  1. Just to be the oddball, I vote for the 30 over the 36. Two reasons. I find the 30 much more accurate for me than the 36. And I just plain like the feel of the 30 better. Can't say I could tell much difference in them as far as felt recoil.
  2. Natural Leader? I aways considered myself a skeptic. You must earn my trust and respect.
  3. Amen. God's Blessings to Jon and his precious faithful companion.
  4. bluemailman53, if you don't get this, would you point me in the right direction? I'd sure like to look at this, maybe even take it home.
  5. " and it now will be my home defense gun." That's just not right, buddy. You'll be drummed out of the Hipower Fan Club ( the gun, that is, not my fan club; mine doesn't have many members), for comments like that.

strickj can do anything! Just ask him. Then duck.
  7. Times really vary. Number to process, time of the month, and general attitude of the state workers on any given day, seem to be a few of the variables involved.
  8. Although I may regret saying this later...how about a Springer 5" 45 XD Tactical thrown in the mix. I have a 4" that was pretty good, but got hold of the Tactical the other day...it was really great. In fact, I'm buying it. Yeah, almost blasphemous.
  9. I liked Philly's Police Commissioner, Charles Ramsey's comments about 4:40 into the interview..."stupid, irresposponsible, no excuse for that kind of behavior..." A very intelligent response.
  10. For me, it's not a question of hating a particular gun. In fact, I really can't say that I've hated any one I've ever owned. Many that I've liked less than others, or wanting one more than another so I had to sell one to buy another. In general, I really just want'em all.
  11. Not to put too big an "attaboy" on graycrait's comments, but, in gereral, I'd have to say I'm 80% in agreement with him. For carry, I still feel more comfortable with a variety of autoloaders and revolvers. I believe each has a place and a purpose where it is best suited. I came to the 1911 later in my gun like, really only about 5 years ago. I really, really like them; but in all honesty, they will never be more than one of several house guns and beloved range toys for me. Not downing the gun, caliber, or platform. I think they're great. In fact I have several, and am looking at adding another. But considering my age, shooting style and ability, general body shape...I usually have a pocket pistol and either a G30, Rami 2075, or PT145 as carry weapons. Perhaps not what everyone would choose, but they work for me. And I'm pretty confident and competent with them. I'll never be a champion shooter, but they satisfiy my needs. Not necessarily all my desires...but good defensive weapons nonetheless. And not that I consider the 1911 design dated or outclassed by 99% of handguns; It's just what I've shot and carried for most of my armed life.

    New Toy

    Very Nice.
  13. How wrong is it to say I want one?
  14. Very well said sir. The only thing I will add is that my wife likes to see what I buy, just to see me talk about it. And always says that as long as bills are paid and we don't have them overflow the house...I can buy anything I can pay for.
  15. Try pork. I've been getting a lot of pork roasts lately. Grilled or baked. Makes great meals or quick sandwiches. And at least for now...it's still safe to eat.

    Revolver to Auto

DING! Now we have the best awnser. At least for me.
  17. Uuuh...those same worthless politicians?
  18. It'll do in a rush.
  19. Couldn't agree more.
  20. Did something similar some time back before we moved. As usual, kids destroying the boexes and knocking down posts. After the second one, I took a 4" aluminum fence post, sunk it 2 feet in the ground with 2 60 Lb sackcret bags around it. Then attached the mailbox frame to a piece of rebar and put it in the fence post, filling around it with more sackret... Had about the same results you did. The box and post was still up when we moved.
  21. Naw, leave the idiot on. He just seems to get more and more out of it.
  22. My friend, you took the words right out of my mouth. To have done such a thing is beyound description...To experience it must be totally uimaginable.
