He will simply use "Executive Action" on Syria such as he has with issues related to gun control, immigration and such to achieve Valerie's his goals. He does not need no stinkin' Congress to approve his actions, according to Jarret "it's important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."

If the cowards in charge of the Republican Party in TN would close the Primaries as most States do, we could cure this problem. As it is, we will never have a true Conservative in the Governors Mansion, or, as our federal Senator again, unless Putin strikes Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis over this Syria thing...

Help me understand the license requirements on farmland.
Worriedman replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Landowners, (and their spouses and children) of farmland may hunt without actually residing on the land without license if they are legal residents of the State. Tenants must live on the land to be eligible for that deal. http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/pdfs/farmlicense.pdf TCA 70-2-204. Hunting and fishing on farm land — License exemption to owner, tenants and their spouses and children. – (a) The owners and tenants of farmlands, and their spouse and children, have the right to engage in the sport of hunting and fishing, subject to all the provisions of all laws or regulations concerning wildlife, upon such lands and waters thereon of which they or their spouses or parents are the bona fide owners or tenants with the permission of the landowner, during the season when it is lawful to do so, without procuring a hunting and sport fishing license. Tenants and their spouses and their dependent children must be bona fide residents of the state and must actually reside on the land. Owners and their spouses and children must be bona fide residents of the state. Land may qualify as farmland only if it is owned by no more than one (1) individual or a family; provided, that if land is owned jointly or in common by persons who are first cousins related by blood, then such cousins and their children may hunt small game and fish on such land under the provisions of this subsection. “Family†means any combination of kinship within the third degree including any spouse who has an interest in the property. “Tenant†means an individual who receives compensation such as free rent or money for acting either in the place of or at the direction of the landowner in tending to the requirements needed to care for the farmland. The primary purpose of the tenancy shall be agricultural in nature. -
TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons

You are correct, which would in effect render 39-11-611 moot. -
TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons
Worriedman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Correct me if I am wrong, but even though you could not legally carry in a Knoxville park, if you fired a weapon in justified self defense, you could not be charged prior to now for that action, or do I err in my understanding? -
TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons
Worriedman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I do not trust Nashville, Knoxville or Memphis, Davidson, Knox or Shelby County (legislator that asked for the opinion was from Knox County I believe)to not pass an ordinance allowing only Law Enforcement to discharge weapons. Prior to this opinion, I would not have imagined that they would have. As for Constitutional Carry, you can forget that as long as Haslam is Governor and the Speakers of the House and Senate remain the same. -
TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons
Worriedman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The State TCA preempted any City code, but now with the new "Opinion" judges may see it differently. Other states have a full preemption for that very reason, I suspect we will need one now as well. 39-17-1322 was a defense IF the discharge was involved in a self defense act, not so much now. What if the event takes place inside your Castle? Could you be charged for firing a weapon to save your life in a home invasion if you live inside the City Limits? Kind of limits the enjoyment of Article 1 Section 26 does it not? Would this set aside citizen's arrest rules in a city that had rules against firearms discharge? 39-11-621. Use of deadly force by private citizen. A private citizen, in making an arrest authorized by law, may use force reasonably necessary to accomplish the arrest of an individual who flees or resists the arrest; provided, that a private citizen cannot use or threaten to use deadly force except to the extent authorized under self-defense or defense of third person statutes, §§ 39-11-611 and 39-11-612. I read nothing that says "except in a City that has rules against discharging a weapon." -
TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons
Worriedman replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If some of those cities you lived in were in TN, you could not have been charged with a crime IF you discharged a weapon in justifiable self defense since the change to the TCA which allowed self defense (39-17-1322). This opinion places the city above the State with respect to the issue. -
He duct taped it of course. 87 years old, waste not, want not. He told me I needed to cut it first, (gave me about 20 more today) as it might leak...had it wrapped in Wal Mart bag to cover up the pasting...

Nashville Tea Party meeting tomorrow about Lamar
Worriedman replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think you have it pretty much summed up. But, we have to remember he is an attorney, and they are not taught Constitutional Law, they are force fed tort stuff, it would be counter productive for the Establishment if the lawyers really understood the Constitution. I remember watching a Democrat lawyer (Lowe Finney) and a Republican lawyer (Brian Kelsey) both absolutely either lie about the 10th Amendment, or so badly misunderstand its reason for being that I threw up in my mouth in a Senate Judiciary hearing on SB250 last year. They both said the supremacy clause trumped the 10th. -

I don't know that he "stumbled", he just did not seem prepared to really light into a full frontal answer. The question was what would the candidate do regarding recent Presidential actions or something to that effect. Carr was off his stool and frothing at the bit, but then he has always been a real meat and potatoes 2nd Amendment guy. Kevin is a lawyer, and seemed to be measuring his response. The Punisher can expand. -
Maggart had all the same backing, so it COULD be done. And remember, Cruz beat the same odds in Texas. Once his real voting record gets out, it will look different. We saw a poll today that shows once the facts are put to the average TN voter, Alexander only pulls 24%. That is about the true very liberal Republicans in the State. Of course we have to beat the Democrats as well, as they all love, and will vote for, Lamar. Our spineless Super-majority will not close the primaries for this very reason, they need Democrats to keep their liberals in office.

Nashville Tea Party meeting tomorrow about Lamar
Worriedman replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There will be five (5) events total across the State to give voters a chance to see these two. Brenda Leonard failed to show today, so that will take her out of the other four (4). Three of the remaining venues will be Johnson City, Maryville, and Memphis, old age prevents me from remember the last, but I will try and garner that information and report. -
All we would have to do is change out three State politicians to pull this off, Haslam, Harwell and Ramsey...

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
Worriedman replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
From a New York Times interview with then Senator Obama, November 2007: "I would meet directly with Syrian leaders. We would engage in a level of aggressive personal diplomacy in which a whole host of issues are on the table…but right now the only incentive that exists is our president suggesting that if you do what we tell you, we may not blow you up. My belief about the regional powers in the Middle East is that they don’t respond well to that kind of bluster. They haven’t in the past, there’s no reason to think they will in the future." (bold emphasis mine) He could have a face to face with Assad in Tehran... -

TN AG: Cities can ban firing weapons

Evidently it has been a problem in other states, AZ, WA and FL have legislatively addressed the issue. From the Opinion:
