Like it says the Glock armorers course is being held at Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville on April 22nd. I'm going, anybody else? GLOCK Training

The direction this thread is going reminded me of something I saw recently. I never watched 'Get Smart' and caught it on tv the other day. The bad guy in the film was talking about blowing up Los Angeles and his sidekick said something about 'what about all the celebrities?' and the main guy said 'oh, what will we do without all the political insight of our hollywood celebrities?' It got a good chuckle out of me.

haha, thats my one track mind for ya!

WORD:tough: I especially like the edited version of the original! I figured as much but it just looked odd at first glance.

+1, I'm not a fan either, but to each his own...didn't want to offend the op

I didn't take the time to read all replies, I don't have a problem with oc but I don't do it. I sometimes use a blackhawk serpa but its always covered up for the most part. I quoted that specific statement to ask this... are you sure he wasn't a LEO, I mean most organizations I'm familiar with require officers to take armorers courses for the firearms they use? My cousin was gone to one this past weekend for some new ar15's his dept purchased, and he mentioned he had to recert for the glock and something else soon.

I always deal with the same place for transferswhen I order guns and stuff and when I call I basicall say this: Hey this is 'insert your name' and I need you to fax your ffl to 'insert online dealers name and number' And that is basically it. You have to call them because the online dealer won't ship without an ffl being faxed or sent some other way to them. Make sure you give your transfer dealer your name as well. I've ran in to this once and don't want to do it again. My transfer dealer forgot to put my name in with the fax and the online dealer had no idea why they got an ffl faxed to them. I spent alot of time on the phone with them to straighten that one out.

Looks alot like one of lone wolfs slides but its not (I can see the glock logo), their supposed to have a frame coming out that I wouldn't mind checking out. Lone Wolf Distributors - Main Page I've thought about buying a g17 and adding the ext. slide release, ext. mag release, magwell, and a all out competition kit to shoot comps with. I'm taking the armorers course in April so hopefully i'll get some good info from them about doing that. My g19 is stock, but i've considered getting the 3.5# connector for it and see if I like it.

i'm confused... did glockmiester change his name or did you copy and paste something, including his sig?

yep, lots of echos in this thread about safeties etc... imho the indicators on xds are useless, if i'm checking my weapon its visual (of the chamber) and physical. They wouldn't make me not buy an xd, but I wouldn't buy one because of them either.

CCA (coal creek armory) has rentals as far as I know, and would most likely have a glock you could shoot (saw your other thread). Its in Knoxville btw.

where is suntzu when you need to tell someone what a safety is I like glocks, don't like compensated models myself, somebody else that likes them may have better info on those, they may be beneficial for competition purposes. As for the conversions, maybe glockmiester will chime in on this one but 9mm-.40 is a no go. You can get a 23 and go down to a 9mm but I wouldn't do it myself. A glock 19 is a fine handgun though, I love mine. Make sure to get a hold of one first. The glock grip doesn't work for everybody but it works for me and naturally points better than any of my others past and present (although that may just be my familiarity with the model). Safety features? Every gun is loaded, glocks go bang when you pull the trigger. Welcome to the shooting world!

I love glocks, but i'm no hater, like xd's too. I personally can't stand the look of s&w's polymers and don't want to spend the money on sigs (but do have a p238). I think that alot of people love to shoot whatever they had early experiences (enjoyable ones) shooting with. Mine was a glock, and i've liked them ever since. Never seen one with problems myself, owned an xd40 and never had any problems with it either, just prefer the glock. I like the way the xds shoot but don't really like the looks too much (not bad just not preferable to me). I've never even seen a lead (unjacketed) bullet in 9mm in a store or anything, come to think of it don't think i've ever seen a centerfire auto pistol caliber unjacketed. The only lead bullets i've ever seen were .38's, i've never owned a revovler so i've not seen many. I wouldn't let that dissuade me from buying a glock....just sayin.

Could you rub that in a bit more, i'm still jealous because of your show and tell:cry:. Shoot the dmr yet? I want one, maybe they'll make a sig762 or something.

xd is a good choice, I'm a glock guy, but i've owned an xd and it was a fantastic shooter.

AR-15 / M-16 / M-4 ARMORING COURSE in Waverly TN

dangit, wish I would've seen this post in January! -
I saw this video a year or so ago and have been looking for it since i've seen a couple links to videos with related content (military, fallen soldier tributes etc..). Its a pretty good song if you like country alright, and its probably been posted before but I couldn't find it on here. 3:37-end will tug at you if your anything like me (I teared up).
-
you'll get better, theres lots of info out there to soak up, formal instruction is always a great option. Enjoy your new hobby!

If everyone on here that owned a .40 chimed in (lets say 10 people) you'd probably get 10 different responses on the preferred ammo and the occassional 'I like the one mentioned before but I use this one'. Just have to try some out. Blazer, UMC, WWB (winchester white box) are good for practice in just about any caliber. For HD you'll probably hear Cor-Bon, Speer, Federal, Hornady, etc... I haven't bought .40 in a long time especially for home/self defense so check this link out: Ammunition For The Self-Defense Firearm Other factors for hd ammo always come into play i.e., availability, price (your willing to pay), and a really important one... what your gun likes to eat!

^theres gotta be a typo in there somewhere...like 8 times OUT OF 50 ROUNDS or 8 times AT 50 yards. If its the latter, I don't know what to tell you, doubt many people have tried to shoot their pistol 50yards. As Bob Lee Swagger would say "thats a far piece" (for a pistol). Concentrate on 3 yards, then see how you do.

The warranty work was about the comsmetics, the chip in the beavertail.
-
Well, I was on hold for about 30 minutes but I read on here somewhere that it is better to stay on hold than to leave a message for callback cause they never call back. He told me to email him a pic, I sent three, he emailed me back saying it would be covered under warranty work and asked for my address.
-
hopefully my mag will work, the guy at sig wanted pics of that beavertail and told me to send it in for warranty work, guess they'll give me a whole new frame dunno?

I'd consider getting one myself and spend the funds on a mount, rings and scope and later on down the road I could add a nicer stock. It should by default have the same action and trigger as the LE model 10's, barrel may or may not be as nice, don't know?
