IMHO, a firing pin safety on a 1911 (i.e. Series 80) is overrated. Makes for a more complicated detail strip as well.

+1 here. Rock Island also makes a good-un for the price. Glad to see another 1911 addict on the way.

Good move. G26 is a good gun. May want to consider Pearce mag (pinky) extension to get a couple more rounds. I shoot mine about the same either way.

Ha...you mean Guns and A__Holes! The guys at the one in Memphis suck (except the old guy who covers the revolver area). The guys at the one in Southhaven are much nicer. Smaller selection, but good people.

Yeah Jack, I was thinking he needed a 10mm 1911 to shoot those wild hogs. But then...there goes the price right out the window.

CK1, $20 per 50 of 9mm sounds pretty high for the "orange box". Last time (a few weeks ago) I paid $15 per box at range here in Memphis. Personally I like the stuff. Have used a lot of it. I'd say I've only seen a couple FTF's. Nothing else. The thing is I can usually find Rem or Win boxes of 50 for $15 too, and I know they ain't reloads. It's more of a convenience getting it at the range. Have used it in all my 9's. No other caliber experience with it.

Glad yer fixed up CK1. Hang in there on SW. If I had to choose between them, I'll keep my MP9 over my Glock. Been flawless since I got my back from SW. Glock's reliable as well, but does not shoot half as well.
