The Legislature is back to work in Nashville..
The Rabbi replied to Fallguy's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'll gladly take one thing at a time. The second bill is a firm step in the right direction. Let's focus on getting that one passed. -
I had a P32. It was crap. I couldnt hit anything more than 8-10 feet away with any reliability. It was ammo sensitive and broke on two occasions. I happily sold it. It seems that Kel Tecs are either good and work well or they're bad and they don't. I've heard of plenty of happy satisfied Kel Tec P32 owners. I just wasn't one of them.

Pikers. I personally fly to Jamaica and climb up the Blue Mountain to the highest point. I verify this via GPS. Then I hand-select the beans at their ripest. I bring them home in a temperature-controlled pouch. I roast them slowly using the latest in scientific equipment to measure progress. The I grind them using blades made from AU6 steel because 4140 just doesn't taste right. I brew the coffee with triple-distilled water that came from melted glaciers that formed 1M years ago. The temperature is monitored until it is exactly 100C. It is filtered through silk parachute material. I dont pour it in a cup but use a glass straw so none of it gets cool or acquires an off taste. And I do this every morning because I am just so *******ed sophisticated.

There is no bottom or top part. There is a carafe. You pour both coffee and water into it. The top has a plunger with a screen at the bottom. The screen/filter filters out the coffee grounds and traps them at the bottom. You can get them almost any size you want.

Only if you're a pervert who makes money by moving his fingers across a g-string. A French Press is a device where you pour the coffee and water into the pitcher. The you put the lid on and push down gradually on a filter, trapping the grounds in the bottom of the pot. http://www.amazon.com/BonJour-3-Cup-Unbreakable-French-Press/dp/B0001K1878/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1199716573&sr=8-5

Coffee percolator: bad ju-ju. Try a French press instead. Or as we call them in our house "Freedom Press."

Shoulder holsters generally suck. I got one, an expensive Galco Jackass rig, for a customer (thanks Hero Gear!) for his SIG P220. He hated it. It wasnt fastened securely so it tended to flop around. Yeah, they look cool but thats about it. I feel the same way about ankle holsters but for different reasons.

Right handed but left eye dominant. I do what Len does, keep the left eye sort of closed but not really. In fast work though using an Isosceles stance it doesnt matter. If you use a Weaver you cant your head to one side.

Except a .357 in a 2" gun doesnt make a lot of sense. You are also limited to 5 shots in the SP101 frame.

Taurus PT25 Magazine Reassembly

Care to post a pic of the pieces? Maybe I could tell from that. How hard can it be? (famous last words, I know). -
GCrookston, I must be doing something wrong because I am lucky to get 15%. And it isn't just me. I know the average mark up on Beretta's is about 5-7%.\ FWIW, on the base model Glock, dealer cost is $440. That is Glock's policy and I havent found anyone selling them for less. So take the $515 sales price (and that's more than I charge btw), subtract 440 and divide by 440 leaves you about 17% Of course the way to figure mark up is as a percentage of sales price. So 75/515 is about 14.5%. If someone is getting 25-40% on his new Glocks I want to meet that person and shake his hand.

Absolutely. The GP100 is a nice gun but no one's idea of a concealed carry weapon. And if the 327Federal is too much you can load .32 H&R mag, or .32 S&W long, or .32 S&W short, or .32acp.

I would be curious to see what people think the percentage of the dealer's shelf tag on a new gun (e.g. a Glock) represents gross profit.

I hate gun shows.

I can sort of tell by the approval numbers that come back. My first two of the year were something like 705 I think. Dec is a busy month for Xmas. Jan is a busy month for tax refunds and Xmas gift money. Feb is a busy month for tax refunds. June, July, and Aug are usually pretty dead. End of Aug things pick up with dove season opening. Added to that is the spectre of a Democratic victory in the White House. I have had a couple of sales of AWB specials because of this. One guy ordered 6 AR lowers. (He has yet to pick them up and I may be running a special on these). I can't wait for Hillary to get the nomination. Sales will really peak when that happens. Sort of like Y2K all over again. With about as much repercussion.

No, I think you need to get the FFL, get some commercial space, internet connection, phone connection, etc and open up doing transfers for free. Heck, I think you ought to sell guns and ammo at cost too. After all, dealers often discount guns to their cost just to move an item. Why should this be any different? You ought to be on the hook for loss or theft or damage of a gun in your possession before the customer picks it up. You ought to be responsible for sending the gun back to the seller in case the buyer flunks the background check. You need to explain to the customer what happens when the gun he bought comes up on the stolen list and why it isn't your responsibility to reimburse him even though you're the one who has taken the gun. Yeah, DaveTN, open it up: Dave's Free Gun Emporium, We Will Never Be Undersold.

And I think 4 1/2 % is a fair rate on a truck loan.

I had a customer complain his jammed a lot with FTFs etc. I took it out and shot it with crappy but factory ammo. It worked fine. The gun is very unforgiving of limp wristing or bad shooting technique. I liked it, except for the fact that it pinched my pinky between the mag and the bottom of the frame. Probably a different floor plate would fix that. Lots of muzzle flip of course. It is so far the only Glock I would seriously consider buying and carrying.

Well, ummm. Nice artwork by Oleg.

I've got a CZ 550 varmint. But no 10 rd magazines. You wont find that unless you go to a semi auto. And then you probably wont get the accuracy you want. If you get the accuracy, you wont get it for the price you want. So pick 2 out of 3.

King of the load is 158gr +P LHP, the FBI load.

I can't account for every single post here. The difference, in my mind, is that people here are concerned with their own safety and that of their families. The militia types are out to save the world from the Brown Menace.

I'll bet they have Handgun Carry Permit Badges.

Both. Graduate degree in Latin and Greek. I was all set to be a professor somewhere and then realized the job market stank.

I felt I was crucifying him already just selling him the thing.
