  1. Semper Fi, Marines.
  2. That pretty much sums it up!
  3. I recently renewed my permit, and it took quite a while longer than I see people on here getting initial permits, so I called and talked a nice lady there who told me that the initial HCPs were pretty fast, but that the renewals were WAY behind...she couldnt tell me why, but she said they arent allowed to do anything until it had been in their system for at least 45 days. She told me that if the B/G check wasn't ran in that time, THEN they could go in and manually run it. She told me to wait until after that 45 days had passed and if I still hadnt heard anything, to call back. I waited until the 46-47 day point and called, and the lady ran my number and said no nothithings back yet, let me manually get it dione, and then said I would have it in a couple weeks. I got it the NEXT week. I KNOW those folks are understaffed and overworked and I think they do an amazing job considering that.
  4. they have a bar but they also sell food...not sure which they are technically...they also used to have a no guns sign, but it wasn't the legal variety.
  5. I swear it was THIS big!
  6. A Keltec P-3AT in my pocket and my FN-45 ACP within easy reach!
  7. I had a PT-11 Milenium Pro, Generation 3 9mm. I did a lot of research before buying mine, and after. Most all I read was that there were issues with gen and 2, but not hardly any systemic ones with the gen 3. Then there was a version marketed for Commiefornia (the one that came wiwith the 10 rd mags), that the was sold by Sports Academy here, that even the Taurus customer service guy in Miami told me to stay away from, lol. I liked mine but didnt think it very accurate except a very close range...but the main reason i sold it was the size...I wanted a full size 9mm and a pocket size 9mm..the 111 was not really my idea of a full size high cap gun, nor did it fir well in my pocket. Good gun overall though.

I have a Bersa Thunder 9 Pro High Capacity 9mm. It is a full size 17+1 model, so its big, almost as big as my FN-45, but it's the best 9mm I've had, especially for the price. I really like it alot.
  9. Well, the dealers at places like the gun shows say they are fully legal...you don't think they are biased at all do ya? lol.

I've read of many problems with breaking in one of these...many have reported they need a "Fluff & Buff". But I bought one earl;ier this year and have had absolutely NO problems with mine at all! I carry it as one of my backups daily and occasionally as a primary carry when I cant get away with anything else. Just watch the price you pay. They are all over the scale, both new and used. Do research online, also check out the Kewltec Users Group online for info. Make sure you know which generation you are getting, 12st or 2nd...and if you are patient, you will see one reasonably priced used, and maybe even new.
  11. Well, I dunno about Avon, but real men use this: http://www.4voo.com/makeup.htm OKOKOK! I was KIDDING!!!
  12. After trying everything from a waist bag made for a gun, to several Maxpedition bags, and now am using a Maxpedition small one strap gearrslinger backpack...it will hold many of my must haves, the two full size handguns and a smaller backup along with extra ammo for alll of them, plus has room for my lunch, a book and other needs. I added a couple of clip on pouches to it and its bigger than I like but it works best so far...and I've noticed that MANY guys, well younger guys anyway, carry backpacks everywhere so although its a military looking style, it kinda fits in, in a way...lol.
  13. What kind of magazine? I used and sometimes still do use a horizontal cell phone puch to hold my smaller mags. I also picked up a nylon double horizontal at a gun show recently. It has adjustable loops and is quite comfortable with my 2 .45 ACP doublestacks.
  14. That was a good thing to do.
  15. SO I was returning from vacation yesterday and was almost home..driving on Briley and was unwittingly speeding...when in my rear view mirror did appear the blue lights of financial expense. It was one of Metro's finest, and I resigned myself to paying for my inattention with a nice fine. The officer politel asked me where I was going in such a hurry. I replied that I was going home form vacation and wasnt in ahurry, just inattentive. He asked for my DL and I handed it to him and also informed him that I had a carry permit (I hadnt decided to that point if I would so inform if stopped, it was a spur of the moment decision). He replied thats good, everyone should have one! He asked a couple more questions and sent me on my way with a warning. Needless to say I was pleased, but to be honest, I was as pleased with his pleasantness as with not getting a ticket! He was professional and friendly, not just polite. I can't help but wonder if my HCP contributed to not getting a ticket...probably not, but still I wonder...
  16. Got there at 10, shopped, spending way too much money, then enjoyed the speakers, the best being Ronnie Barrett and Nikki of course. Didnt really dress for the weather so I waas outta there by 2! Thanks to David and all the rest who organized this...Like to see it again soon!
  17. What exactly did you do? Was it difficult to do?
  18. I paid more for a similar one earlier this year. Is it a WASR 10?
  19. I'm not sure of the actual numbers, Glocks may outsell many, but those who love their 1911 style pistols love them with an enthusiasm that is very emotional. Especially in America. Americans love Colt 1911 with a passion that exceeds the true value of that design. I think the design is a wonderful one, and I like mine, but I also admit that its one of those things right up there with Mom, apple pie and the American way! lol
  20. The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance controls issuing of the Armed and Unarmed Security Guard Licenses. For Unarmed, see: Private Protective Services - Unarmed Security Officer/Guard Requirements For Armed, see: Private Protective Services - Armed Security Officer/Guard Requirements There are many trainers out there, but I would recommend you do lots of research and use a trainer that provides indepth instruction. There are good ones and bad ones at both ends of the economical scale. Security Officers have no more powers than any citizen does, so you MUST be thoroughly indoctrinated on the law.
  21. I could use those!
  22. No I havent had a chance to shoot it yet, I can hardly wait! I will post a range report when I do...only downside so far is there arent a whole lot of accessories for it...only found ONE holster manufacturer, BladeTec that markets one...and the mags seem to go for 38-45 each. But it came with 3.
  23. Why can't I do this? I'm usually good with computers,...I posted the pics to Flickr as well as photobucket, neither seem to work. :-(
  24. Bersa Thunder 9 Pro and a FNH FN-45. ]
