1. See what happens when people make assumptions! LOL.   Thanks sirdanny. Much obliged.   Link is now bookmarked and verified.
2. I'm lucky to have a decent job these days wOlfattack. :pleased:   I believe at one time, fairly recently, David and Sam had a website listed here. I had bookmarked it, but the link went dead. I have to assume they closed their site.   I know they are hard working folks and I appreciate what they do for our community.
3. Our thoughts and Prayers for a full and speedy recovery. Prayers are also out for the family. God Bless.
4.     I have absolutely no doubt you are correct, and I look forward to meeting David and doing business with him. I definitely wish to support our members and keep my business dealings as local as possible.   My circumstances have me working every other weekend....Fri-Sat-Sun 12 hour shifts. It seems that I work each weekend David is at one of the gunshows in East TN. My circumstances aren't likely to change (I gotta work  ), but I hope that my weekends may coincide with David's being in the region. I have a feeling I'm not the only person in that situation.     David's reputation for fairness and honesty is second to none. But I need to keep reloading and shooting until that opportunity presents itself. So I'm thankful there are alternatives available and that members post the info here. :2cents:
5. Suspension of disbelief my Friend. It should be entertaining. :pleased:
6. Anybody a fan of Lights Out by David Crawford?   I heard about this today on Spirko’s “Survival Podcast”.     Lights Out Saga website     Heroes Will Rise   While I found “One Second After” top tier, I thoroughly enjoyed “Lights Out”. I definitely hope this comes to fruition.   It’s my understanding that the movie will be in 2 segments, possibly 3. I believe there is definitely an audience for this.   Time will tell. :pleased:
7. Things appear to be opening up just a bit. Over the past couple of weeks I've been able to pick up Federal Small pistol primers from Midway at $27.00/1000 and Tula Small Rifle primers at $20.59/1000 at Graf's. Of course there's the Hazmat fee and shipping. Both of these were via e-mail alerts and Gunbot.   Mind you, you have to pretty much be sitting at your computer when the info comes in, but it looks better than it did a month ago.         I guess I've been fortunate, but I haven't paid panic pricing for anything, and don't plan too either as I've been putting a bit by month to month since the last madness .   Good Lord Willin' I won't eat those words! :ugh:  LOL
8. Sorry to tag this on, but PSA has some 7.62x39 as I type this. It's at $.35/rd or $6.99/20.   Not great...but available if you have the need. I'm good, but it seems plenty of folks are still looking...   7.62x39 PSA
9. It's a crying shame, no doubt. But at least there are a few folks left in Colorado with some integrity.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj2VbhuICeY&feature=youtu.be       As with any unjust law, there is in fact a Duty to disobedience.
10. I actually saw that earlier this morning...and laughed.   This too shall pass. And a lot of us will remember.
11. Steve's pages is an excellent resource. I've download a metric s***ton of manuals from there. :pleased:
12. Good grief. The talking heads will do or say anything to raise the drama level.   I don't fault the shooting range spokesperson...insurance and liability are a consideration for all ranges. Just don't ask-don't tell...   But the public at large is relatively clueless and will buy into this garbage.
13. bigwakes;   The Enemies Trilogy is excellent and downright prescient.   I ordered Bracken's Castigo Cay and it should arrive today. I'm looking forward to reading it.
14. Rich Davis is an innovative fellow. He's been doing body armor demonstration for a number of years. It has made a huge impact (pun intended) on the rise of his Second Chance body armor company to becoming an industry leader.   Thanks for the vids Dolomite. And thanks for the excellent information and discussion folks.
15. TMF;   I think your concerns mirror the concerns of the majority here.   I know I have a personal baseline of stored ammo that I am not comfortable going below. For each of us that is a relative number as we each have a set of perceived needs. I too am shooting more .22 than is my norm. It's my chosen method for skills maintenance. I reload, and have a decent supply of components. But when availability is a challenge (understatement) it certainly increases anxiety for folks.   I believe your theory is spot on kj4
16. I find it interesting as well.   Aside from the amazing "listing then instantly sold out" online purchases, it is good to see ammo hitting the stores us regular joes frequent.   :2cents:
17. Thanks for posting the head's up Blizzard.   It's remarkable how fast ammo goes online...You pretty much have to have an account set up...be logged in...see the ammo...and place the order...then breath.   But at least there is some ammo and reloading supplies starting to trickle in.
18. Very Nice Spots! Congratulations.   Looks like you got an excellent deal as well. Well done Good Sir.
19. I use a TopoMatic machine to make my own (MYO) cigarettes.    I have tried a couple of methods for tobacco (smoking type) storage since '08.   I vacuum sealed 2 pounds of tobacco. I placed one in the deep freezer and one in one of my Gamma Lid 5 gallon buckets I use for intermittent storage goods.   I tried the Gamma Bucket after 1 year...it was as good as when I first sealed it. The next year I tried the one from the freezer...same results...good as new.   I am currently using a commercially package "can" (cardboard with vac and foiled sealed top on it) of Top tobacco I picked up at Walmart for about $9.00 IIRC. This one has simply been setting in a Gamma lidded bucket since '09. There was a hint of dryness to it when I opened it. I poured the tobacco into a 6"x11" Tupperware-like container, moistened a strip of paper towel, and placed it on top of the tobacco. I left it unopened for 2 hours. When I opened the container, the paper towel was dry and the tobacco re-moistened. Worked great.     FWIW...I've also stored Gamma Sealed bucket with good results after one year.   I would think that with the inherent moisture content of chewing tobacco it shouldn't be too difficult to store for a length of time.   I will probably pick up a few pouches to give it a try. Since I haven't been a tobacco chewing fella, could anyone recommend a good brand for my storage.experiment ?
20. I didn't know this was an option. Pretty interesting actually.   I received an e-mail with the below link related to this topic over the past few days. For others also unaware, here's that link: http://proteinwisdom.com/?p=46620
21.   I understand that many folks use lead bullets in Glocks, and that's a choice they're comfortable with. My personal preference is not to take that risk.   I use a Lone Wolf barrel in my 17 and really like that sucker for lead bullets.   I have loaded and shot more than 10,000 Berry's plated bullets through my Glock 19 with not a worry. Berry's has info on Glocks at their website IIRC. Berry's Bullets.       I've posted this link regarding polygonal rifling vs conventional in a previous thread. You might find the info helpful. I hope so. But to each their own.  Happy shooting. :pleased:
22.   Well...that'd explain why I never tried to use it...LOL     I have an extra of the old round type Autoprime stuck back. It's good to know the handle from the newer one will work. I have broken the handle on one or two...but definitely being able to feel the primer seat properly.
23.     I honestly do.   I've taken 4 hr and 8 hr classes and I've definitely found them worthwhile, more so dependent on the instructor and venue. I've taken 2-3 and 6 day classes as well. Fatigue can be a factor in prolonged classes, but it's dependent on the structure as to how that may impact your learning.   A multi day class scenario allows you the time to begin to develop skills to practice, but more importantly allows the instructor an honest chance to observe, monitor, and give the appropriate feedback and correction to subtleties they may notice. Perfect practice makes perfect, and it's very difficult, if not impossible, to view ourselves through unbiased lens. imho, that viewing and feedback is why we pay the instructors.   But whatever your choice, take the plunge into professional training. I think you'll honestly appreciate the true value in it.   Good Luck to you.
24. Welcome aboard.   I'm a transplant from Pearl River County MS. They haven't brought out the tar and feathers...yet...
25. I still have and use my Lee single stage press, primarily for rifle cartridges, and .38 spl. I've had it since the mid 1980's. I've always used an Autoprime in conjunction with this press...no problems at all.   I've never used the press priming function.   Good Luck.
