  1. I support the TWRA with the smallmouth bass plate.
  2. Got printed on 3/24. I called 5/1, they said paperwork was done and 7-14 days for the envelope to arrive. Permit arrived today 5/7. It seems turnaround is right around 30 days from prints submitted. The call at around 4 weeks seems to bring your paperwork to the top for completion.
  3. Hi everyone, Lately when I'd go to the range, I can fire 100 - 200 rounds before my hands get tired. I am usually rock steady (at least for a while) My right hand (dominant hand) begins shaking just a tad after that. Today after I fired just a few shots through my 1911, then went to my 9mm, my right hand started shaking pretty bad. I couldn't calm it down no matter how tight or how lose I gripped. I can certainly hit the target at 7 yds, but I don't know what to do to calm it down. Am I weak and out of shape?? Thoughts? Comments?
  4. My IE 7 is showing that as well. I felt guilty about it until I saw these posts.
  5. Another vote for Wilson Bank and Trust. Truly local. I'm a member of Ascend - I do not recommend them.
  6. hit this poll POLL: Should DHS chief step down<br>for targeting patriots as terrorists?
  7. Great job getting your thoughts across! I thought the news station did a good job of fairly balancing the story.
  8. What are the odds they'll reassess our property values after they've depreciated in value?

    Walmart?

Same experience at the franklin wally world. Funny, the guy working the counter at the same time as this woman let a guy buy two boxes (what was left) of particular ammo. I go to Dick's in Mt. Juliet and buy all I want. Same for Lebanon Walmart (when they have stock).
  10. Dick's Providence Mt. Juliet. Remington 9mm 115 gr FMJ $11.98 box of 50. They had plenty. Also they had a sale on 45 auto Remington 230 gr 230 FMJ. This was as of lunch today. Make sure they ring up the correct price.
  11. I went to the Outpost this morning. I called ahead looking for a Ruger LCP. The guy I spoke to said that, yes, they showed they had one in stock so off I go on an hour's drive breaking lawful speed limits to get there. I get there and everyone looks puzzled when I mention that I'm here for the last LCP. They admitted that they didn't have them and hadn't had them for a day or two. I understand oversights and mistakes, but I was just a tad irked. They were very nice to me, profusely apologized, were absolutely nice & helpful, and offered to put my name first on the list for next batch. There was a guy there that offered to take a little off of anything I was interested in. The shop is new and I'm sure everyone is learning to work together. They had a wall full of AR's and lots of Glocks but nothing else under the glass that I was interested in. Anyway, I took the wad of cash I had burning a hole in my pocket and went down to Hero-Gear in Winchester and bought a nice plinker from Mike. The end.
  12. Our state lawmakers are bombared by special interest groups and lobbyists. We can't drop what we're doing and go the state capital to meet with law makers, but the other side can and does. I urge all of you to send each of the Judiciary Committee members a brief and direct to the point email (with facts and good arguements) supporting your view. Use good logical points. Do not be confrontational, but use good arguments. Do not write an email while you're angry or upset. If the representative is on the side of gun owners, then your email (with your brief points) can be used in committee to argue in favor of the bill. If the representative is not in favor, then your email serves as notice of how you feel. Believe me, the more feedback they receive, the stronger their position is. I assure you, the other side is letting them know as well. Don't read this and not take action. Here is link to the House Judiciary Cmte page. http://www.capitol.tn.gov/house/committees/judiciary.html Include the House Bill number in the subject line of your email. It makes it easy for them to group their emails. Best regards
  13. My bud and I saw a stage coach gun here in town the other day. It has two safetys on it, plus the hammer pulls. It was made in China I believe, but it was neat looking.
  14. Thanks! that's good enough to go on. I've passed this on to my bro.
  15. Thanks for posting. I got a good friend looking for one of these stage coach guns. Why? he just wants one!! What's the name of the shop, I'll forward on to my co-worker. thanks!! -Duane
  16. Wow! Nothing like posting stuff like names, birthdays, and addresses to convince folks to get their HCP and be legal. I think the end result of the Commercial Appeal is to force folks to carry illegally without getting a HCP so they won't get their names published. The dummies at the Commercial Appeal don't realize that criminals don't give two hoots about the law and carry anyway and criminals aren't in the HCP database. So, in the end, they (liberal media) are making things worse, not better. They are punishing those who respect the laws. How un-American!
  17. Thanks for the info!! I've forwarded this to the breeder we got our Golden from.
  18. Lord have mercy!! I just watched that vid from '78 and found I didn't blink for five minutes and I was breathing heavy!! Wow!!
  19. Regardless of what side of the aisle you align yourself with, Williams will always be known as betraying his party and this will be a distraction until the day he goes home. He has no respect now in my opinion. This will only hurt the business of the House.
  20. I recently lost a hard drive on my main home desktop PC. I never thought about a hard drive failure. It hadn't been backed up in a year. I lost all the photos from our camping trips and the kid's track photos. The wife was hurt for weeks (and mad at me) I got more RAM, a new hard drive, upgraded the software and I'm back in biz. I need to get one of those external USB hard drives for backup like right now.
  21. There were some thefts in the Wilson Count/Sumner County area where a guy and his bud were stealing trailers and back ho equipment and selling them at an auction in Knoxville. I hope the perps that stole your trailer don't have a moments peace for the rest of their lives. Nothing worse than a thief, except maybe a liar.
  22. I am a new gun owner. Bought my first handgun this past weekend. Frankly, I was nervous about going into a gun shop. I went into Guns & Leather in Greenbier TN on Friday around 2pm. The place was packed and I got the last parking place. There was a crush of folks in the store. Seems like everyone knew everyone. It was loud with all the chatter and phones ringing off the wall. I stood at the counter perusing the 1911's. I knew they were busy and thought I'd just wait my turn. A couple of minutes later, and older fella (well a few years older than me) came over to me and asked if he could help. Super nice guy, think his name was Mike. He made sure I was getting to see what I wanted and he answered my questions. There were a few folks there that seemed impatient and somewhat crowded the counter a bit, so I backed off. Mike still kept his eye on me to make sure he was available to me. Guns and Leather is definitely on my approved shopping list! I didn't see what I was looking for but I'd go back to them. On Saturday, I made the trek down to Hero Gear. First, Joe is the man! Also, kudos to Mike who helped me with accessories. Joe gave me the 1911 101 class at the counter, even though the place was full of other customers. He took his time and walked me through the different 1911 models. I found a used Kimber I just had to have!! I know Joe and team are there to make a living, but I felt I got a very fair deal. They have fun and they love what they do. I met the gunsmith too, who also fits in with the group. And yes, the Ferrari and the monster F250 Soupa Dooty are parked out front! Hero-Gear is on my most preferred Mid TN gunshop. (Joe, I wished I could have taken home the SIS 4" like Mike wears) All that to say that all three shops I shopped treated me courteously and with respect considering I'm a green horn at this. I didn't see anyone being brushed off or mistreated or ignored. They know we have choices.
