  1. If you'd consider buying a regular 870 20 guage with full size wood furniture, I expect my son would trade his youth wood furniture for full size, as he's about to outgrow the short stock.

    How often...

I wipe off fingerprints, but rarely tear into one and give it a thorough cleaning. As others have stated, I've seen many more guns damaged by cleaning than by shooting.
  3. They all voted the same on the last case, didn't they?
  4. Could Obama make a worse Supreme Court appointment than George Bush made?
  5. He had my vote!
  6. Never sell a Smith! Buy another one, sure. Never sell one.
  7. Any idea why it has two bolt handles?
  8. Looks like a lot of fun. Hate I missed it...except for the long johns! Thanks for sharing.
  9. I see. I was thinking FBI for some reason. Thanks.
  10. Been a few days since I had one apart, but I remember putting the cocking piece against my workbench and pulling it back far enough to expose a slot in which I stick a penny. This keeps it in the cocked position, and makes for easier reassembly as I recall. You just unscrew it.
  11. I see where you are coming from. My point of view is this. Tennesse is hell on earth for those of us who suffer from seasonal allergies. So is a doctor's office for those of us who work for a living. If I could find another medication that would alleviate allergy symtoms as well as Sudafed, I'd use it and not care if there was an outright ban on Pseudoephedrine. Until then, I want my sinus medicine just as bad as an addict wants meth. I'm sure most of you are in the same situation as I am in that it is nearly impossible on my schedule to sit for hours in a doctor's waiting room for something so trivial.
  12. Who gets the $10 fee I pay everytime I am background checked?
  13. I'd have told him he owed the friend $50, or me a refund.
  14. Me too! The same with Steve Gill. If I wanted to hear constant whining, I'd stay home with the wife.
  15. $1000 per gun? My wife ain't gonna be happy with me if this pans out!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Sir, I started this thread out of frustration. You are correct in saying that I was harsher to you than I should have been. For that I apologize. I just get so frustrated in hearing that no matter what the problem is, somehow, I am the cause, or at least the solution is some sacrifice from me. As I said, we were all told that the registry system would end the meth problem. Now you say that making Sudafed a prescription drug would solve the problem. Haven't we seen this same logic with many, many, other societal problems. How many have we corrected by punishing law abiding citizens? If your logic is sound, why do we still have problems with illegal use of prescription drugs? You are more than welcome to continue posting in this thread, and I promise I'll be nicer. Probably won't change my mind about this, but I will be nicer.
  17. Now save up, go back, and get that AK!!!!
  18. Very interesting! It's been a while since I've been there, but the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville has a pretty good collection of Tennessee made firearms. I do not recall if this brand was included. Might be worth a look, ot at least a call.
  19. Then you won't really accomplish much when voting, will you? It's not that I disagree with your statement here, but I believe the two party system needs to be changed. Our efforts to that end will be much more profitable than any effort put toward electing nimrod #1 instead of nimrod #2 (Romneycare instead of Obamacare).
  20. If reelected, I believe the Democrats will focus on getting more and more citizens onto the public dole, thereby ensuring perpetual reelection of their party.....much the same plan as the Republicans have. These two groups put on a public show for you, and sit back and laugh as you swallow it, hook line and sinker. I don't see how more of you can't see this.
  21. I enjoy trading guns. I don't see the point in trading if you lose money, or break even. I certainly don't do enough volume to make an FFL a worthwhile proposition. If I make any money, it goes right back into collecting and shooting guns. I thought that was how a hobby worked. Sort of like racing cars or tornament fishing. If you win some money racing, does that make it a business instead of a hobby? I'm guessing selling to a known felon is what got these guys in trouble to begin with. If so, I've got no problem with it. I sure would like to see the laws defined more clearly as to what constitutes a business versus a hobby, however. How would buying guns as an investment differ from muscle cars, mutual funds, gold, etc? You don't, to my knowledge, need to have any business license to do any of the latter. If you look at the list of guns involved in this case, these aren't what are confiscated from drug dealers and gang bangers. These are mostly collector guns.
  22. At your age, you are far ahead of the game in your way of thinking. I'd like to share a few observations with you. I am 39 years old, have a wife and two kids. We have worked hard, and now have everything we need, and most of what we want. I have discovered in recent years that even the most successful among us are but a fart in a whirlwind in the grand scheme of things. I've also discovered that doing something you have a passion for is much more fulfilling than simply making a big pot of money. As I age, I place less and less importance on a dollar. The things I find more and more important are family, health, and helping others. You will continue to mature with age and life experience. Do what you think you love. If it turns out it's not your calling, try something else. If you do something you really like and have an interest in, you'll be great at it, and the money will come. Life is too short to spend all week doing something you dread and hate. Money is just green paper. You can spend it, save it, or give it away. Short of that, it isn't very useful. Don't obsess on it. As far as wanting more from life, if that feeling ever goes away, what point is there in living? You need to be improving, learning, and striving to do everything better as long as there is health left in your body. The key is not to obsess over it. Sometimes you just need to sit back and enjoy life for what it is.
  23. Be careful it doesn't melt!
  24. I believe Tandy Leather sells it. I'd call before I drove very far to be sure, however.
