  1. Poop on Sig. I'm never going to buy a new gun from them, let alone a .22. Their .22 conversions and the Sig Mosquito are overpriced disasters.
  2. Tip up barrel pistol. Look at a Beretta Tomcat or something similar.
  3. G36 would probably be your best bet. If you're really interested in a 220 compact, check out CDNN. They have a pretty good deal on 220 Compacts w/ night sights, elite beavertail, and SAO trigger w/ thumb safety. You could also look for a third gen S&W compact .45 like a 4516 or a CS45.
  4. Maybe they own a beet pickling facility too and that's how they're getting their brine. They're getting it on all ends.
  5. If you have a limited budget, I'm telling you it is plain stupid to buy a P22 or Sig. I had a Sig and it wouldn't feed halfway right with bulk cheap Wally World ammo. If you're willing to shell out 8 bucks per 100 for CCI Minimags, then yeah, it works OK. It'll only jam once or twice a mag. The sights aren't that good and the trigger isn't anything like a real Sig. Plus, while the whole thing looks pleasing over the internet, handle one and you'll know it feels like a cheap airsoft. Same with the P22. If you're looking for a pistol to ogle, then yes, by all means, get a Sig Mosquito or a P22. Or an airsoft. If you're looking for a pistol so you can train really hard with a certain platform, spend the extra $100-300 and get a CZ Kadet or Glock with AA conversion or a P220 w/ .22 conversion or whatever. If you're looking to learn how to shoot a pistol because you've never done that before, then get a hard wearing pistol that will last you forever, will outshoot you for a considerable amount of time, and will feed cheap ammo (I mean 550/$15 cheap) reliably. Trigger time is trigger time up to a certain point, and trigger time with a Sig Mosquito isn't worth any more than trigger time with a single action Mark II/III, especially if you've never shot much before. My personal pick is the Neos. Less than $250 and rock solid, plus mags are dirt cheap. You learn to shoot that, you can shoot anything.
  6. Neither of these pistols have what you'd call a rock solid rep. They're expensive but only because they look and feel like large caliber pistols. If you want to get a .22 pistol that will last you forever and a day, Browning or Ruger has what you want. If you want an inexpensive but reliable pistol, you should look at a Beretta Neos. If you're looking for something a bit more tacticool, you can check out the GSG 1911 .22. It has a pretty solid rep for a new design.
  7. Saw on a billboard near I65 that they're matching or beating all competitors prices. When they first opened they said they'd match prices, but then refused to do so when I asked. Wonder what they'd do if I came in with a CDNN catalog.
  8. I went by there. Prices are stupid high, inventory is stupid low. 30% of their inventory was overpriced CZ-82's.
  9. Reads like a lot of double dealing is going on. The last shoot out this agency was in was back in '94 and they need brand new weapons every couple of years?
  10. Just went. You really can't go wrong with any of the resorts, although we chose to stay off park and had a wonderful time there. The food at Disney is always edible and sometimes very good. There are always food coupons available, although they're only active during certain times of the day (off-peak hours). Downtown Disney is kind of neat, though I wouldn't plan on spending an entire day or anything there. If you've looked at ticket prices, you know the price falls off dramatically the more days you buy. If you're planning on going again next year, you might want to think about buying a ton of days up front. They're good until you die or Disney folds. Also, you can buy more days after your stay at the bulk rate. Park hopper makes more sense if you're staying for longer than a couple of days. Animal Kingdom is very cool and the Safari ride is a must do. Epcot is very boring and for some reason the rides run out of Fast Passes almost instantly. Soarin' and Test Track are the most popular rides, and should be done at least once, but not really that great. Magic Kingdom is fun but it can be insanely crowded. The Hollywood park is probably the weakest, but the new Star Tours might be open by the time you get down there.
  11. Interesting. I'm sure this will sell well. The Judge appealed to a lot of first time gun buyers, as they get suckered in with the whole "It's a mini-shotgun and you can load it with .45 badass bullets too" argument.
  12. Is there already a thread on this? I was looking on gunblast for shot show pictures and I saw some fairly interesting things and a lot of ho-hum things. 1) DB9. Like the troublesome DB380 from Diamondback, except 9mm, 11 oz, and 500 bucks MSRP. 2) M&P 22. .22 pistol built like a 9mm M&P full size. Looks interesting 3) Chiappa Rhino. Finally got those out, except after owning a Chiappa 1911, I doubt I'll be picking one up. 4) "New" PM9? That's what Jeff called it. Dunno whats new about it. 5) Colt Mustang. They're bringing it back. Guess they're kicking themselves for selling the design to Sig.
  13. Snooze. I'm sure it'll be like 600+ bucks.
  14. I wish they sold a version without the laser for even cheaper. I'm thinking hard about one because of the recent price drop and reports that they've worked the major kinks out of it (gun falling apart while shooting, trigger issues) on guns with a post EAF serial #. It's light, it's not striker fired, and it has a working slide stop. I wish it had trench sights like the LCP, but oh well. I suppose real sights are a plus for some.
  15. Late to the party, twice the price as the others, and not to scale...sure to be a winner.
  16. If you determined street value, how come you can't find any on the street? You should be tripping over them at $225, right? I had a Buckmark. It was OK. Felt more prissy than the Ruger. Not picky about ammo. Not really my cup of tea in the end.
  17. Cheap, local, and safe. You can keep the urban combat zone if it makes it that much more expensive.

    24/7 G2

I doubt very much that it can hold 15+1 .40 rounds in a subcompact frame. There is no way unless they learned to triple stack bullets or something crazy like that. Look at a G27...9+1 that's about the maximum for that length of grip. If it's like a 709 trigger wise, it might be pretty good. If it's anything like the Milleniums...pass.
  19. I was looking at a M&P 9 or 40 for a while before I gave up on the idea. The M&Ps felt nice and they were easier to shoot with precision, but I ended up with a Glock 19 and 23. Why? -Glock 19 is lighter -Glock 19 is smaller -Glock 19 holds 15 rounds in a compact body (it's so efficient!) -Glock 19 is accurate and I can shoot them well enough -Glock 19 mags are dirt cheap -Glock 19 has a proven reputation -Glock 19 has a .22 conversion kit available -Glock holsters are interchangeable to a point and everybody makes one When M&Ps are on blowout again with some crazy rebate offer, I might get one.
  20. The answer is definitely surface area to volume ratio. There's a reason you don't see cells the size of bowling balls.
  21. Yes, it will make a difference, and you can never have too many Glocks anyhow. I say go for it.
  22. I'm all with you, but this is for my sister. I'm trying to talk her into getting a nice used Honda or Toyota but she seems pretty set on a lease and it's her money.
  23. 7D is extremely nice, but I just upgraded to a 5D and I'm in heaven. I love the full frame...I get to use all my old manual focus lenses with adapters.
  24. Anyone know of or can anyone recommend any stellar leasing deals floating around these days? Looking for a 2-3 year period with about 15k miles a year. Any help would be appreciated. Dealing with car dealers without knowing what to expect first is a losing proposition.
  25. Guns and Leather will hook you up. Take your handgun there to be shipped, they only charge you their shipping cost.
