Eye Opening Article about the NRA... Actually Not Really
gregintenn replied to Moped's topic in General Chat
Al Gore Sr. Was a crook and a politician, but did try to help Tennessee. I probably would have voted for him at the time. Al Jr. Is a whole nuther can of worms. In their case, the nut fell quite far from the tree. -
I’d like to see some names aired so I know who to avoid. Far as I can tell, I’m the first a**hole to post in this thread.

Every time the nice lady calls to solicit a donation, I politely tell her, " Ma'am, I will not donate another dime to the NRA until Wayne LaPierre and company are no longer associated with it. I would appreciate it if you could pass this message along." They never seem surprised, and act as if I'm not the first to make this statement. I am a life member from way back, and would really like my money back at this point. It is a damned shame what this once great organization has become. -
Nice buck, and an exceptionally classy rifle! Well done, sir. Well done.

I've yet to buy anything from Anderson I later regretted buying.

You can be. It’s just that the arrogant and condescending way you chose as an entry point did not go over well. I wouldn’t go to California and start telling people how they should be doing things; especially without first taking the time to learn a bit about their culture and way of life. I’d like to see you learn stick around and learn about who we are. I think you’ll be surprised.

I suppose I’ve been lucky. I have a pile of them. A factory Bushmaster, a S&W 22, and several I’ve put together with various parts and pieces of varying quality from bargain basement to top shelf. All will shoot half of this or better with no malfunctions. They are boringly reliable and accurate to a fault.

Many of us here actually know each other. There are many good, trustworthy guys on this forum. You haven’t done anything this far to command that confidence we have in one another. I dealt with contractors my entire career. I am pretty good at sniffing out bullchit. To be perfectly honest, I’m not getting a good vibe from this thread.

Not sure that’s an ammo problem. Is the bullet still in the barrel?

Interesting choice, but I don’t believe they make ‘em any longer. Finding a used one might be a chore, but I will keep an eye out.

Unless someone stocks precisely what you want, I would suggest buying parts and assembling one yourself. Cheaper and better than buying something and then spending a small fortune swapping out parts to suit you. Anderson and Palmetto State make passable receivers. Many companies sell serviceable lower and upper parts kits. Put your money in a good barrel and good trigger. There really isn’t any magic in a quality AR.

Is there a bad one?

The average gun enthusiast wants .gov to adhere to the second amendment as it was written. “Shall not be infringed” is a pretty simple concept to understand. There should be NO restrictive gun laws. There should be NO BATFE. You don’t need a poll for that. Leave us alone as the constitution requires. There is NO room for compromise. None!!!
