  1. Where is the CMP store?
  2. Put your two rear tires/wheels on the front, and the ones on the front to the back. Based on what you have said, it seems like the new tire/wheel might be the cause, but I do not know why. If that tire is new and the others are pretty worn, could be a problem.
  3. How can people be so f-ing stupid. This boils my blood. How does anyone think they should be able to impose on my life when all they have to do is just put up a stupid ass sign. I guess they would all rather have a bunch of illegal guns in the establishments with no legal guns to counter act it. What a bunch of dumbasses.
  4. I love 10/22s. Your posts show one reason why they are cool. You can make them into whatever you want. Nice rifles.
  5. Got a new carry piece I have tried out the last couple of days. A Taurus 856 Stainless in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster. I think I like the gun, but I do not like the holster arrangement. I think I will get a belt holster; either pancake style or maybe sob.
  6. That would be awesome. They are not really trying to hunt. It is just as he says in the video, "hog control." These animals are some of the most destructive and proliferative animals around. Many of them do need to be slaughtered.
  7. I agree with oldogy. If I own something, there will be a bit of a fight to take it. I have a hard enough time paying taxes with money that I earn, and lawmakers spend it freely with seemingly no concern for where it came from.
  8. I have delt with a guy outside Cleveland that was good to deal with. I am not sure if he carries the type of stuff you are interested in, but you might want to check him out. www.silversfirearms.com He was a pretty small shop, but I think he might have been expanding a little recently. Anyway, good guy to deal with, give him a shout.

    Need a lil info

Cherokee Grill is good. I believe it is the Prospector Steak that I like. The Pedler (sp?) is supposed to be good, but I have not been. I know it is a little pricey. I have been there several times, and I do know the cops can be a little testy. I can understand why when dealing with all the people, but I think they may question you for open carry. I always carry concealed, and I have never had any problems there or ran into any postings that I can think of right off hand. If you like tobacco products, stop be the Gatlinburlier Tobacco shop in the mall. I like to sample the chew. By the way, Ye Olde is a pretty good little drive out of Gatlinburg. There used to be a place in Seveirville called Tolby's (sp?) that was great, and it was just off the square. Someone told me it closed, but I do not know for sure. Great place if it is still there.

    First Shotgun

    870. I have three, and love them all. Never had a problem with any of them. I do not think you will be disappointed with an 870. For the price, I do not think I will buy any other pump gun. I had a mossberg and hated it. It has been several years, and it was a 500. It was brand new when I bought it, but I have never felt a sloppier gun. Any other Mossberg I have encountered has been the same. Just my 2 cents.
  11. If you are interested in teaching and not just getting involved, I think it is better to start with single shot or bolt action with iron sights to teach the basics of proper sight picture and trigger control. If this is learned first, there will be a greater appreciation of optics when it comes time for that. Just my opinion. Kinda like learning how to walk before you run.
  12. That is pretty cute man Just kidding. Look at it this way, at least it is not like a matching set of rainbow shoes and purse or something.
  13. I used to play a pretty good bit. Is bear claw still open? I went down there one time right after it opened and never made it back down there. That must have been eight years ago. I spend alot of time out of the state these days, but if there were something going on when I am home, I would be interested.
  14. I really would not worry too much about it. I know people who kill deer all the time with a .22. Obviously this is not legal, but my point is that a well placed shot will get the job done for sure.
  15. WOW! That was amazing. Take another hit darlin'.
  16. Yeah, another case of way too much time on their hands.
  17. Alan Jackson, as mentioned in an earlier post
  18. Drive always gets me now. I used to always think it was a cool song, but my uncle was taken from us way too soon. He has three boys, and I can remember when they were younger, they used to always tell me about when daddy let them drive. They played this song at his funeral, and I just lost it. It is funny how emotions about songs are so influenced by the settings in which they are heard.
  19. Where does your wife work? I am from Tullahoma, just interested in who that irrational.
  20. One thing you might should remember is that often in an HD situation, you do not have anywhere to retreat to. The way I think about my carry weapon is that it is a tool for me to remove myself from the current situation. I am not interested in staying and fighting, I am just looking to get the hell out. However, with HD, I am not looking to go anywhere. If a perp is in my bedroom or blocking the exit from the house, you have to be prepared to stay and fight with hopes that the perp will be the one who will be looking to leave. With that said, I am looking for something that hits very hard, can hold many rds, is easy to reload and operate, and can be effectively used with sleepy in the eyes. I am not an expert by anymeans, but I do not believe there is one ideal weapon for all of this. As with carry guns, what matters is what you will feel most comfortable with. For me, I have a Ruger 345 on the night stand (also my carry gun), a short 870 super mag near the bed, and extra ammo for both. I am also poor, so I do not have any tactical lights and all that cool stuff. I do, however, keep my phone and flashlight on the night stand with the 45. Also remember HD other than guns. You should not have to sleep with a gun under your pillow or anything like that. Remember to secure your position such that you will have time to be fully awake and react to a situation before it is in your face or in your bedroom.
  21. Be sure to oil them lightly before putting them away. I generally put oil on a rag, wipe the gun, then use a different area of the rag to lightly wipe off the extra. This is my typical practice, and it has worked well for me. Good luck
  22. It really does not matter what you personally consider. What makes it legal or illegal is if it is posted. I have not been there in the past few months, but I have carried there several times before. There were no signs upon entry and no pat-down. my advice is just keep it concealed and rock-on, unless of course there are signs on entry.

    Taurus 856

I am thinking about getting one of these guns. I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts about them. I am not too worried about getting a light weight or anything, I just like the idea of a 6 shooter that is not much bigger than the 5 shooter.
  24. I had a p11. It broke, but I guess that is beside the point. I called Kel-Tec about the metal guide rod, and the lady I talked to actually recommended against it. She said something about needing a plastic one that would flex or something. I liked it for a carry gun, but it is just really hard to trust something after it breaks on you while shooting. It sure would be hard to talk somebody out of something when you have already shot at them a couple of times.
