  1. Just curious, but why DA/SA only? Striker fired pistols offer a much more consistent trigger pull which will come in handy for that all important first shot. Unless you just like thumbing the hammer, Double action handguns don't offer much of an advantage over something like a GLOCK for concealed carry. Glock 30. Falls on the threshold of "comfortable" CCW. I like the little fat bastage'.
  2. When the wife or I carry the Bersa I load it with Corbon 80gr DPX. I think I read about them in a gun rag and it was the best one out of the few they tested.

    FNP-45

True. The checkering on the sides is pretty sharp. I'll be adding some bike innertube soon.

    FNP-45

I finally got to the range to shoot my new FNP-45. Man is it sweet! I put 250 rounds of UMC ball through it with 0 jams. Like everyone else claims it is a soft shooting .45. It came with (3) 14 round magazines, an extra flat backstrap and this monstrosity of a storage case. Overall, I like it.
  5. OMFG. You guys can't be serious. Airsoft guns are great. I have a G&G GR16 and it is just a wee bit heavier than my "Real Steel" (that's what the 'softers call them) Bushmaster (unloaded). The orange tip, trigger pull and the fat handgaurds are just about the only differences from a real AR. everything else, except the charging handle, is exactly like the real deal. You can even zero it like an AR and it will hit the point of aim but with a ridiculous upward arc b/c of the hop up. And they sting like a SOB. Besides, it's just plain fun shooting in the house when the wife and kids are gone. Just an old sweatshirt behind an IDPA target is all the backstop needed. Although I did catch heat for scuffing one door w/ my workboot. But now since I was banned from the rest of the house and am confined to the garage:p, I can shoot whenever I want without worring about killing somebody in the next room. Unfortunatly, I have mine up for sale because the local Airsoft feild has had mostly all of thier skirmishes scheduled for when I have to work. And YES, I do own real guns. And I treat this one with the same respect I do as my real ones. (except the room clearing stuff when the wife is gone with the real ones)
  6. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f06_1212730610 Sucks to be him.
  7. I thought this thread sounded familiar. I just found out about Mitchell's and was kinda caught off gaurd about waiting for the dealer to come in after he gets off his mail route. I did however come back and find Speer Gold Dot for $9.99 Seems like a cool guy. I'll probably buy from him again.
  8. Parkerizing, and more recently maintaining the lawn and Airsoft. So far airsofting consisted of my wife, son and I shooting at each other in the backyard and me shooting IDPA targets in the garage I keep missing the Jackson field skirmishes due to work schedule.
  9. True, but the internet was invented in the good ol' U.S. of A.........And then all the modems and servers were made in China. AND the computer did come from China, but when you have a problem with it, who do you call.....That's Right. India.

    Glock owners...?

Hi-vis fiber optic front sight and a .25 cent trigger job.
  11. Anyone here (around Jackson) have the tools (or tips) needed to help me get this "$%@" Mossberg 500 magazine tube unscrewed. I've tried everything from a hair dryer, to even putting it in the oven before putting it back in the vise. WTF:mad: I guess the next step is a torch, leather scrap and pipe wrench?
  12. http://http://www.adcofirearms.com/rrapricerequest.cfm He will send you an email. decent prices.
  13. Usually I hate shopping with my wife. But this particular day I put it past me and let my wife talk me into going with her to rummage through the thrift stores while we were running errands. My usual SOP is to humor her for about 20 min. and then start hinting that I'm ready to go. So I'm looking around and I spot a J.C. Higgins cleaning kit. It is in very good condition and I give it to my wife to hold. ...Long story short...the store owner and my wife are talking and she tells my wife that she has some guns for sale. So $300 later I now own a 1975 (called S&W soon as I got home) Model 19-3 in .357Mag and a worthless German .22lr EIG single action (free). And she threw in the cleaning kit. [/url] Good (average) things come to those who wait. And she told me that if I'd come in last week, she had a Winchester Defender to sell.
  14. A Glock 32.
  15. I can't believe it either, but a 4" .357M Taurus 66. I got it for my wife and she didn't like (shooting) it so I traded it on a Ruger SP101. (which she didn't like either)
  16. An Ergogrip. The stock A2 handguards suck.

    YUGO M70B1

I have a Century Arms Yugo underfolder I unfortunatley paid $569 for at a local shop this summer. The overall appearance and finish isn't spectacular, but I haven't had any failures yet and it shoots about as good as an AK should. It came with 1 30-rd magazine and no cleaning rod, box or sling.
  18. It looks like he was close enough to just chuck the rifle at the deer and hope to cause a concussion.
  19. I don't know about the nickel finish, But the all Black (blued) Bersa T380 my wife has had the slide stop break at about 300 rounds just like the one she rented before we bought hers. The slide will slam shut if you tap the bottom of the frame and when you insert a loaded magazine with the slide held open.Otherwise it is perfect for her. But it aggrevates my wrists when I shoot it, though. Good Luck.
  20. How can I "not" have to log back in after 5 minuites of "idleing"? usually if I'm typing a response and it takes me a while or I get sidetracked, when I am ready to hit Submit I have to log in again. Is there someway I can turn this feature off? Or do I have to accept this because I am a really slow typist?
  21. a little off target but... Airweight magnum revolvers. They were originally built heavy for a reason. (like S&W really discovered scandium and titainium) The DPMS AP-4 in .308. Granted I've never shot one in 16" or shorter, but it does seem like it would cause more problems than it "solves". Final contribution... My Mossberg 500 "Cruiser" before the M4 stock. I think (way back when I bought it for "condo" protection) it was perfect for HD. Until I moved up to 00Buck and magnum loads, the pistol grip w/o shoulder stock filled the role perfectly for close quarter shooting.
  22. Probably because I can remember to keep my finger off of the trigger until it's time, I figured an external safety was not neccessary. Up 'till now I have only carried Glocks. (17,32 and 27) Still haven't had a Kb or ND yet.
  23. I wonder if the R&D boys at Remington researched that the stock AR pistol grip sucks and they should develop a better one like Ergo-grip and not just camo a.....Oh, I see. Nevermind.
  24. I "built" a 7.5" AR pistol from a model1sales kit. Started with a DPMS lower sans buttstock for $199. Made sure they described it as "pistol lower" when they called it in and on paperwork. The m1s kit came with the complete upper and carbine buffer tube. Added a top rail gas block and 4 rail YHM handgaurd for $580. All I had to do was install the recoil pin, buffer tube and takedown pins and I was set. The only problems I had at the range was a couple of double feeds and the D-fender I installed should fix that. I don't see where some people say that the AR pistols are loud. It wasn't much more noticeable than my 6.8 Bushy. My wife even liked shooting it and she normally doesn't like anything over a 9mm.
  25. I like the acrylic paint and syrnge technique. Might try it myself someday.
