Look ... I honestly don't see much hope for a positive outcome here. Your expectations are unrealistic and the origin of your complaint seems to be a sense of entitlement. I'll be glad to refund your Benefactor status, delete any sale ads that you may have posted, and wish you a happy life somewhere else if you agree that there isn't much chance in TGO satisfying you.

There are too many factors involved in situations like this for us to make a one-size fits all policy to address it. That is why we have buyer/seller feedback as a tool for people on TGO to use. When you post that you are interested in an item, it's normal to expect the seller to at least respond to you - but the fact is that they are under no obligation to do so, and your act of expressing interest in the item does not constitute some sort of contract with them to sell to you. There are plenty of good reasons why either party in a potential transaction might want to back away from the deal, including the right to exercise their personal discretion / gut-instinct if they feel that some part of the transaction is suspicious. I do find it somewhat strange that three different sellers have done this to you, so I would like to know more. Use the feature to report the threads in question so that we can look into it.

There are numerous studies showing that transgendered people are fourfold (or more!) more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety than those who are content to stay within their biological swim lanes. Of course, every good statistician knows that you can use statistics to sell a lie, so there are also studies that chalk the aforementioned depression and anxiety up to the way that transgendered people are treated by the rest of society, and not to the fact that those people suffer from other things that caused them to want to put off their natural gender identity and "become someone else" as an escape or coping mechanism. To me, when we seek to justify aberrant behavior through confirmation bias, we have stopped trying to help someone recover and have become guilty of enabling. This usually is followed by a patchwork of psychotherapy that seeks to ease the pain rather than heal the wound. Treating symptoms versus treating causes. I'm sure these statements will be super unpopular with some people. The truth is pretty offensive at times.

I forgot one more important point: 7. Never get in their car. Never let them get into your car. If it's cold, rainy, sweltering hot or otherwise ####ty weather outside, it should make for a quick transaction. Dr. William Aprill of Aprill Risk Consulting used to say that you had to know ahead of time what lines you weren't going to cross so that you knew when to start fighting. For him, being put into another car or having someone enter his car was where the line was drawn. I agree with him 100%.

Vet them through buyer/seller feedback here on TGO. Never meet after dark, if you can at all avoid it. Always meet at a well populated, well trafficked location. Most police stations and sheriff's departments are perfectly fine with you using their parking lot for this. Some even have designated parking spots FOR online sales handoffs. Discuss with the buyer/selller ahead of time if anyone else will be present so that there are no surprises. GO ARMED. Be ready to use it if you have to. Don't leave it in the car, in the glovebox. Keep it on you. LISTEN TO YOUR GUT INSTINCTS. Be willing to drive away if ANYTHING feels off about the setting or the situation at all. The possibility of resulting negative feedback or hurt feelings are completely inconsequential. Your instincts exist for a reason, so trust them. And one last tactic: I have, in the past, gone to a rendezvous and taken my own backup with me. Another person who I knew I could trust to handle the situation if it went sideways. They were armed and as skilled or more so than I am. I circled the lot and let them out nearby so that they could monitor and quickly respond if things got ugly, but far enough away from the rendezvous point that they weren't easily spotted. Basically, learn to think like a predator. Think like a bad guy. Think about what you would do if you were up to no good, and then think about how to circumvent that.

I've enjoyed the C2 more than I enjoyed my P, and I really liked the P. It was just heavier than I prefer for carry purposes. The grip reduction and stippling on this grip module has allowed me to really say that I love the way the gun feels in my hand, though. While it was a small change in overall circumference, it was enough of a change to make a big difference in my enjoyment of the gun. It will probably prevent me from spending the money on a new CS, actually. I see no reason to anymore.

While my first instinct is to give you a temporary vacation from TGO until you get over this, I'm going to be nice and just give you one warning to let it drop. The choice is yours.

Is this still happening?

Alright here's another submission from me: The FN 509MRD. I no longer own this particular firearm but I would buy another if the opportunity arose. These guns have practically everything that you need in a fighting handgun: Ready for a variety of optics with a good, strong mounting system. Excellent grip texture to maximize control. Grip size is customizable with three different size backstraps. Forward cocking serrations on the slide. Good trigger with good reset. It gets better with use, too. Excellent accuracy thanks to a quality barrel, which is crowned at the muzzle. Glock 19 sized. 15-rd mags. For some reason these don't get much love. FN's marketing isn't the best, but this gun is worth your consideration.

Glad that fixed it!

Brother, if I'd known you were one of them having troubles I'd have just given out my phone number.
-
@FUJIMO if they're still having troubles, have them send an email to david at tngunowners.com.

I just purged our server's cache so maybe that will fix it. If not, I need to know if they are getting any errors, or what they're seeing exactly.

Thanks gang! I'm really happy with how it turned out and it feels even better than it looks.

I thought I'd show off some work that I had done to a spare grip module for my Staccato C2. A gentleman named Zach, who posts as "Grip-It-Customs_" on Instagram (do note the trailing underscore in his name) did this for me last week and I couldn't be happier. Not only is the texture that he laid down perfect for EDC use, but a byproduct of removing the factory grip texture is that the overall circumference of the grip is slightly reduced. Since I'm a size-medium glove wearer, this translates into making the gun really fit my hand better than it already did. And for comparison, this is an old photo of what the gun comes with from the factory... I really couldn't be happier. And since the grip modules on these, while not exactly inexpensive, are replaceable it's not like I have permanently altered the gun in any way. Anyway, I feel like this is an example of plastic surgery gone RIGHT. Lord knows we've seen some stipple jobs on TGO that, no offense meant to the owners of those guns, looked like someone's dog had chewed on them for a few hours.

I missed this fact, as some of you may have as well. Silicon Valley Bank wasn't the only one to tumble last week. Signature Bank was also cut off from additional funding and was taken over by the FDIC last Friday. After Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank, fears of more banks collapsing grow: Live updates (msn.com)

The year ahead is going to be a rough ride, financially speaking.

I'm not one to argue with firsthand experience. @CKerwin, thank you for sharing your own experiences. What you described is pretty alarming.

I've owned several XDs over the years. I jumped on that bandwagon really early when Springfield began bringing the HS2000 into the United States under the XD banner. So, bear in mind that I really want to be more of a fan of them than I am. The bad news is that they just do not hold up well under use. I've had the roll pin work out of the top of the slide on two Tactical models in multi-day hangun classes. I know that anything can break, but this happened to both guns in settings where we were running a 1,000 round course of training. When it happened, they both went down for the count and the only "fix" was to send them back to Springfield. I don't know if Springfield has changed its posture on this or not but they used to refuse to sell/send spare parts to the consumer for self-repair. My own experiences aside, several very reputable trainers (Aaron Cowan at Sage Dynaics, for example) keep their own log of what makes and models of handguns fail mechanically in their classes. Aaron has said on several occasions that the Springfield XD has a VERY high rate of failure. I want to say a higher rate of failure than any other handguns in his classes. I don't consider them to be "duty ready" guns. They might be fun for the range, but I wouldn't carry one.
