It would be interesting to check these locations and see how many are actually posted. There was an article in the JC Press a while back that mentioned a half dozen places by name, claiming that they were disallowing carry. I've been to half those places for meals since then and none of those three were actually posted.

I don't know if this will help or not, but the manual is online at: http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/manuals/C-9_CF380.pdf

BTW, anyone got contact info for the guy at Johnny Brusco's? I'd like to send him a "Thank you". -

Yes, unlike those half dozen places I can find that have posted - out of the hundreds listed in the phone book. If these places are really opposed to the law, why aren't they ALL posted? I can say with a very high degree of confidence that one or more of these is NOT actually posted. Certainly that can change, as with PR's addition of a picture of a gun with a circle and slash on their front door. -
Could you actually tell that the circle had a handgun in it? As I made my trip to check out a bunch of places here in JC, I found several places that I initially thought were posted because I could see a sign with a red circle and slash as I approached. But, when I got closer, I realized instead of a gun it was a cigarette in the circle.

Now we're a little behind.

That's exactly the reason I keep voting in them. If we stop voting because we've "won", the polls - invalid as they are - may be used against us.
-
Maybe they are really trying to focus on the "don't care" voter!
-
I have little doubt that happens - on both sides!

From what I could see, no. I still wouldn't recommend that anyone carry there. -

Yup, that was one of the two. The other was the Mecca Cafe - and the term cafe seems to be used lightly. I found a description online...

They are places that I likely would never go anyway - Numan's and the Mecca Cafe. -
Is it legal? No. Would I carry there? No. I'd prefer to give my money to someone else instead.

What we're up against - the anti crowd

I don't know about anyone else, but on a regular basis I quite literally pray that I will never actually have to use any of my weapons. -
I'm not sure who the THA represents, but I did a little local scouting earlier today. Quoting myself from another thread... FWIW, both places posted were local establishments that are closer to beer joints that restaurants, but that I believe would meet the criteria as a restaurant as defined by the state law.

Yup. And, if I stopped making purchases at every establishment that employed a few less than knowledgeable or rude people, I probably wouldn't be able to buy anything at all.

It looks like the Mrs. has plans for me for the evening, so I don't expect to make it. With that said, I did a little recon this morning - at that time, Knight's did NOT appear to be posted in any manner. Actually, I didn't just go by there. I checked out about 35 establishments in JC looking for postings on the doors or immediately inside. Now, it's certainly possible that I missed one or two along the way, but I'm pretty confident that of those 35 only 2 were posted with "No guns" signs. These places were somewhat randomly selected and included some that serve alcohol and some that do not, some small local places and some big chains, some with very liberal owners and some with very conservative. I really tried to include a wide variety of places. At least a couple of these locations are even owned by people who have stated publicly that they oppose handgun carry in restaurants - yet they were not currently posted. So, at least for the moment, there doesn't appear to be a rush by restaurateurs in JC to prohibit carry. -
I tend to agree - especially since there have been so many and most, maybe all, of them came out in our favor. It's almost like the press keeps doing them hoping to eventually get a few that come out against us so that they can publicize those specific results.

I voted - no change from percentages above.
