  1. Could TVA not release enough water through some dams to off-set all that rain? Or is this another example of bureaucracy in its finest like the Nashville flood of 2010? This isn't the first time Waverly has been flooded, they have a long history of that. One would hope that folks wouldn't live that close to the river(s) to avoid that sort of thing. Sad.
  2. Posted on all the Nashville news sites, radio host Phil Valentine died from Covid complications yesterday. He had been on a ventilator for a week or longer. I've met Phil at several functions as he was a strong 2nd Amendment supporter & was a guest speaker at several functions. Super nice guy, IMO. Sad to hear of his passing. Showing the kind of person she is, Martina Navratilova sent a tweet celebrating Valentine's death. Why she cared or even thought about Valentine is beyond me. Why she stooped to such a low level of class is also beyond me. RIP, Phil.
  3. "Property" means plot of land in my world, not home. Wholly illegal to shoot someone on your property when they have no weapon or are not actively beating on you. Dead guy could've been screaming anything or threatening anything but still not legal to shoot him IF he's outside the home itself. (All this is from an ADA in Metro Nashville, not my opinion.) Quite honestly, I'm surprised the Tec-9 worked.............
  4. Ehh, I'm not so sure on that, sir. With the new "no permit required" law allowing carry in place, the TFA is fighting to include the under-21 crowd according to their email blasts. From the TFA website:
  5. Is this by county ordinance? It's not state law, is it? Was the sign accompanied by the correct & legal language as set forth by TN law? If not, then it's not a valid prohibition. Of course you're not going to win the argument with a Karen (male or female) while at the door. A small J-frame is the perfect answer for situations like this, IMO.
  6. Kinda late here, but Jeff Walle (Wally) @ Guns-n-Leather in Greenbriar can do all that for you. Dropping the mainspring by 3-4lbs will also result in a MUCH better DA trigger pull. Wolff Gunsprings offers springs for Makarovs but I don't know what poundage they are, sorry. Good luck.
  7. Multiple CZ Accushadow owner here. Not sure what you mean by a "10x bushing". Of course, there's a lot of things I've not heard of. But the Shadow 2 doesn't use a bushing at all as I recall, it's more of a bull barrel lock-up. So there'd be a good bit of machining required there, IMO. Personally, *I* would doubt there'd be enough improvement as to off-set the cost. If greater accuracy is your goal (which is mine also, truth be told), you might want to consider acquiring an Accushadow. I can assure you these guns perform what is simply amazing accuracy. All their test targets are nothing but one ragged hole. They're a bit too large for carry purposes but that's not their design intent. I believe it's been discontinued, but my fav is the Accushadow Lite. It's slide resembles a big brother to a Browning High Power, much lighter on the front end thanks to that. I might suggest you nose around a bit on the CZ Custom web site, see what's currently being made. Then ease over to Gun Broker to see what they're selling for in the real world. There's a dealer in Nashville that carries more CZ's than anyone else, The Gun Crew. (615) 294-5806. Now, if you REALLY want to get addicted, check out the CZ SDP on the Custom web site. It's the custom shop version of the SP01 Compact. Amazing trigger, melt job, super accurate but built for carry due to size. As of two weeks ago The Gun Crew had one of those in stock. If you finger bang it & dry fire it, I'd doubt you'll hand it back. LOL! My .o2
  8. Much like closing a car door in super slow motion, it's not designed to work that way. A slide, any slide, requires a certain speed to work correctly. Momentum, resistance, energy, etc all work in harmony with the moving parts to make it operate. Hand cycling changes that dynamic tremendously. Slide speed is why many recommend that the slide release not be used & the slide grasped, pulled back & released when needing to chamber a rd. Note: NEVER allow a 1911 slide to slam home on an empty chamber! The extractor will act like a tuning fork! Not good for it. If the chamber/mag is empty, then a hand-guided slow travel is in fact best. My .o2
  9. Jeff Walle (pronounced "Wally") @ Guns-n-Leather in Greenbriar would do you a good job. He's been a 'smith for about 35 years now. He works a short week, something like Thu-Sat, so call ahead. Sorry if you've already gotten this done.
