  1. Everybody loves the P30. Where did you pick it up?
  2. I'm a 9mm fan over the 40, but have you considered buying the G27, then getting a 9mm conversion barrel?
  3. I believe the Neos is made by Beretta.
  4. Ah, come on. We all know you've got Mickey and Minnie trudging through the snow. It's alright, we won't laugh much. I know some guy that thought he could take a step out onto a seemingly frozen cattle pond today, turns out he was wrong. Well, he took the step, but it wasn't as frozen as it looked...
  5. I've got an AR, and an SKS (same x39 round, for those of you playing at home). I also have some cinder blocks, and need something to do on this snowy Saturday. What type cinder block did they shoot? One of the big ones with the two holes in it, or one of the short, solid ones? What distance?
  6. Just finished off the last of a bottle of Irish whiskey here, time for bed... Come on, snow...
  7. Mind if I ask what HD that is? Too drunk to shovel? Sounds like you need to hire a guy with a tractor...:D
  8. Not an age thing, for sure... Must've been a different forum, or I wasn't paying attention. One or the other, for sure. I don't recall the discussion here, but you've got the group.
  9. Depends on how one defines 'worth doing'. 'Treacherous' conditions, mud, ice, snow, etc? I call that a fun challenge. Then again, I may just not know any better. Besides, without a challenge I get bored, and that's no fun.
  10. If I give you the chorus, I may as well give you the whole song. I'm sure I'm not the only fan of that type music here, someone can get this...
  11. I enjoy doing the jobs other guys won't do, just to prove it can be done.
  12. Wrong on both counts, friend... "...Whole crowd was soakin' wet, Mud all over Momma's dress, No sign of the sun, A sure fire sign of things to come..."
  13. They won't even try to make it in? I'm tempted to drive over now, just to prove it ain't that bad!
  14. I'm a basic member. I may misunderstand the Life memberships, though. I thought once you paid the fee, either all at once or by installments, to be a Life Member, you didn't pay anymore. I don't like that idea. If I support an organization, I want to be actively supporting them. I don't think the NRA gains much by having my name on a list as it does having my money every two years. Then again, what if I decide to stop supporting the organization for any reason? I'm still on the roster as a life member, even if I'd stopped any extra contributions. I prefer to support the NRA, and a few other groups, on a shorter basis. They wind up with more of my money, and when it's something I support I think that's a good thing.
  15. There was a big discussion on this not long ago. I don't recall the details, but I believe that the general consensus was that, in the state of TN, no insurance company will pay for damages caused by an intentional shooting, regardless of what any instructor or salesman said. Why would one need insurance, anyway?
  16. I've never heard of a study guide for the HCP test. Everything she needs to know should be covered in the class. The shooting test isn't overly difficult. If she can put her shots into a life sized silhouette target at about 15 yards, she should be able to pass it. I don't have the state required number or shots at specific distances handy, but its not terribly difficult, even point shooting. If she can't put most of her shots into a silhouette target at 15 yards, she needs to practice more before carrying. Don't worry about it. Pick a class, sign up, and then wait for the permit in the mail. Just out of curiosity, what made her decide to get her permit?
  17. If anyone gets over $100.00 for a snow shovel, then I have the deal for you. I will bring a tractor, complete with front end loader and rear blade, and clear your driveway of snow. Prices vary depending on distance, but if a shovel is worth $100.00 to you, then how much is it worth not to even have to get out of the comfort of your chair, and still have your snow removed?
  18. "...Can't trust the weatherman, makes his living on a lucky chance..." Two points if you can name that song without Google.
  19. I never get snow. Looking at less than an inch here currently. I'd like to get a good, deep snow just once. I've got the woodstove, the generator, and the tractor. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
  20. I have. It will have a big enough shock wave to move the grass 50 yards away. It's loud, but I doubt it will bother anyone unless they're within a couple of hundred yards. I highly recommend you try it at least once, if you have a place to do it. If you have enough land to safely shoot on, I think you should be okay.
  21. Wow. Most of that just looked painful.
  22. I have no problem shooting lead. If my 9mm didn't have polygonal rifling, I'd load lead for it, also.
  23. I'll be the dissenting voice, and say don't get a Lee Turret Press. I bought the Lee Turret Press kit, and have had several issues with the press, and have called the factory three or four times. While their service has been pretty good to resolve the issues, the issues shouldn't have existed to start with. I would start off with a single stage, even for 9mm and .45. The single stage is simple, cheap, and you can always use it. With a turret or progressive press with a powder thrower on it, it can take a few minutes to change calibers or loads. Kind of irritating if you only want to load 5 or 10 rounds to try a new load. If you decide you need a faster press, you may not be happy with the speed a turret press provides. I have a 4 hole Lee turret, and am looking to move to a Dillon 550. You might want to skip the turret stage entirely.
  24. The one in Gallatin is on 31, in the shopping center near the Dos Margaritas restaurant. http://www.sumnerguns.com/ Why did someone get banned from the Smyrna show?
  25. There's another new one in Gallatin, in the shopping center across from Miracle Ford. Has anyone been to the Armory in Lebanon yet? They're over on 231, just up from Lowes.
