  1. It's amazing he has a Judge who seems fair through this "####show" and may I add I hope he and his family have taken precautions as the threats are coming in.
  2. I'm leaning towards sabotoge also if dummies and live ammo were indeed mixed into a box however..... This alone does not excuse the armorer from checking and rechecking the gun and ammo as well as every other safety procedure being followed. Only the armorer being dismissed from the set by her employer for the day and someone else handling the gun by breaking a locked safe etc., would perhaps excuse her part in this.
  3. For me the Ice Pick twisting around in my kidney/Back area feeling was the worst part. Only IV drugs stopped the torture. Feel a twinge every now and again like another small one is forming or moving. A ticking time bomb waiting to strike at the worst most inconvenient time possible.
  4. So many players, people walking off set, the AD, the Armorer, whoever was plinking, the actor/producer, the victims, the mystery person who brought/bought real ammo on set, the other person who had gun safe access, the person who last loaded the gun and probably half a dozen more assistants and gophers who might have had a chance to access the gun. Hints coming out this loaded gun might have been done on purpose to what end? Lots of possibilities. Gotta be multiple charges coming up, can't imagine the money and resources thrown at this. A nightmare hassle for the law.
  5. On the handler sorting side of things.... It's a PT hourly job with not great pay and crazy hours. 2nd job for many so turnover is high. Lots of college students too that graduate and move on. Package numbers are way up since Covid struck, plus all the folks moving to TN and now peak holiday season has arrived. It's shocking how antiquated the whole sorting process is. It's going to not get better soon.
  6. Many stats floating around so please correct me if wrong but just 3 gun deaths in all film history? One perhaps suicide? Sounds hard to believe when you think of the gun comedy era of Abbott and Costello or three stooges and all the freaking westerns and war movies and shows of the 50s and 60s. All those multitudes of extras in war epics handed a Nazi uniform and a Mauser and told to run this way or that, point over there. Nobody shot. If true I can't believe it's all because actors are so safe and gun savvy or dumb luck was on their side. I mean guns and film sets have been more safe than anywhere else with guns it seems statistically. Hollywood had gun safety with dumb actors figured out to a tea till fairly recently. Baldwin's production broke all the historic basic rules and all that was left to save the woman's life was the dumb actor? Baldwin and his lawyers will play up dumb actor and play down his producer role. Best hope is he goes broke over this and is shunned by Hollywood forever.
  7. Watched a highlight or two from yesterday. Anyone notice yesterday the bearded witness on video evidence was grinning quite openly when the prosecution was fumbling over exploding/expanding bullets? He was a Veteran I believe and no one else in the Jury was when the Judge asked. Hopefully they at least have some basic knowledge of firearms so as to decipher all the anti-gun misinformation being spewed. Misinformation designed to paint kid as a ruthless killer out for maximum damage.
  8. For sure, he even has a sympathetic Judge but his answers to the prosecution's lame questions... The kid is a bit goofy, pretend EMT etc. and put himself in a bad situation. Could play bad with Jury even though shootings were justified. Won't watch more except highlights. Wife doesn't like me yelling at the TV.
  9. Rittenhouse isn't explaining himself very well. I / we all understand deadly force and why, how and when you shoot but the jury may not.
  10. Never justify a fellow firearms owner's negligence, agreed. Never justify a business relaxing gun safety like the little girl with the full auto UZI awhile back who lost control and killed a guy at that business either. It's quite possibly an accident in some cases if the shooter is ignorant and he does not own or didn't steal the firearm. It's Negligence if shooter is a gun owner or has knowledge of guns. If an actor claims he is ignorant of all aspects of firearms and the Production didn't properly train them on basic safety, then on top of that hand a hot gun to him and say it's empty.... Sorry, I just don't see any jury convicting them. This case if fair, could be different. Baldwin being part of the business/production should have known about the guns and rounds used on the set. And if he knew and still shot someone then he might go down.
  11. No doubt if these steps were followed all would be well. Just like many workplaces I've made a living at, the management usually skirts the rules. The vast majority of employees are none the wiser. If the actor is never instructed then it's on the production if death or injury occurs. Sounds like Baldwin ran an unsafe workplace. Perhaps as he knew this and also pulled the trigger justice will prevail. On a side note Balwin and his wife living it, up dining out etc after this Is disgusting. His wife's anger at the press questions during the impromptu interview, extra disgusting.
  12. Highly outraged? Yes I am but you gotta consider the context. Movie making is where adults playing bang bang with guns is normalized and basic gun handling logic is suspended. Or at least left in the hands of those delegated to safety on set. Instead of Baldwin who I dislike, I think what if some 18 year old unknown bimbo starlet was put on the set and handed a "safe prop gun"? Never using a gun before in her life. The experts said here, shoot. It's perfectly safe. If she killed someone I doubt the outrage would be on the actor. System sucked and maybe Baldwin the experienced actor should have known better. Certainly as Baldwin the producer. Average actor though with the system that was in place? Not guilty I'm guessing.
  13. According to YouTube experts lol... Actor checking is encouraged or optional. In a period gun like this or any revolver where dummy rounds need to show for the camera, checking means basically loading it yourself or together with the armorer. Something I would insist on. Actors span the spectrum of gun knowledge but in general are probably absolutely ignorant on guns. So they trust the production crew, director etc. Maybe this will now change?
  14. If the scene requires pointing at the camera and pulling the trigger then the actor points and pulls. If actor believed/trusted gun was empty or set up with dummy rounds because person in charge said it was....Then that actor won't be charged. As with any other actor, B movie starlet to seasoned combat war movie A lister in this situation. Baldwin the actor? off the hook. Baldwin the producer? Sounds guilty. If Baldwin the actor, producer knew Assistant Director had no business bypassing armorer by handing him a gun then he is very guilty.
  15. If the Armorer was not present and was bypassed in some way. Just like a stolen gun is used in a crime. It is possible she is not at fault. Not enough info yet to hang anyone.
  16. Best practice would be only an empty gun brought on set personally by armorer from a secure place. Then checked and loaded as needed under observation by a second assistant armorer or someone else trained on gun to double check. And for good measure the actors involved invited to observe. Scene over? Armorer collects, empties and secures gun till needed again. This situation where the gun was picked up off a cart by a director and handed to the actor is insane. Someone or multiple people need jail time.
  17. The terminology is inconsistent on the news clips but live round now is only a real complete round I guess. Question: without looking at the gun pointing at you how do you easily know if the gun has blanks, dummy rounds, or live rounds in a replica gun like that. No swing out cylinder and just a loading gate access. I guess dummy rounds so camera can see bullets showing out the cylinder. Crimped blanks would look odd. Are the dummy and blanks different enough from the back? Snap caps are red for example
  18. Realtor and occasional real estate investor nearly 5 years now with a PT side hustle that covers our health insurance. Emphasis on the word "hustle". Prior to that welder/fabricator and a host of jobs too numerous to list.
  19. Some have been saying the crew was plinking with real ammo in that gun. Perhaps the Baldwin victims were among the plinkers? They didn't deserve being shot but it would be ironic. Leaving a loaded gun unlocked is a crime in some States nowadays. Another possible charge/crime against anti-gun Hollywood with a law they push on the rest of us. I'm guessing some cell vids exist of the plinking sessions.
  20. Anti-gun Hollywood types are in a bubble and have demonized gun owners, the NRA and anyone who has knowledge that would have prevented this. They in fact have, (dare I say), CANCELLED them. Insulating yourself from people who you disagree with can be fatal. If you have avoided guns and people who use them all your life maybe you should take a moment and educate yourself before you play act with them.
  21. When all this gets confirmed then yes, on that level he should be found guilty. On the actor level...stupid YES but no charges will be found against him.
  22. Not if you were a paid actor and John and Steve were in charge of handing you a safe prop gun. With the limited info released so far other than being stupidly naive about danger and failing to educate yourself about tools of your trade.....No charges because you followed the minimum weak requirements set out by the film industry apparently. As more comes to light, if corners were indeed cut because of Union squabbles etc., Baldwin being more than just an actor in this production may very well face some charges. It's hard as a person familiar with shooting firearms to put yourself in the shoes of an idiot actor who has no clue about guns except movies. Dislike the man but won't judge him just yet.
