  1. Anyone else but me wonder why they gave us all cameras and GPS on our cell phones in the first place? :tinfoil:
  2. IMO, get the P-64. A set of Wolfe springs make it a viable EDC.   If you really want a Tok, Aim has some Polish TTC's available. Tempted myself...     EDIT to add: I succumbed to said temptation, just placed the order!   Garufa, my Romy is also a POJ. Shoots, but cannot rack the slide unless the hammer is cocked - strange.
  3.   Good money to be made in contagion futures.
  4. Maybe they can get a job involving fries and soda....no, wait...Bloomie don't like that, either.
  5. Well, the brass dried in the sun most of the day, then a couple of days indoors, then sizing, etc. Didn't notice any moisture, but anything's possible.   Thanx to all for your comments. Definitely helped me think thru the process. I'm not completely convinced as to any one cause, but I'll try a few more now before giving up on Tula.
  6.   (1) No (2) possible - a couple of primers did need a little extra effort to seat, although all are seated flush. As I said, brass was not the best, but was clean, wet tumbled in detergent and used primers - the poor man's wet tumble media. Also, the Dan Wesson strikes a bit light, but not so with the Handi-rifle.   Curiously, both squibbs has enough "ummph" to push the bullet into the bore, but failed to ignite the powder.
  7. NO = Unique was everywhere when I opened the action on both squibbs.
  8. I picked up a k of TulAmmo KVB-9 small pistol primers a few weeks ago, just because. Yesterday, I loaded 60-something rounds of .357 magnum and .38 special; mainly to use some dented brass and sub-par cast boolits. Some of my brass was already primed, and I tried the Tula primers for the rest, about 40 rounds. All with a 158+ SWC over a nominal load of Unique.   I fired all the .357 rounds in my Handi-rifle without incident. I then switched to my Dan Wesson for the .38's  I had one dud round in the second cylinder. Tried the round in the Handi-rifle; still a dud.   A few rounds later, I heard "pffft" instead of "bang." The dread bullet in bore. I didn't have a cleaning rod with me, so the revolver was done for the day.   I switched back to the Handi-rifle for the few remaining rounds. The last round was another "pffft"; another bullet in bore.   So, out of 40 Tula primers, one misfire and two squibbs. My guns and I are glad I was paying attention.   So, what to do with the remaining 960 commie primers - blanks, maybe?
  9. Some people are predisposed to park on the sidewalk, and walk in the street. Since there were no vehicles on the sidewalk, they must have been outside their neighborhood.
  10. Marriage is a fine institution...that is, if you like living in an institution.   Congrats!   Prayers for you, the job, the engagement; and TGO will be here when you get back.
  11. I have a Kolster for my CZ-82. Two belt clips is too much hardware; and the butt's too fat - both mine and the CZ's!   It was comfortable enough, but I would need a cover garment to make it work for me.
  12. Ruger LCR in .357 Magnum, for all outdoor activity not related to hunting. I opt for 158 grain XTP's if in bear or hog country. Fiocchi's Extrema works really well in the snubby, better than the Hornady factory load IMO.
  13. I'd build a breeder reactor gun, which produces a bit more ammo than it consumes.   In .22LR, of course!
  14.   And with hex Mosin's, seller would have to remove the stock to verify the date on the tang. Too much trouble for most retailers. Of course SG would probably turn around and get $498 for them!
  15. I use a 158 grain XTP over 16.5 grains of H110, which according to my chrono virtually duplicates Hornady's factory load. H110/Win 296 is problematic when undercharged, particularly is standard primers are used, resulting in the dread "bullet in bore" stoppage. Do NOT reduce loads more than 3%, per Hodgdon's website. And use magnum primers.   OTOH, Hornady's manual takes H110 into unsafe territory, IMO.
  16.   Glad you highlited that in red for me, for as Camp said, there will be blood.*   * Speaking in terms of political rhetoric of course. No actual scum or villians were harmed by this bit of hyperbole.
  17. More Campfield - this on park carry - There Will Be Blood.     I know we've made some gains, car carry is big...but still feeling more than a little betrayed by the triumvirate of Haslem, Harwell, and Ramsey. Now if Haslem vetoes car carry...
  18. Wife and I had a batch this afternoon, deep fried and crispy. Yum!
  19. I've used the oven method for Nagant revolver brass with some success. Place a thick metal pan in the freezer for an hour or so.  Stand the brass upright on the pan. Add 1/2 inch or so cold water to cover the case heads. Put the whole shebang into the oven under the preheated broiler for 15 minutes or so, adding more cold water if necessary. No need to tip the brass over; just keep the base cold.   This probably won't work with thicker rifle brass, but it's just the ticket for the tricky, paper-thin Nagant brass. Before, I'd have 2 or 3 split cases out of 50. The annealed cases load without splitting.
  20. Heck, I like them all. Millet ain't too bad, either.
  21. Hawke Sport HD $75 at Midway and a really good scope. I have one on my Remington 597.
  22. I have some Wolf Gold and Priv Partisan in 7.62x25 Tokarev. Same stuff, same velocity, brass is even identical.
  23. Regarding your second question: Dale Hollow is Corps of Engineers, as is all of the Cumberland River watershed. TVA covers the Tennessee River and tributaries.
  24. I'm not aware of any reloading dies that produce the fluted heavy crimp seen on some magnum and +p loads, and at or near the base of the bullet.   Two types of crimp for the reloader, both applied to the case mouth. Pistol rounds use a taper crimp to close the case mouth after the bullet is seated. As Raoul said, this removes the belling formed by the expander die, adding only a slight inward taper to the case.  If you can see it, you probably crimped too much. Revolver rounds use either a taper crimp, or a heavier roll crimp which rolls the case mouth into the cannelure on the bullet.
  25. 'Nutter rumor at The War On Guns:   Russia Cuts Off Ammo Imports?   Stocked fairly deep on surplus - I've recently focused more on reloadable ammo and components. All set on 38 Nagant, 39, 54R, and 9x18. No dies for 7.62x25, but do have a couple hundred rounds of boxer primed Wolf.   Edit: David, that tends to pretty much confirm your "supply side" info.
