  1. Ok, I could be thinking of the M&P or something else then. I know the triggers on both my VP9 LS & SK are very nice for a striker fired gun. Have you bought anything lately?
  2. Yet..................................
  3. Just ordered a shoulder holster, straps & leather care kit. Saved over $80 with the BLACK25 discount code. Galco is good stuff too!
  4. And certainly vice versa, not once but twice. Timothy Demonbreun, a Frenchman, was a trapper & the first white male to settle in what is now known as Nashville. Demonbreun's Cave is found on the bank of the Cumberland River, next to 1st Ave South. He scandalized the later Donelson-Overton group, who founded Ft. Nashboro, by living with 2-3 Indian squaws. The man knew how to have a good time, it seems. He died in 1826 & is supposedly buried next to 3rd Ave North & Jefferson St in an unmarked grave. I'm full of worthless trivia about TN......................
  5. Most FFL's will accept a gun from a private owner as long as they also include a copy of their DL with the gun. Don't just ship the gun by itself, IOW.
  6. bump for black Friday
  7. Yeah, I saw the McCarbo kit, thought it might be worthwhile. I've got to go get a .22 1911 next month in Nashville & (hopefully) also get the new Hi-Power. I'll fingerbang the 509 LS, see how the trigger is. Am I wrong in remembering the original VP9 triggers were awful? Or am I thinking of something else?
  8. Latest from the fine, fine folks at FedEx!
  9. Stupid & incompetent runs heavily on both sides as is demonstrated daily, IMO. Immoral runs heaviest on the left side, IMO. Hypocrisy seems to be their only sustaining characteristic, IMO. Sure, we're ready for something better. But who? How? One has to be insane to get involved in politics these days, IMO. Between the media "gotcha" questions, the SJW & PC crowd, a normal person doesn't stand a chance. Someone might've made an off-color joke 25 years ago or cheered for the wrong sports team or some other childish offense for the media to latch onto. As for the "evil" part, it's pretty easy to show which side is on that particular ride. Just look at the news, see who the usual suspects are & what their politicians are saying about them. Perfect example is MSNBC & CNN calling the recent car killing in Wisconsin as an "accident". Seriously? WTF?????
  10. Yeah, triggers are certainly not FN's strong point. I would imagine the gun is too new for any springs to be out there to help the trigger pull? Nor is FN known for their aftermarket options either. It's a shame because they make damn good guns. I'll nose around with Wolff Gunsprings, see what they might have. Thanks for chiming in! You always have good advice as well as no-BS reviews on guns. How's your Hi-Point doing?
  11. Hmmmmmm. I forget what the part is called, but there's a collar on the ejection rod that aligns/spaces the cylinder between the forcing cone & the shield plate. If there's enough of a gap between the forcing cone & cylinder, a slightly smaller collar could be used, allowing a .001 or so to be added on the back end for loosening the fit? Obviously I'm neither a gunsmith nor machinist, but I can swap parts out......................
  12. There's merits to both sides of the argument, IMO. Who doesn't want a bargain on a buy? Can't get a bargain when you have to bid high from the git-go, IMO. And as you say, if you want, bid enough to get it & never mind the bargain. I'm still surprised a USP brought $2k..............
  13. I don't need tv to know liberals are stupid, incompetent & immoral. I have the Clintons, the Obamas, Pelosi, Schumer, Nadel, AOC, all the Memphis politicians & all the Nashville politicians to prove that beyond any doubt. The perfect example is the current POTUS administration, which stole a national election. But I do see your point.
  14. Well, let's see what's new. Titans release Peterson & a couple of other players. Sign a bunch of new ones to replace them. I still think the Pats will win by 2-3 TD's this Sunday. UT is favored by 30 over Vandy. Huepel should be SEC coach of the year, IMO. He inherited a dumpster fire, had his best players transfer out, took a transfer QB in & molded him into a pretty decent QB & should finish 8-4 after the Vandy game. They should've beat Ole Miss & been 9-3 but oh, well. James Franklin signed a 10 year extension with Pedo State. If he finishes that contract, I'll buy everyone in here a cheese burger. LSU supposedly is down to their final 3 candidates. That'll be an interesting hire. I'm super curious who Florida hires. While a high paying job & high profile, the fan base is overly optimistic on their expectations, IMO. The Spurrior days are over & not coming back. I'm also wondering if Florida State will keep their coach as well. Is there any doubt the Cincinnati coach will bail for greener pastures? There's rumblings TX is thinking about cutting loose their coach after only one year. And they want to join the SEC? Bama over Auburn. UK over Louisville. UT over Vandy. (duh!) GA over Tech. MSU over Ole Miss in an upset. FSU over Florida by a FG or something close. LSU over A&M in another upset. SC upsets Clemson. Lady Vols are playing a Turkey Tournament in Vegas. They had a huge win over TX last Sun! I know they're not football but I follow them closely.
  15. Rare is the gun model that has a worse trigger on the later generations, IMO. I've got a FNX-9 & the trigger is nothing to write home about it. The reason I've kept it is its accuracy. Now, the newer H&K VP9 models such as the SK & long slide all have hugely improved triggers over what they were initially released with. Light years better than Glock & M&P both. But triggers are also subjective. Ken has some super nice 1911s & he may be a wee bit spoiled from the them? But he is like E.F. Hutton: when he speaks, we listen.
  16. Ehhhh, one can find the hidden nugget once in a while, IMO. I just got a Colt (made by Walther) Gold Cup Trophy 1911 in .22LR with 4 mags for something like $380. Obviously this isn't one of the "hot" guns on the market these days, which is what one finds when looking for affordable guns, IMO. But I whole heartedly agree that prices are in the insane zone for guns that don't rate them. Pythons for $3K? USP for $2K? Diamondbacks for $2k, some higher? Insane indeed.
  17. Yes.
  18. Wow, I wondered about the trigger. Are we talking Ruger LC9 bad or worse? I've been told this was a sweet gun.
  19. 4474 is the Italian version.......................... Fat fingers on my part. Should've been 21A, not 11A. My apologies. I corrected my earlier post. I mentioned family because the OP did but you most certainly are correct in that it doesn't matter if one is family or not.
  20. I think you're overestimating Tucker's influence, IMO. I'm a political junkie & I have never, ever watched a single second of Tucker's pod cast, newscasts or anything of his. Couldn't care less what his opinion is about something, I form my own. I did the same thing with Rush, who was nothing more than an entertainer & commentator. Rittenhouse probably did it for some money as I'm sure he's got lots of bills to pay.
  21. Odds are about as good as Monica Lewenski's are, IMO. Slim & none.
  22. Is it showing wear marks on the high points where it's hitting the frame? Pics?
  23. From the story: In short, they wanted THE dumbest demographic on the planet Earth to be all the jurors. During the post-trial interviews, many jurors complained about the black female juror who crawled under the table & slept through deliberations. Said juror was also quoted as saying she "was going to vote Not Guilty no matter what." She also posed for Playboy after the trial. Don't bother looking for pics. Yuck! Not sure how a consultant would've helped in Rittenhouse's trial. There were 18 & a drawing was held to narrow it down to the 12 used. I've read many books by high profile lawyers who've written about jury selections. It's fascinating (to me) to read how they think about this procedure. While occupation sometimes enters the criteria, it usually boils down to the usual three things: race, education & sex. That was interesting, Garufa, thanks!
  24. Not at all. It clearly states on the 4473 instructions a family member may gift a firearm w/o it being considered a straw purchase. Question 21A on the 4473.
  25. She'd be a perfect Republican except for one thing: she hates private gun ownership of ANY sort.
