  1. I don't know how in the world it got through. I'm reading The Federalist Papers now again, and have recently finished Newt's book on Washington's crossing of the Delaware and the battle right after. Absolutely facinating, but again, how they did it ALL is amazing. I agree with Lagerhead in that some of them KNEW or feared that the Federal Govt would become what it is now. This was the biggest argument against it. One thing about ole George though, not only did he have an incredible ability to lead men, he also had a way with words. I'm reminded of a quote I have from him on my wall at work,"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. To secure peace, security, and happiness, they rifle and pistol are eually indispensable, The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good."
  2. Ran across this online and thought I'd share it, lol. Are Tinfoil Hats Less Ridiculous Than We Thought?
  3. Doesn't take much, for her to do that, lol.
  4. Side note: The original story apparently was reported by Brad Thor...Ive read several fiction books by him...great author, very factual.

Seems like I read that the S&W ARs are actually made by someone else and branded S&W...is that true?

  8. RAF Lakenheath was where i was...loved it. 7 of my 20 in the USAF was there.
  9. I think I saw one opf these at the last Nashville Gun Show...if not, then it was an AR looking 410...
  10. Welcome. I'm from the Soddy-Daisy area too, but now in Nashville. I lived for 7 years in England...out in Suffolk and Norfolk.
  11. Please tell me more about this...i HATE the cost of Bersa magazines. One can sometimes find a deal on XD mags. What ,mods are necessary tomake them work? Also, would the new 19 round XDM9 mags also work?
  12. Sorry if this is in the wrtong place, but I have to go to Centennial this morning to be with a friend. Is it posted? hate to have to run back to the car after I get in...
  13. I also like that method for carry, except I dont usually carry right aAT 6...more to the right a little, maybe 5 or even f...but it feels much more natural for my wrist that having the handle the opposite way.
  14. I knew Col Kittinger back in the mid 70's. He was the vice Wing Commander of the 48th TFW, of which I was a a part. To be honest, I don't remember hardly ANY Vice Wing Commanders from my USAF career, but I remember HIM well! he was a larger than life Colonel, even at that age. I remember many times when we were playing those infamous "War Games" that the Fighting 48th was so well known for, the AF cops caught the worst of the duty, putting in many long hard hours on the flightline, longer than anyone else. Colonel Joe was there with us, at all hours of the day and night, with an encouraging word. He was gruff, always had a bit up cigar stuck in his mouth, but always did what he could to make our lives easier and we all liked him...I can still remember standing with him on the taxiway watching the "elephant walk" as just about everyone of our fighters took off on simulated combat runs after a week of hell.
  15. I could support him, and would if he got the nomination, but he isn't my first choice at all. Also, I heard Raplh Bristol on WWTN 99.7 this morning put in better words something I've been saying since I realized that I helped Bill Clinton get elected by voting for Ross Perot. He siad, and I'm paraphrqasing here, that "if you are a conservative, and you vote for an Independent instead of for the Republican nominee, if you then think you are helping make America more conservative, then you are fooling yourself. You are only really helping the liberals get more power." I'm not a Republican myself, at least philosophically, but I think that Ralph was right. What we need to do is encourage and support the truly conservative candidates so they get the Republican nod, then elect them. At the same time, the liberal Repubs must be swayed to become MORE conservative.
  16. I've also read of favorable results in tests of the 9mm versions as well, and I have personally seen .38 cal reovered bullets with perf3ect expansion of everey round.
  17. WTF is wrong with this guy?? He's essentially saying American lives are not worth as much as the lives of others..
  18. VERY well said! I spent 20 years in the USAF and they for sure erased any vestiges of racism in me. The black people I served with had similar values as me, similar goals and similar standards of right, wrong, and decency. Here in the "real world", things are much different. I see racism daily in the news and locally. Civil rights may have been a great issue and way over due...but that donesnt mean we should have gone PAST equality like we have, to the point that color entitles you to a "pass" simply because you are black. I read a book once by a black radio talk show host named Ken Hamblen. One passage he wrote said that, and I paraphrase, "The American Dream is like a big footrace, where the officials lined up the blacks and whites, firted the gun and said whites go now...then later on said now blacks go! of course the blacks will never catch up, so the officials then give blacks bicycles, so they then catch up...but after a point, fairness dictates that the time must come when either they all get bicycles or else take them all away. The time for special help or even copnsideration based on race is long past." Lyndon Johnson's Great Society concept just hasn't worked. America's welfare entitlement society has helped a large segment of our society to learn that they don't have to work or be responsible for themselves and their families. The government, or the "wealthy" will take care of them. Perhaps THIS is the true racism in America today. Perhaps THIS is what emasculates the black males to the point that fatherless black homes are the norm. The entitlement society is killing our country. The bottomless pit of our money is nearing the bottom,, and more and more people are becoming increasingly unhappy with this, as well as being labeled racist if they disagree with a black person.
  19. Got a box today, thanks for the heads up, Daniel.
  20. Are you getting in a fair amount or a smidgin, lol? Also do you know how much you'll sell them for?
  21. Me too...haven't seen them at all yet in Middle TN. Found the other calibers, but not .45 ACP.
  22. Does being published in Newsmax make an article less valid somehow? The article was actually an AP article that was published in many different venues, both print, online and on TV news.
  23. I also got it and then another one in respionse to my blistering response to it...he IS full of it. I'm tird of overeducated idiots thinking they know whats best for me...
  24. I saw this over the weekend, and if I had read this thread, I woulda saved my money! Seemed to be just an anti Bush administration attack throughout the movie. I try to take a time out from politics when I see a movie for entertainment, and this one won't let you do that. The previews I saw beforehand didnt portray this as a leftist propaganda vehicle. Had they done so, I wouldnt have went.
