Why are you up so early?????? I remember well when these first came out. There was a LOT of disappointment as those of us whom loved their revolvers had much higher expectations. Gritty triggers & average accuracy (at best) regulated the M&P line to a lower tiered status among the discriminating gun buyer/owner. It was also about the same time FN got their line cranked up, CZ was making a much bigger splash & there were multiple brands bringing moderately priced 1911s out (Rock Island Armory is one). In short, the M&P line had a lot of competition & they didn't stack up too terribly well for those who knew what to look for. Their biggest positive was their price & a lot of buyers told me that. The only other mfgr close to that was Ruger & their line was pretty limited on variety. I don't think they even offered a .45acp at that time? I don't remember, I think they were only 9mm & .40S&W? Even the 2.0 line is a slow seller. The Shield is far & away their best selling model, especially the EZ version. I bet I sold those 3-4 times over any other M&P model. Take away those & the entire 2.0 line is a red headed step-child, IMO. I admit to not caring for the S&W 3rd Gen semi line either. I had one but sold it off for something much better. I did keep my Model 52 though, a wonderful gun.

My speed these days would make a snail blush. But I do strive for the smallest possible group(s) I can get. I cut my teeth on bullseye-type shooting & that's stayed with me all my life, even shooting 3 Gun & USPSA. I hear & read about "combat accuracy" & so forth & just shake my head at that. I know I'm in the minority in this thinking but *I* want a gun I can shoot a USPSA high rd count match with & then use the same gun in a bullseye match. There's multiple guns in my safe that fit that criteria & they've spoiled me in meeting my expectations. Beretta, CZ, Springfield Armory 1911s, FN & H&K are the ones that do that for me. I know we all want what we want & some folks want Glocks. Some folks root for Vandy too. I can't understand either reasoning.......................

Since Alec Baldwin killed that girl & STILL there's no charges in any way, shape or form. Even OJ is envious.

My buddy used 3 Men & a Truck & liked them pretty good. No clue if they'll do long distance or not. What I would do is what my brother did & use the PODS system. They park a container in your drive, you (or hired teens) load it until you're done. They come get it & park it in your new drive & give you something like 30 days to get it unloaded. This takes a LOT of pressure off the time crunch of loading & unloading, IMO. Moving sucks & it's not something I EVER want to do again at my age (63) because I load everything myself, with some help. Screw all that. Good luck, OP.

Well said! Although I do take into account other shooter's opinions before I buy something so I don't waste my $$$. I've dodged buying several pigs that way over the years.

So you're saying you couldn't get more accuracy out of your VP9 over the Glock or S&W? That's incredibly surprising. I've found the M&P series to be struggling to reach mediocrity when compared to the other major brands. Even the newcomers like Canik are leapfrogging the M&P line, IMO.
-
Not terribly seriously, I assure you. 19's are selling on GB for $539 in their base design. VP9's are $679 or so but do have the 17rd mags that are flush fit. But honest Injun, I've had Glock owners take my H&K's for their very first time & shoot smaller groups than they could with their own personal Glock. The VP9 trigger is much, much better than the Glock design as well. Even Glock owners tell me that. While their triggers aren't necessarily better than Glock's, the FN striker guns are much more accurate as well. For the record, I've owned about a 1/2 dozen Glocks in my lifetime. None were 17's or 19's, oddly enough. I've sold every single one of them sooner or later.
-
Sure it is. Nothing illegal about it & it's no one's business where it came from. RandyB nailed it.
-
What was better about it? Ever go down in the basement & use Gun City's range? Ugh!
-
Let's see: 100% better trigger, better accuracy, better ergos. Not quite sure how you arrive at "settling" with those improvements?

Hunh. Didn't know High Wall/Low Wall rifles had "fluff" as "extras"? I had a Pedersoli 45/70 with double triggers once. I liked it but ended up trading it off. I liked the double set triggers & wouldn't own one again unless it had those. Another poster already mentioned a bad trigger on his, so who wants that? I would also have to have a tang sight on one I bought new today, IMO. It would make it more accurate. This year I bought an 1885 Low Wall Winchester but got it in .22mag so I could afford to shoot it AND save my 63 year old shoulder. LOL! My .o2

Not my caliber but a beautiful rifle!

Good answer!

Coulda got a VP9 instead....................

I think he meant "Constitutional Amendment" rather that a mere "right". I still fail to see how a dealer or mfgr is responsible for a product once it leaves their hands?????? Obviously CA courts could care less about logic & the law(s), I get that. But if I sell my car & the new owner embarks on a bank robbery spree using said car, how am *I* responsible?????
-
Not all of them, at least last time I looked.

The Gun Crew in Hermitage has boo coo .38Super ammo. Not outrageous price either. I'm glad I bought my Colt LW Commander when I did, before prices & supply went insane. Love the caliber though.
-
Actually, no it didn't. Heard an excellent legal analysis today on Sirius POTUS channel. They explained it well enough that even I understood it. All Roe v Wade did was have the USSC rule on an interpretation of a law, NOT finding it "Constitutionally protected." Wish I could remember the fella's name but boy, did he piss off the female panel member with his analysis. LOL!!!

I know this is CA, I know gun grabbers use no logic what so ever. But HOW in the wide, wide world of sports is a mfgr or retailer responsible for someone using a legally purchased firearm for illegal purposes? Are car mfgrs responsible for DUI's? Are beer & liquor mfgrs responsible for DUI's? Is Little Debbie responsible for obesity? I have no doubt that if in front of a CA jury (or judge, for that matter) a gun mfgr doesn't stand a chance on the legal merits alone. It's all about the "feelz" of the CA libtards. Nor is the 9th District Court of Appeals going to side on the legal & logical side of things. (The 9th is also THE most overturned appeals court in the US as well.) I also fail to see how a CA court is going to have jurisdiction over a gun mfgr located in another state? Newsome rails against "assault weapons", which have been outlawed in CA for years now. Yes, I know this is political posturing on Newsome's part in order to deflect his handling of CA's crashing economy. I note no where in the news story did Newsome provide a single detail on how mfgrs & retailers are responsible once the firearm is sold. Talk about a clown world! This is simply mind boggling to me.

Love it. It's in my carry rotation on a regular basis. Soft shooting, reliable & accurate. Everything one wants in a carry gun. TGC also has a Les Baer in .38Super, which is why I asked your budget range. I've got several Baers but none in .38Super, which I'd love to have. Have you looked at Gun Broker yet?
-
The Gun Crew in Hermitage has some. I bought my Colt LW Commander in .38 Super from them, so they stock them pretty regularly. They stock lots of ammo as well. What's your target price range?
-
Nope. Don't own a single Glock nor plan to. I'm strictly a H&K and FN guys all the way. But I do have a buddy or three who are Glock guys & thought I'd pass the info along. My curiosity is: do they have more options than the Glock accessory guys do at the gun shows? Do they sell a variety of aftermarket triggers, for example? Barrels?

Well, go on...................

Could be. However, Memphis' crime RATE is much, much higher than Nashville's. As a white guy, I can walk anywhere in Nashville w/o being bothered or scared. Anywhere. In Memphis? Not so much.
