shoot much (...450 bushmaster or 357 hh come to mind...). We keep about 200 to 500 rounds of components around. Hope this helps and gives a bit of insight into where to find this stuff. leroy

  9. Harold:_______________ Others have mentioned Drudge; here are a few that are good: Libertarian Republican Top Conservative News, Opinion & Analysis Magazine - Townhall.com - Big Journalism Plus my all time favorite: IMAO - Nuke the Moon Be sure and read the essay; its great!! Hope this helps leroy

  11. Thanks for the great info. leroy
  12. I like it!! As my 21 year old is fond of saying: "....A commie killing machine based on capitalist ballistic designs..--- all at a price ya can afford!...". Keep up the good work! leroy
  13. Will:___________ We've got a couple of the #1 "Moneybelts". They are a folded design, sewn at the bottom. They are comfortable and look great. The one piece design essentially lines the belt on the inside. RE: Lined holsters. El Paso lines the holsters (...we have a couple of lined ones...) and lets the lining come over the top of the holster and down the outside about 1/4 inch or so. They look great and the lining can be re-done. All of our rigs are the old timey oil tanned russet. The holsters are the "original 1890" lined. We also have a couple of military style flaps. The build quality is great; and you simply cannot beat the "authenticity" factor. In the interest of "full disclosure"; some folks dont like el paso; they say that the customer service is not what it once was (...a son has took over...). For what it's worth, weve never had any problems. Take a look at the CAS forums and see what they say. Secondly, it usually takes about 90 or so days from order to delivery. That is about the norm for this stuff. Take a look at these posts for additional information: El Paso Saddlery - Holsters - THR As an interesting side note; the original El Paso Saddlery built holsters for the great Tom Threepersons, the legendary El Paso border lawman. They are, in fact, the fathers of the "threepersons" holster design. Hope this helps. leroy
  14. Wll:________________ We have several holster / gun belt sets at our house; at least four from El Paso Saddlery (....link here: El Paso Saddlery - Holsters ....) and one from Bob Mernickle (....link here: MERNICKLE HOLSTERS .....). As fond as i am of Bob Mernickle (...he is a delightful man and a great supporter of single action shooting stuff...); i like the El Paso Saddlery stuff the best; because it's oil tanned and i like the old time finish. Bob Mernickle likes the newer water based acrylic finishes for his stuff. I haven't ordered anything from them (...el paso saddlery...) in several years; but they used to be one of the best suppliers of period correct holsters and old time military holsters and gun belts available. Mernickle does period correct stuff as well as CAS fast draw stuff as well. I know this sounds strange; but i like the old Mills Pattern web type belts from the Indian Wars period better than the double thickness gun belts. Both El Paso and Wolfears Equipment make them. The belts are tough, good looking, and more comfortable than a double thickness leather belt (...we have used both the leather and web belt style gunbelts with our sets...); especially if you like the wide rifle catridge belt style (...we do, they look great...). Try this guy out; he makes the best i've ever seen: Wolf Ears .... . We have a couple of combination belts from him that have both 12 gage loops (...he can do any loop; rifle, pistol, or shotgun...) and 45 colt loops on it. It's tea stained to turn it a light tan to straw color that is the greatest looking belt i've ever seen. It has the old time "US" brass buckle on it. Best of all, its somewhat adjustable. You cant get that with the old time leather gunbelts (...except in the belt buckle holes...). All the guys listed above are great to deal with. We've ordered a ton of stuff from them (...especially el paso saddlery...) over the years. Hope this helps. leroy
  15. A longlide is a great thing!! If ya like 45's and the price is right; get it!! leroy

  18. I agree. I'd start looking here myself. Had the same problem with an old 86 full size blazer. I dont like thee self locking hubs either. They have a tendency to go bad and lock up at the wrong time. good luck leroy

73:___________ This may stir up a bit of a "hornet's nets" RE: calibers for the GM; but ya might want to take a look at the old 38 super. The super is a great alternate to the 9mm for the GM; and it's been around a long time. I think the real bonus is the super is a longer round, and that makes it more reliable in the gm platform. I've shot 'em in the old days (...before folks tried to make the 9mm work in a gm...) out of the full size colts and they shoot like a house afire. They are flat shooters, powerful, and reliable. I'm gittin a bit older myself and am thinkin of doing a ramped 38 super in a full size gm of some sort for consealed carry. It calms down the recoil of the 45 a bit --- easier on hands that are getting weaker. Food for thought. leroy
  22. sounds like good news for Gunsamerica. I've never used gunbroker; have used gunsamerica with no problems. leroy

  24. I like it!!! Go burn some powder with it and let us know what ya think. leroy
  25. I like it!! I got its brother (...i think it is the newer model; sadly....) in the gun safe. The model 37 is a great shotgun. I believe that the ithaca was what the winchester model 12 should have been. That's pretty serious company! Enjoy! leroy
