Demos Banning Guns - My Correspondence with owner
creeky replied to HoustonGrey's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Mick, Not only is that a well argued letter, it is also respectful in how you made your points as well to Mr. Demos' opinions. It serves as an excellent example. It's states up front that your not only a patron, but that one that is very familiar with their meals. (Even given praise where praise is warranted.) respectfully disagreeing with someone with facts is the way to win an argument. Granted... at the conclusion of the exchange you may not have made them change their mind, but you have given them something to seriously think about. More respectful conversations like that may have a great impact in the future with Mr. Demos. Well written letters like that show us in a good light. The "PR" war will not be won with us acting like militants for our cause. It only feeds into misconceptions of the gun culture and 2nd amendment community. Bravo! Well done sir! -
I have an OLY lower. My rifle was built before the AWB a long time ago ($35 bucks back then.) Only issue I have is it won't drop an empty mag, I have to pull it out. It will drop a full one. Steel empty Colt 30's will drop though. Other than that, it's given no problems and fits snug to the upper. Be that as it may, I still have thought of replacing the lower or just building another as a SBR and keeping my old one as a beater.

Some info on Huey's Resturant and the Carry Law

Ironically... that logo is accurate. No guns allowed does equal more innocent blood shed. -
Funniest thing I have ever seen in a long while! Freak'n HILARIOUS!!!!

It was nice to meet you Brian!

Dare I... dare I attempt to post this here? After placing my vote to attend tonight, dare I type it as well? Should I be so bold as to stand and shake my (digital) fist in the face of fate? That mocking cruel trickster (--> <--) that has blocked me at every turn in making it to an official TGO gathering! I must! I must! Hey guys. See you there. (Orrrrr will I? Hmmmm...)

Voted... only 21% for.

A recession is when you're neighbor is out of work... A depression is when you're out of work. I have many friends that have been laid off, others hours cut, and others had their pay cut. I personally am under a pay freeze and am personally thankful that it is a freeze and not a cut.

Add kool-aid to help mask the taste. <-- What a great use of an icon! (Also water with iodine will turn powdered potatoes blue, which is pretty neat in it's self.)

I think they called Nikki Goeser a vigilante on page 14...
creeky replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
First off ...it stops short, in my opinion in calling her specifically one, however it is using her situation as an example where self defense would be classified as "vigilantism". It's only accomplishing in establishing the filer's own ignorance in the difference between self defense and vigilantism, or unjustified shootings. Second off ...they spelled vigilante wrong. (Unless that is some weird legal form of spelling.) This is being filed only to help keep it in the papers. That is all. The media needs something to keep this issue alive until July 14th. If July 14th comes and goes with no problems their argument will get weaker by the day. (And I suspect they know it.) Hence the urgency in getting restaurants to put up signs. Then they will say that if they hadn't had "X" number of signs up there would have been "blood in the streets!" or some other nonsense. -
The quart Gatoraide bottle work great. Weigh less than Nalgene, cheap and pretty tough. The threads also attach to my brother-in-laws water filer directly. Not sure about how long water will keep though.

This is a great idea! It more than looks like it would be worth the investment of both time and money. I hate that the economy is so bad right now. There is no way I could attend such a function with these costs. (Though I do think it is worth the money!) Not with things in their current state anyway. Also it would drastically damage my streak of never appearing at a TGO sanctioned event. Thanks for getting stuff like this put together, and I hope you have a huge turn out for it.

Sorry... never occurred to me to search for something like this on here. LOL! Must have missed it when it came through the first time.

Got this in an email today. Completely awesome! This lady is 89 years old, and is still driving her '64 Mercury Comet with the same engine. 540,000 miles! She's adorable. Plus it's soooo cool when the interviewer finds out she has a HCP! LOL!!!! Awesome story. Video of Romancing the Road by Growing Bolder, at growingbolder.com

True... never convicted. However, O.J. Simpson was also found not guilty of murder. He did pay an estimated 12 million to the family of a boy, who then declined to give evidence to the authorities thus ending the case. LINK Then later moves to Bahrain. A place known for (among other things) child sex slaves. LINK Let's also not forget the "dangling the baby off the balcony incident. LINK While this doesn't prove anything legally... as a Dad, I can safely say I wouldn't have wanted this guy anywhere near my kids (or anyone else's). The guy did some great things musically, in the past. Broke new ground. No doubt about it. But to focus solely on past achievements, or pretend the outrageous and at the least strange behavior he conducted later in life seems wrong. If we are going to look back on a guy's life, then let's look at the whole life and acknowledge both the good and bad. Then we'll have a complete picture. Howard Hughes did some incredible things in his life. A pioneer. But to solely focus on his achievements doesn't give us a clearer picture of him. The real him. The extreme OCD, the pain management, the Mormon Mafia, etc. That stuff doesn't define him anymore than his achievements, but it helps explain him. Or at least some of his actions. Sorry... rambling. (*This is covered under the "IMHO Clause" of the Internet Posting Board Argument Resolution Agreement. First pinned by the creator of the internet, Sir Al Gore... in blood, on a waffle house napkin. Which is kept on display in the men's room (under glass) over the urinal at the Clinton Adult Library. (Right next to the ad for Hunter's Custom Automotive.) Must be over 21 to enter.)

My friends and I have talked about the amazing similarities to the two "empires" for quite a while. Even how so called "Blood Sports" like UFC or large event sports are similar to the Gladiator sports in feeding a the hunger of the people as well as a nice diversion from the problems of life.

My son bought an iPod touch and I have been finding free apps for him. I stumbled across this app. Made by "Surefire", it's a simple shot timer. Click Here While it's no replacement for a shot timer, still a neat little thing to have around. Thought I would pass it along if anyone hasn't found it already.
