  1. My mini-30 has not a single FTF or FTE. All issues relatd to poor quality USA mags. A hogue overmold stock and nikon 32mm scope have made mine relatively accurate with cheap ammo. I would not sell mne.

    glock 34

YEp, I have a g34. It i a great platform. Lonewlf is the way to go.
  3. I think it would make a fine hunting rifle. The FNAR is likely the most accurate semi auto that you can pickup for less than $1400. Also, they're not that heavy. Mine is a light barrel that tips the scale at 8.2lbs.

    Miniguns

Checkout the Desantis Nemesis. I've come to love the one for my NAA Guardian .32
  5. Of course, you could buy a Surefire "tactical" pen. They're known for they great "writing and fighting" abilities, plus they break auto glass as well. You can pick one up for $125. My wife recently gave me a khaki colored one, and they do write very nicely. PLus Surefire doesn't hate you!

    AR 15 suggestions

I like my bushmaster and doublestar fine. I could not justify the price of the Ruger. CDNN had S&W MP15s for $749, which seems very reasonable.
  8. I have a Ruger M77/22. Its a fun rifle that is very accurate.

    bersa 9mm

The Bersa Firestorms are awesome. The Llama built firestorms are not.
  10. I was going to suggest the FNAR, but just read your post. New advice, get the m1a if you need or want an auto. If you want a bolt, get the 700 (or any other nice bolt PBR, A-bolt, M77-mkII, savage, etc) .
  11. What is "the best" org or club to join for Tennessee residents? I'd like to support something local...
  12. I've had a couple of receiver sights on my 1894S. I never liked the mounting setup on any of the ones that I tried. I just pulled the Williams WGRS from mine and replaced with a Leupold VX2 4x20. The WGRS would have been the best, but I did not want to tap top of the receiver.
  13. I had one a long time ago. Not a single failure. The trigger was a bit stiff and plastic feeling.
  14. We are going to need to see some pics. You are building some major gun pron. I've been very happy with my FNAR / Pentax lightseeker combo. Now, 'm feeling quite jealous. Also, are you planning to add a bipod? I want one, but it must be very light and reasonably priced.

    New job!

that is great..hope new job goes well.
  16. Gander advertised them in yesterday's tab for $329. I think supply issue finally caught up. For months I have been on several waiting list for MSRP. 2 of the shops called about 3 weeks ago. I passed due to going another route. Both shops lowered price to SIGNIFICANTLY to try to entice me to purchase.
  17. The trail runner..Toyota Land Cruiser in buildup to replace.. The recently sold trooper.. Lexus GS430...Suprisingly quick.
  18. Given your price point, I would definitely for with an auto. There are a number of very good autos out there. I like the wood and blue steel Beneilli, Berreta, Browning, Remington and Winchester autos.
  19. I still picked up several firearms from Franklin. I lived about mile from the shop, so it was mainly from convenience. Here's my main beef. You guys are overpriced and waaay too pushy. An unnamed principal is so pushy that he reminds me of timeshare salesman. My other beef is that I cannot trust a couple of the guys due to a prior experience. Years ago in the original location, I was handling a used Charles Daly 1911 Stainless empire grade. The unnamed "pushy principal" nosed in and applied the hard sell while providing all kinds of accolades for the pistol. I ended up purchasing the pistol. About a year later, I attempted to trade the 1911 on a Glock 34. Same individuals offered about 1/3 of what I paid and told me that the Daly was not something that they would recommend. All that said, I welcome you guys to TGO and hope that you'll become a vendor. Mark
  20. FYI, Magazine supply is not an issue rifght now, but FN raised pricing last week. If you can find them for $50 buy them quickly. Most sites are now $80-86. I was glad that mine shipped. AS far as optics go, I added a Pentax lightseeker. I love the setup.

    First Deer Gun

Wow, your son is going to be big one. My boys are 6, 8 and 10, but they are much lighter. I'm planning to pickup a .243. In my opinion, it is a great caliber. Very accurate. Low recoil. Fairly inexpensive.
  22. I was a fan until FN raised mag prices to $90. Mine is going on the sale block soon. AI think the federals will suit you well. FYI, Here's a post from another website: "Local shop has the 20rd mags for $49.99 The Arms Room 281-332-0706"
  23. Anyone received one of these yet? I'm thinnking about placing an order.
  24. My favorite is Hero. Their service and selection is unmatched. My least favorite is Franklin Gun Shop. Selection in very good, but I find them a bit pushy and overpriced. Years ago, I purchased on their recommendation a Charles Daley Stainless Empire grade 1911. A couple of years later, I tried to trade on a Glock 34. Same guy told me that the Daly was junk. I have not been back.
