  1. There's some stats from Israel on their current covid issues. Almost half of those in the hospital have had some sort of shot from one of the various makers. Google it up. Now I have no clue what the US stats are nor do I doubt anyone else does either. Hospitals have been caught time & time again changing covid numbers. But I again say I know multiple people whom have had shots also contract covid & end up in the ICU. And IF the shots work, why wear masks? Makes no sense.
  2. Oh, yeah. That'll help folks like cops more. Arresting people who've done nothing wrong & a cop can't decide what a law says or doesn't say. Who doesn't want an arrest record on their background, eh?
  3. If they "worked", then people wouldn't be getting covid after they've had the shots. Since they get covid after they got the shots, it's NOT a "vaccine" per se. For the record, I'm doing the shots. Had the first, waiting for the second. But I'm not closing my eyes to the reality of the situation.
  4. Personally, I was ok leaving it at 21 for handguns. Yes, I know that runs against the norm in most circles. But current 18-20 year olds can't change a tire nor drive a stick shift (mostly). Most probably couldn't name their own Governor, IMO. Couple that with some alcohol floating around a group & you've got a recipe for disaster, IMO.
  5. Could be he wasn't asked? Could be they had enough signatures? Who knows?
  6. Possibly even scarier is the MSM. But either are dumber than a box of hammers.
  7. 10mm is best mm.................
  8. Never cleared your own house, have you? Or investigated a noise from your pole barn? Or live waaaaaaaay out in the country, where there's no neighbor from a good bit? A moving light (no matter how small) is easily seen by someone. Not my idea of concealment. Holding a flashlight in your weak hand, away from your body line is the method I've decided is the safest for me. Obviously everyone will pick which one they think works best. But why give a meth head a leg up over you?
  9. This. A huge night sight on the front is the best option, IMO. No batteries to worry about nor fool with. It's always there, always "on". A red dot is a mechanical device. Any mechanical device is both susceptible and prone to failure. And sure as god made little green apples, it WILL happen at the worst possible time. My life is worth more than a $200 (or less) red dot sight. Not to mention a red dot getting knocked off of point-of-aim. Not on my carry gun, no thank you.
  10. Couldn't agree more.
  11. My vote goes to Rock Island. I have two of them, a Commander & dbl stack 2011, both in 10mm. I would buy both again, which is the highest recommendation I can give a gun. Tisa's do have a good rep, although I have seen a couple come back to a shop for warranty issue. No gun in that price will always be perfect.
  12. Sadly, the shots don't prevent one from getting covid. I know multiple people who had both shots & STILL ended up in ICU somewhere. I wonder if a better option would've been making cheap testing kits, do-it-yourself ones for home. Test yourself everyday & catch it before it gets ramped up & hammers your lungs. Because clearly the shots are neither preventing it nor slowing it down. They're also going to be mandatory as soon as the FDA approves them next month (I read on the news). May China's govt rot in hell over this.
  13. All good advice. One thing I do to help myself is wear one of those construction worker reflective vests. Bright yellow, so it's easily seen & stands out. I got mine @ Greene's Military & Police in Donelson, TN. I never get on my bike w/o that vest being on!
  14. The Gun Crew in Nashville does a boatload of GB sales. I mean insanely crazy level of sales. However, I can't speak for them on if they would sell your gun for you or not, you'd need to speak with them over the details. In fact, I will be in their shop next Sat picked up two transfers. *I* would still try a couple of gun shows first. I know multiple dealers who often buy from walk-arounds. A win-win for both, IMO.
  15. Which will be a huge disaster, IMO. Police should enforce the law(s), not interpret them, IMO. *I* don't want some mouth breather trying to decide of someone is violating the law or not. *I* prefer the law to be crystal clear. Sadly, the TN Legislature doesn't get voted in because of their brains....................
  16. I understand McCain being reviled. He screwed America on voting for Nobama Care, he screwed America on voting for anti-gun legislation at every opportunity. He was no friend to conservatives & shafted us at every opportunity. Ginsberg was against virtually everything America stood for, IMO. Hated guns with a passion. How can a USSC Justice support all the Amendments except one?
  17. GB is geared more in a dealer's favor over an individual, IMO. Already mentioned are the fees & taxes added on. Another negative will be your lack of rating on your first couple of sales. Not many would chance $500-600 on a non-rated seller, IMO. (Reminds me of job hunting. "We can't hire you because of no experience." Me: "How can I get experience if you won't hire me?" LOL!) I would stick with this site for sales or maybe hit some gun shows & do a walk-around sale? Or perhaps a consignment with a local dealer, if possible? Also, what happens when a buyer damages a gun himself & then claims it was shipped that way? That's a HUGE headache for a private seller. I've seen it happen to others. My .o2
  18. Personally, *I* wouldn't get within 50 miles of Cades Cove. Traffic & tourists make that area a must-avoid for locals, IMO. What *I* would do is slide a little further south & ease around the Chattanooga area. Take a train ride on the TVA Rail run, maybe go white water rafting on the Ocoee River or tube down the Hiwassee River if you prefer calmer adventure? Much better entertainment options as well as less traffic in SE TN, IMO. Regardless, drive safely! My .o2
  19. This! What's your life worth? Or getting paralyzed? Trees don't care who you are, how nice you are, how many kids you have or where you go to church. They hate everyone equally. Hire a pro for this one, IMO.
  20. As usual, the answer is: $$$$$. They have to have a person collecting the trays in the lobby, they have to have a person cleaning the trays (I would hope!). That's extra expense in their eyes. My local places do this & I've bitched about it constantly as I hate eating out of a bag. The local McD's lobby isn't even open nor are the ones in Bradley Co. They claim they can't find enough help.
  21. Doesn't sound like much in comparison, but the issue in the 2010 flood was all the western rivers & lakes had already reached capacity when the rain hit the Mid State area. The water had no where to go, so it backed up. I was working the Opryland Hotel that day & we evac'd guests at 2am to McGavock high school. I stood on the first floor in the Delta section (closest to the river) & saw water 3' (yes, feet) above the room window sills. It was surreal to say the least. It also rained for like 3 days straight non-stop. Of course, none of this negates the suffering of those poor folks in Humphries Co.
  22. Could TVA not release enough water through some dams to off-set all that rain? Or is this another example of bureaucracy in its finest like the Nashville flood of 2010? This isn't the first time Waverly has been flooded, they have a long history of that. One would hope that folks wouldn't live that close to the river(s) to avoid that sort of thing. Sad.
  23. Posted on all the Nashville news sites, radio host Phil Valentine died from Covid complications yesterday. He had been on a ventilator for a week or longer. I've met Phil at several functions as he was a strong 2nd Amendment supporter & was a guest speaker at several functions. Super nice guy, IMO. Sad to hear of his passing. Showing the kind of person she is, Martina Navratilova sent a tweet celebrating Valentine's death. Why she cared or even thought about Valentine is beyond me. Why she stooped to such a low level of class is also beyond me. RIP, Phil.
  24. "Property" means plot of land in my world, not home. Wholly illegal to shoot someone on your property when they have no weapon or are not actively beating on you. Dead guy could've been screaming anything or threatening anything but still not legal to shoot him IF he's outside the home itself. (All this is from an ADA in Metro Nashville, not my opinion.) Quite honestly, I'm surprised the Tec-9 worked.............
  25. Ehh, I'm not so sure on that, sir. With the new "no permit required" law allowing carry in place, the TFA is fighting to include the under-21 crowd according to their email blasts. From the TFA website:
