Yay!!!...No more security at the Expo Center Shows
hipower replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Is it worth the drive from Nashville? I've been thinking I'd like to see some different people and products from those in the middle Tn area. -
I missed out on those that day. As you say, really a pretty good case for generic use. I haven't heard how well they do or don't work in full water immersion situations.

Great looking gun. Now try the 45acp version.

As for Sucker Punch....not only don't bother, run...not walk, away from that waste of time. I foolishly started and regretably, finished it.

Jeff at G&L in greenbriar is great. And Sam in Gallatin has a great rep as well, although I've never met the man or used him for any work. And there's John Wall at Eastside Gun Shop. He's done a little work for me on several revolvers and I've always been very satisfied.

Great buy on that one. I started out wanting the glock mage version, then realized I had a number of hicap baretta mags...so that's the one I got. Hope you enjoy it.

Too many great ones to choose from. After my first post, I went and watched Heat again this afternoon. Man, what a great movie. And Open Range is awesome as well. Can't change my choices, but have to say these are up there at the top as well.

Go to TaurusArmed.net A Taurus forum. I think you'll find a lot of information there.

Have had several Taurus pistols over the years since my first, the PT 100 40 cal. Several of the Millenium Pro in both 40 and 45. Also had one the first generation standard 145 guns. I've been lucky, as some would say, in that I've never had a problem with any of mine. Had a Millenium 9mm as a carry for a while, then switched to the Milpro 145. Really liked it a lot. As I got more funds, I have tended to upgrade the Name and quality of my guns, but still have what I consider to be the best of those I bought early on. Last one I got was a 24/7 Pro DS in 45, but I haven't taken it to the range yet. If you don't find any obvious defects in the frame or function cycling the action, I wouldn't be afraid of one. Taurus can be one of the best values for the money out there, especially in the used market. JMO

A little older, but how about the entire movie...The Wild Bunch. The bank robbery shootout. Then the finale itself. Wow. Then there's the sorta lame ripoff...Extreme Predjice. And one of my all-time favorites...The Wild Geese. Yeah, older stuff for a lot of guys here now, but classic fight scenes nonetheless.

I don't know that I'd consider it rude, maybe prudent. But anytime I go to a meet, I tell someone where I'm going and leave them the same info I get. Then I'll call that person to tell them the deal is done. There have been a couple of times, because of the location, that I have asked someone to go along, but I have, wise or not, usually informed the other party that someone would be with me. This is when it's someone I don't know or haven't dealt with before.

Lay off the late-night snacks, it'll all clear up and you'll go back to dreaming of young curvacious women with guns again.

I don't know. I kinda like it. Gets better each time I see it. Just fun to watch Travolta and Forrest Whittaker.

FFL transfers are not necessary.

Buyer and seller arrange a meeting in a mutually agreed place and time. Pick a location known that you feel comfortable in, usually a parking lot in major business area. Walmart, K-mart, someplace with visiblity if you're unsure of the person. Exchange info on how to recognize each other, usually vehicle type. Meet, inspect purchase, exchange money. It's really that simple, just excercise caution as you would going into an unknown area and situation. Be aware of your surroundings and the person(s) you meet. Be discreetly armed if you so desire. Conduct yourself purposefully and watch the other person. If it is possible, check the seller's posts here, the number of posts, does he seem liked, well-known, honest(?) in his dealings with other members, and his profile. Of course a person could put down anything on the profile page, so get a feel for him from your conversations and whatever info you can get here. The seller will probably want to see a Tn liscence and or a HCP, possibly want you to sign a simple bill of sale. You may want one as well. Most of all, just be aware and alert. I've bought from several members here over the years, both locally and from some at a distance, without any problems. Perhaps I'm being niave, but I think 99%+ of the guys here are reputable, honest and above average people. But there's always that bad apple that can show up. Could be misrepresentation of himself or his merchandise. Just be aware fo yourself, him, and your surroundings. Not trying to upset or scare, just be prudent in your actions in this as you would in anything else you do. Others could probably say this better than me, but I tried. Again, just be alert and aware. If something seems too good to be true... Or something bothers you about the meet...call the seller immediately. I assume you got a contact number? Now go get your new gun.

Agree with dubaholic2. Found a great price on the kit recently; but after handling and working with it, I just couldn't make myself buy it. Didn't like the feel of the trigger either. Which was really a letdown, have several sigs and love them.

Unfortunately, scum continue to be found in all parts of the country. And probably woundn't think of resisting.

Bob Pope in the Tennessean talking about private sales
hipower replied to shortround's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As far as I, he's still into the porno and strip club stuff. And supposedly got most of his money from selling off the family farm he inherited in the Symrna area. But in any event, don't understand this little outburst or why he'd be so upset since he sold his gun show promotion business. -
Will if you were closer, you'd be more than welcome to borrow a cage trap or my gammo air rifle. That sucker is rated at 1200 fps velocity and wil take a squirril right out. But I swear it's louder than a 22lr shot. Good luck. Maybe some close to you could lend a cage trap.

These traps work. I've caught many squirrels while trying to catch a possum.
-
Same here. At that price, it's tempting enough to want one for a spare.

Have to agree with Garufa. Not a fan of the Kahr trigger. Had a K9 for a while. Accurate, but really couldn't come to like the long trigger pull.
