    New Gun!

They've been out for about 3-4 years now. Not a lot of shops carry them, for whatever reason.

    New Gun!

Thankfully, yes. I was buying bricks of .22 at every gun show since about 12-14 years ago. One can never have too much .22 ammo, IMO.

    New Gun!

Bought on GB, I picked up a new Beretta M9-22 Sat. Sadly, it came with only one 10rd mag. Must be why I got it so cheaply. I've been eyeballing these for a couple of years now. Chiappa makes one, not sure if anyone else does as well or not? But I figured why not go with the Berretta just because. Front sight is dovetailed, which is nice. I doubt I'll change anything but I do like the Tru-Glo front sight on my other guns. Getting old & all that rot. No light rail, which I did NOT want as I think it ruins the look of a gun. Safety, mag release, everything else is identical to my other 92FS'. Well, except for weight of course. 15rd .22 mags are ordered from GB, so they should be here next week. I look forward to shooting this one!

    New Gun!

Picked up a Henry lever action Sat. .22LR caliber (so I can afford to shoot it), octagon barrel, wood stock, blued steel. But what got me cranked up was it came with a threaded bbl in addition to the octagon shape! I had not seen this combo before then. With rare exceptions, I lust after every octagon barrel rifle I finger bang. Doesn't matter the caliber, they just make my heart rate go way, way up. Sadly, it has the usual buckhorn rear sight, which means that won't work for me as the sight picture is inconsistent. So I also picked up some gently used scopes while I was there. I got two Nikons & one Redfield for $250 OTD! Now the only excuse for bad shots will be.............................. me. Henry still does their lifetime warranty too. Also still made in the USA, which I like.
  5. Nah, I was in my truck this time. Thank goodness!
  6. Easily the best shop in Mid TN. Perhaps the entire state, IMO. Selection, price, service. Everything but a gun smith.
  7. I went in to The Gun Crew shop in Nashville today to pick up a couple of guns I had bought but hadn't gotten yet. (I live 3 hours away now.) They had boocoo .300Blk, .22LR, .45acp, 9mm & 5.7 ammo for sale. The 5.7 is about 1/2 of what I was seeing on GB, so you can help yourself there if that's what you need. I didn't check to see if there was plenty of 5.56 or 7.62x39 but I'm sure he has them as well. None of the ammo was match grade, but the pistol calibers were both FMJ as well as self defense ammo. They had multiple types of 9mm self defense on sale as well, much of it Hornady stuff. Hope this helps some folks.
  8. Am I the only one who thinks gun shop help has dropped off tremendously in the last 5-6 years? Now it seems they're more mouth breathers than guys who love & know guns. I was in a LGS this week, trying to buy rings for a Remington Nylon 66 & a 4X scope. Counter help pointed to a ring set & said "These are all we have." I told him, "No, you have a set of Leupold rings right there. Let me see those." I knew his inventory better than he did & I was there only 5 minutes. The Leupold set were split from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock instead of 3 to 9, I told him FOUR times the scope needed to be inserted FIRST so I could see if the front bell cleared the rear iron sight. Once the rings were on, they can't be spread enough to ease the scope in. Instead he ignored all FOUR requests from me & proceeded to slide the front ring on & finger tighten the clamp. He then stood up like he was proud of his accomplishment & looked at me. I asked him "Now, HOW do I get the scope on in order to check the rear sight clearance?" He had a deer in the headlight look. I packed up my rifle & scope & left the store, buying nothing. Yes, I know good help is hard to find. Yes, I know covid, covid, covid. Yes, I know a store can only hire those whom apply. But holy crap, is this the level that gun shops have had to sink to these days for hired help? I also mention this is a pretty good sized store & this guy was the only sales staff on the floor. No clue if others were in the back, had a day off or what. I wonder why they can't get some crotchety old retired guys in there to "humbug" their way through the day. Used to work in the old days. Or am I becoming a crotchety old man because the help ignored my request four times?
  9. Story Short version: Memphis cops get called to a wedding venue at 10pm. 20-30 different people were involved in multiple fights outside in the parking lot. (Alcohol was no doubt involved, IMO.) Cops began arresting the outstanding citizens & then the bride went off the rails, attacking the cops herself. She was arrested for biting one of them on the shoulder. So she got to spend her wedding night in the pokey instead of Motel 6. Man, I NEVER get invited to the cool weddings!
  10. For those whom have never finger banged one or shot, these are possibly THE best .22 rifles being made this side of an Anschutz, IMO. Yes, I also own CZ rimfires (452 models) & I include them as well. Super nice trigger & adjustable as well. I never tampered with mine as I liked it as it was/is. Mine is the thicker target barrel with walnut stock. Easily shoots snake eyes @ 50 yards with decent but not match grade ammo. The T-Bolt uses a "helix" style mag, which means it holds 10rds but doesn't stick out past the stock, making it super nice for benchrest shooting. While the mags run around $40-45 each, they are well-built & easily found on Gun Broker & so forth. If someone has always wanted a top tier rifle (Anschutz, etc) this is a perfect opportunity to spend a whole lot less but not lose much quality doing so, which is rare, IMO. Sell something & buy this one, you won't regret it. (derf, I look forward to my commission check. LOL!)
  11. Do you have a web site? While I own a Benchmade auto I don't know the models of which you spoke of. Thanks!
  12. No joke, this became well known about 10-15 years or so ago during other hurricanes. Unlike our beloved gubbermint bureaucrats, private enterprises have aggregated their fecal matter for when said fecal matter hits the fan. In short, they know what the heck they're doing. (Mostly because they hire people based on performance & not because they check diversity hire boxes.) I'm afraid this storm may well make Katrina look like a summer storm by the time it's done, IMO.
  13. I've got a #### ton of men's clothes that are (ahem) too small for me. Many of them still have the store tag on them, never been worn. Pants & shirts. For people whom have nothing now, it might make a difference between giving up or not, IMO. I also encourage others to donate dishes, shoes, anything they can. I've worked recovery efforts before & it's unreal the daily use items we take for granted until we no longer have them.
  14. What about clothes? Can people send clothes to an address somewhere, a church perhaps? People have lost almost everything they own, they damn sure need things to wear.
  15. Whatever makes you feel better, homes.
  16. Shouldn't be a surprise to we TN natives. We prove it time & time again. The Nashville flood was a perfect example of the community helping after a disaster. Tornado damage is another one. This is true for all over the South, IMO.
  17. Who knows? Could be her, could be Dolly, could be a TN Titan, could be Hank, Jr? Who knows?
  18. Richmond, VA tried putting felons back in jail when they turned back to gun crime(s). It was hugely successful in reducing violent crime but the ensuing outcry from the ACLU, NAACP & other usual suspects forced politicians to put a stop to it. I'm not quite certain what CDC thinks they're going to accomplish with their "study". There's reams of FBI studies on crime, murders & so forth. My best guess is they just want a lot more of that Govt grant $$$$ to fill out their budget. CDC Director Dr. Walensky should go spend several weeks in the inner city of Atlanta. Better yet, live in the projects for a month & then see what sort of solutions she comes up with. My bet would be she'd be about as efficient as she has been with this China flu mess: a disaster!
  19. Ch 4 News reports an anonymous donor is paying for all the funerals in Humphries Co resulting from the flood. Whomever it is, may blessings be upon them as I doubt many of those folks could afford a funeral after losing everything they owned.
  20. Well, at least this idiot won't be reproducing from now on...............
  21. When have we NOT gotten a lot of rain this year?
  22. Words mean something. Say what you mean, mean what you say, IMO. Spelling is just as important as choosing the correct word. Especially when you're trying to insult someone, as you were. Have a good day. Get some rest, you seem to need it.
  23. More horse manure So much horse manure in there, I don't know quite where to start.................... The overwhelmingly majority of crime issues fall in cities & states ran by Dimocrats, but they conveniently ignore that. Murder capital of the US (Chicago) has a super liberal mayor along with stringent gun laws. Yet politicians won't allow the cops to do their jobs because, well, you know: racism. Gangs (including antifa) run rampant because cops are getting thrown under the bus time & time again. Now in cities like Portland, they've resorted to "smile & wave" policing in order to avoid being sued & having their lives ruined. As for "the heightened threat of armed political extremism", I fail to see a single example of this anywhere. But when has the lack of evidence ever hindered the gun grabbers? Answer: never. "Political extremism" means someone who doesn't agree with their radical agenda to gut the 2nd Amendment, nothing else. As for Chipmunk Chapman, I'd wager a good milkshake that Biden can't even remember who that is or why he's nominated. I find it funny the administration (who is really running the show, not Biden) has left him dangling in the wind. Further showing he's an idiot, Chapman doesn't have the common sense to read the writing on the wall & withdraw his candidacy & steal back into his gun grabbing world. One thing that truly boggles my mind is these idiots think they can gain attention given the current circumstances with Afghanistan & covid in America. This absolutely shows they haven't a clue about the real world, IMO.
  24. Ok. But the Chief says it wasn't the cause. Could certainly be a contributing factor though. Not that any of it matters at this point, sadly.
