  1. I had an all metal RAMI that I still regret selling. Well, mostly regret: it was a sweet shooter, but the safety blows. I would never carry one cocked and locked. If you can't rack the slide...may I suggest weight lifting? Or I have a nice tip up Beretta I could swap you...
  2. Visited family in CA and that's one of the few things they have a leg up on us. Bottle of Glenfidditch is ~20 dollars there. Cousin drinks it like it's Taaka.
  3. Rowan's Creek Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey Four Roses Small Batch (I think it's better than the Single Barrel) Glen Moray 12 year John L. Sullivan Irish Whiskey
  4. Skeeters have garbage reliability. However, those strikes look pretty good on those minimags...sure it wasn't the ammo?
  5. I suppose. I never thought shooting a 23 or 22 was that ornerous compared to a 19 or 17. I haven't shot a 3 and 4 side by side yet.
  6. I prefer the Gen 2's. Gen 4 is slightly thinner with no backstrap than a Gen 3, but not enough to make me want to pay a premium over a Gen 3. Dual recoil spring....they were using Glocks for decades with a single. Who cares.
  7. Yeah, my TCP is pretty awesome. I really dig the trigger, it's nearly half the weight of a 238, it has fixed sights (which I think is a pro in a pocket pistol) and it feeds ball flawlessly. And mine was only 182 + transfer fee, brand new. I can get almost 3 TCPs or 1 238...
  8. And where do they get their money? From the government. Your argument makes zero sense. This is showboating for his constituency and a complete waste of money. I'm more about the dollars and cents than what's "fair" and "unfair".
  9. My 238 was garbage brand new from the box. Had to go back twice, if not three times, before I could sell it in good conscience. It's funny how your own experiences color your opinions, because I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole. I also will never touch another Sig product until it goes through the paces with the general public. They can R&D on their own dime, not mine. Sig 220, 226, 229, 228, 225, 232...all solid. New guns are garbage.

    Glocks

Perfect size, inexpensive, holds 15 rounds of 9mm, accurate, reliable and only weighs ~20 ozs. If the ergos were a little better, other manufacturers would have quit by now.

    Glocks

G19 might well be the perfect hand gun...
  12. Weight? The 238 was barely pocketable. If this adds more than an oz or two, may as well carry a Glock 19. Also, I bit on the 238 the second it came out and it was a mistake. Last I checked the 238 had 4 iterations and several modifications to make it reliable. I think I'll wait a year or so before I even think about one of these.

    New XDS

29oz unloaded....seems really heavy. Heavier than a New Agent.
  14. If you wanted cheap, you should have picked up a 9mm. I would recommend getting a .22 conversion if it's available for the pistol you purchased. And I would +1 on not buying someone else's handloads...it's not worth saving 20-30 cents a round to have your gun blow up in your hand.
  15. I think they have an obligation to charge him correctly. I think if he had done his homework he would have just purchased the pistol online. The fact that he was misled about the pistol and charged the wrong amount points to malice because the obvious giveaways that differentiate a Gen 3 from a Gen 4 Glock should be glaringly apparent to anyone who has even seen the two side by side. As you say, it says Gen 4 on the side. I wouldn't expect a new gun owner to know that, but someone who sells them? Yeah, he should be able to tell the difference just from the # of backstraps supplied...1 vs 3. Or the # of mags supplied. Or how the darn thing just looks. Might have been a mistake, but it's a pretty big one.
  16. P07 is a nice piece ergonomically. I hope they worked the kinks out of the 9mm version and applied what they learned to the .40, because the 9mm I had was too unreliable to do anything but play with. I mean, how the hell does the entire trigger system rely on plastic guides in the receiver that like to just fall out of the gun? Had to send it back 2x and then sold it when they got it working halfway decent again.
  17. Ugh, I can't believe they pump out so many of these when they're all THE EXACT SAME. MW2=MW=Black Ops, pretty much. Why don't they update a good game, like Counter-Strike? It was sacrilegious when they tried Condition Zero and when they stopped supporting original CS and made CS: Source, but in the end, it was still tons of fun. I'm sick of MW. Think of something new, please. Maybe do a throwback and try the WWII formula again. Haven't seen a good WWII shooter in a good long while.
  18. Very cool. Maybe some day I'll be brave enough to start modifying a Glock. I love 'em but they don't fit my hands that great.
  19. Anyone inclined to buy one? $700 for a 9mm that is bigger and heavier than a LC9 (not to mention the PM9, PF-9, and the new DB9) with a 8-9lb trigger pull. Sounds like Sig has got a new line of firearms to blow out like the 250s.
  20. What's up with the Glock to the right? Is the grip distorted from the camera or is that some sort of custom SF job?
  21. I'd love that 3904. Do you think they'd ship?
  22. Yes, it was clean. You can do a google search on it, a lot of people have experienced the same problem. A trip to S&W solves it.
  23. The way I figure, if you could trust corporations and government, unions wouldn't have cropped up in the first place. All you have to do is look at third world countries (or former third world) or our own history to see that workers get exploited at every turn. Unions aren't perfect, but they can give the lowly working man a fairer shake than laissez faire. Thanks Buttonhook. I think people crap on teachers because they figure they're just dealing with kids all day. And ignorant people like to crap the most. And as for WI specifically, I think the governor lost all credibility when he turned down the Unions offer to take paycuts. If you're doing this to save money, then save the money. If you're doing this to bust up unions, then say so.
  24. There was a reported problem with the PPS not cocking when you chamber a round sometimes. It happened to the PPS .40 I had, although it took me 3 range trips to start seeing the problem. G&L took care of it, but it would be a bit sticky to pull the trigger in a situation and not have anything happen.
