  1. Recalibrated my Franklin digital scale - which then reset to grams instead of grains.   Fortunately I caught this one about 20-30 rounds into the process. No puller at the time, so I used pliers. Threw the mangled boolits into the casting pot.   Since then I always double check charges, whether by weight or volume.
  2. I've only managed to clip the rods on my pro chrono 2-3 times - all with the snubby, go figure.   And nothing broken, only bent the rods.
  3. At Jimtown, scored a 100 round box of .22LR HP Mini-mags this morning. $7.27 plus tax. They had some Fed .233, but I'm sure it's all gone by now.
  4. And spelling - it's all about the spelling.   ...and grammar.
  5.   With 9mm Luger brass, I found that even after the expander and sizer die steps, it still has an hourglass shape. Just enough to grip the trim gauge, and this causes the brass to slip in the shellholder. Shaving a little metal off the gauge pin solved the problem for me.     IMO this is a non-issue except for anyone except Glock's lawyers. YMMV.
  6. Sorry, Spots, I hoped to come, but my granddaughter's birthday party comes first.   Hope there's more to come. I'm only about an hour away.
  7. Bass Pro the only one I know for sure - if in stock. Since BP is an explosive, most dealers don't want to deal with the storage requirements, etc.
  8. Once "I am in fear for my life," I will remain so until that threat is secured by law enforcement. I don't expect the threat to morph into Little Bo Perp just because he may be wounded. And I'm not getting close enough to find out.
  9. I'll take the guy with the knife over the two guys arguing semi vs. revolver anyday...;)
  10. You mean to tell me they had dog bones?!   ;)
  11. Nice! I like my CZ's, and my P-64 too.   I use the Lee trim gauge shell holder in my cordless drill. Not the fastest, but it works. The gauge pin is too fat for Luger brass, I chucked it in my drill and turned off a bit with a file.   I've had good success with cast boolits too: Lee's mold drops right about 100-102 grains. The smallest Lee scoop, 0.3 cc,  of Bullseye is about 2.8 grains, never over 3.0g; it's a safe load and cycles in all my 9x18 guns.
  12. You can torque the Lee decapping pin tighter to remove crimped primers, but at a somewhat greater risk of breaking the pin. That said, I've yet to break one.
  13. Glorious Day - especially since the lady who sings that song with me at church was back after having surgery just a few days ago.   Living He loved me, dying He saved me, Buried He carried my sins far away; Rising He justified freely forever, One day He's coming back, O Glorious Day!
  14. That reminds me:   When I was an early teen, a girl up the street married a guy with a early 70's Dodge Charger. He skipped on the girl and the car payment, and left her mother with the car. She drove it for several years - never over 35 MPH!   I can still hear that cammed up hemi idiling down the road.
  15. Pic looks the same as this: Lee 4 Hole Turret Press Value Kit   $120 at Midway (dealer price) but with Cabela's free shipping to store, may be a wash - not to mention Cabela's has it in stock. Add dies, powder, and primers. And books - if I only had one, it would be Modern Reloading by Richard Lee, especially with your Lee press. And when you choose powder, most manufacturers have current load data online for free. It's always good to double check, as I've found an error or two in dead tree data.   Lotsa good info on TGO, and several more experienced reloaders willing to help. I've learned a bunch here.
  16. Another idea: use plastic drywall anchors for .22LR snap caps.
  17.   From ATF Online     Did Mr. Kelly try to buy the rifle for himself, or to turn over to the police? His own statements are contradictory. Any, I'm just asking the question, not answering any more, IANAL.   BTW, does DBS have a shredder?
  18. This is getting curiouser - from Fox News:     So he underwent the background check, but did not complete the 4473. How does that jibe?
  19. Chap-stik cap works for trigger too, although no reset. Just cap it loose, then pull til it snaps.   Weedeater cord makes a decent boresnake for rimfire. Use a lighter to melt a ball on one end and use to push or pull 3/4" patches thru.   Guitar string ("G") to clean nipple on BP guns.   Bic pens, pencils, and lighters are a good source for small springs.   WD-40 on cast bullets before sizing, enough to keep from leading the sizing die and not as messy as bullet lube. Then tumble lube as usual.   All I can think of for now.
  20.   Because they cancelled the sale before he could lie on the 4473...at least it sure looks that way.
  21. Good grief, this man is everywhere:   Gabrielle Gifford's Husband Pulls Daughter's Dog Off Sea Lion In Laguna Beach   Follow the link, you wouldn't believe it if I told ya.
