  1. My two favorite teams are the Cowboys and whoever is playing the Nashville Oilers.
  2. 1. S&W 1911 (traded a Glock 23 and some $$ for it) 2. Thanks! 3. Don't know if I'll write an article this year--work is stomping my ass right now (I've been home ~45 minutes) and I can't really think of a central theme anyway. Someone definitely needs to send something to the Tac Journal, though. Larry set up too good a match not to brag. Got any ideas?
  3. Thanks. Now to get that CDP gun up and running...
  4. Thanks to all the Middle TN folks who came--it's always good to put a name with a face. Tad
  5. Sounds like it's privately owned and not government property. The employees don't wear uniforms. I'm definitely no lawyer, though. You don't have to enter the lodge to get water, but hot chocolate, "I Hiked it in 2010" shirts, hats etc. are available inside. Whatever you do, please don't call and ask if they are posted--if they are not, your call will probably remind them that they need to post.
  6. at Tri State Regional Championship - Tri State Regional. 134 shooters and counting. Hognut and gsbell, I'll be on stage 10. Holler at me! Tad
  7. Willaim Forstchen's book, One Second After, dealt with an EMP attack. It's worth the read.
  8. I wouldn't mind a semi-auto, but I see a lot of them that don't run. I think every semi-auto shooter in our squad yesterday had issues at some point. Man, you can spank some steel with a semi-auto, though.
  9. I hate to hear that...LOL I was in squad 2.
  10. Shot my first 3-gun match yesterday and had a ball. I figured I would stink up the shotgun stages, and I proved myself right. I used a Mossberg 590 w/ a bead, a slick-top Smith M4 w/ a Leupold CQT, and a 9mm STI Trojan. I held my own with the Smith and the STI, but struggled with the shotgun. I haven't had it long, and I found out that I either need to change how I shoulder it or get a taller bead--it shoots high. I'm tempted to look for a taller bead, because I was consistently high w/ slugs and birdshot. I also need to practice shotgun reloads (who doesn't?). Also, I realized that I need every option possible in my range bag for storing shotgun shells. I have a side saddle and a Cal Comp Works 4-round holder on my belt, but need more options. What do you guys use for shell storage?
  11. best ATV ever made.
  12. See you this weekend...I'll be running stage 10.
  13. I have observed 9mms numerous times.
  14. In the world of defensive handguns, Glocks and 1911s are two of the easiest platforms to shoot quickly and accurately. They also have the widest availability of accessories and parts. Thus, you will probably hear mention of both quite frequently.
  15. I knew no such. I don't read minds, but I also don't jump to conclusions at the mention of a vest.
  16. BLASPHEMY
  17. Unless you have hands like an NFL offensive lineman, I would look at the 21 SF instead of the 21. It has a trimmed-down grip that fits us non-NFL types better. The last thing you want is to have to reach for the trigger.
  18. We may be twins...
  19. Bring your own gun to what? Is this a training class? If so, I would want to get that training with the gun I'm going to use, not one I'll probably never shoot again.
  20. That kid will be absolutely cutting heads in five years (probably less). Congrats.
  21. +1 I got to Sharpshooter w/ a G23, then switched to a G19. Don't know what type of 9 you have (if any), but like gsb said, it's the shooter, not the gun.
  22. No you wouldn't, because I'd have an untucked polo the rest of the year. Mike never mentioned a season.
  23. Baloney. I wear a fleece vest throughout much of the fall/winter/spring, and I blend in with probably 50% of other males. Fleece vests are popular and I bet you wouldn't think "where is his camera" if you saw me in a store.
