  1. +1...Virginia's a heck of a lot more gun friendly.
  2. Arlington Mayor is an idiot for: 1. Posting anything like that on the internet, thinking it was safe. 2. The Charlie Brown conspiracy is really out there.
  3. Option 4...keep Sig and get a 1911.
  4. Post pics please!!!!
  5. Good job StPat! We need more females in this game. Gun people are some of the best people on the planet! Front site!!!
  6. +1 on this comment. I hate to hear people say the HCP is their first class. They make me highly nervous on the range, especially the one I go to that doesn't have the cinder block compartments. I think it's everyone's responsibility to take a couple of classes beyond (before?) the HCP. To me the HCP doesn't even count.
  7. Let her qualify with the 9mm. The less recoil will help the case of nerves she'll likely have. Doesn't mean that's what she has to carry once she gets the permit.
  8. I agree OS. As much as I like Glocks, they should be ashamed for calling that a safety. My brain is the safety on my Glock.
  9. Thanks OS. Looks good. Yeah, I'm not big on the DMB belt loops anymore. Use the metal clips or the Kydex. Got another DMB on the way. They're good, but the loops sit kind of funny. Also starting the 6 month (ha ha) wait on a Milt Sparks VM2. We'll see how those loops do. Didn't mean to divert this thread, sorry.
  10. Yep- good points...agreed. See the other Taurus threads here. The price hooks people.

Yikes...was it used, how much so? CZ owns DW. A good condition DW for 700 is a real bargain. Better run back there and check.
  12. Got to agree with OhShoot & CK1 here. I don't know how many threads have been started by folks new to guns coming up with Taurus as their first choice. I swear the local shop owners must have one helluv an incentive to sell them, and they latch onto newbies (no disrespect here btw, we are all newbies in some regard). I'm sorry, but I've heard more bad Taurus stories than good. I'd save up a few more bucks and get a Glock, XD or M&P. I've got two of those 3 and can't say enuff good about them. Even better....save up even a little more money and get a decent 1911. In retrospect, that's where I wished I'd started. 1911's rule....
  13. Hey OS...who's the holster maker here? Not a DMB, right?
  14. This thread just needs to be made a "sticky". It keeps coming back to life every few weeks.
  15. Is it for carry? What's your pain-point on price? Lot's of good choices in 9mm, and at least you can find ammo, unlike .380. Some good ones mentioned above, but there's others.
  16. What a disgrace. I'd report this guy to his superiors in the PD as well as the NRA.
  17. Don't have anymore. Turned them all in at a police buy-back. You should have seen all the quality weapons people turned in. What great deals! They'll give you $50.00 for a like-new Glock, AR-15...!!! Boy I'm in high cotton.

Cool...see your other OP. We're doing a dance here...ha ha. Welcome to the DW brotherhood.

    1911 advice

Oh, I see you took the DW plunge. Saw your other OP and thought you were still on the fence. Agree w/ Neener. Best 1911 for the $. Do check out the 1911 forum here, in particular the DW sub. Lots of OP's on "prep" before shooting, etc. DW's are really tight and need some special care during the first few hundred rounds. 1911Forum - Powered by vBulletin

Save some bucks and get the Heritage. 'Ats a good lookin piece.
  21. Welcome aboard, from the wrong side of the state. The models you mention might be attainable used, under 400. Good luck.
  22. David, feel free to close this tired thread. All it's doing is dividing us.
  23. Of course this is all assuming you can find .380 ammo.

Have heard nothing but good about the Heritage as well. Fyi..DW is coming out with several line changes in 2010, but with price increases. If you're looking to save bucks, you may want to go with the Heritage.
