  1. Ohhh good grief that is soooo FUNNY!!!!
  2. I know just a little about Australia from some friends there. Guns are pretty much a huge NO! You can only have them in gun clubs. They must stay there, if you own property (a farm) you can have a single shot shotgun on premises. You can google for more... but the last major shooting they had there pretty much did away with most gun ownership.
  3. What brand of holster is that?
  4. Although this forum is a great resource for information... I really love all the witty stuff that gets posted the most. LOL!!
  5. I shoot and carry .357 sig. Works for me. Never really had a problem finding ammo, Wal-mart always had it. Georgia Arms Sells Speer 110 gr. Frangible, $60 bucks for 250. (Guns and Leather sells it for the same.) Review of it. Two other things to keep in mind about the .357 sig... 1. Bottle neck design helps in feeding... 2. Chicks REALLY dig guys that shoot the .357 sig:D Seriously though, I like the recoil (USPc). It also punches a really clean hole in paper. Ammo is more expense, can be harder to find, and it is true many law Enforcement agencies have went to it. (Secret Service, Texas Dept. of Safety, Texas Rangers, seems like I read something somewhere about Air Marshals using it but don't quote me.) Mainly you know what your wanting out of it better than us, plus it's your money. Should be noted that although I do like it, I would like to one day get a Glock or M&P in 9mm. So I can have something to shoot that is cheaper.
  6. Yup... Slacked off a whole bunch. Need to get out and get some reloading components but I am hearing those are in short supply as well. We've even canceled our spring Congregational shoot and are just going to have one in the fall. (Give members more time to buy ammo.)
  7. Speer Gold Dots... 125gr. (.357 sig)

    HK P2000

My UPSc has one as well. It;s suppose to help perceived recoil and extend the life of the weapon. I'm unsure just how it would do that... but that is what I have read a while back. (Caught me off guard as well. )
  9. Just got back. Nice meeting you guys, mcurrier (& Brother), Phantom, and Ropin4Gold. We'll have to this again. If the Restaurant Carry passes we can do it there again... if not.. Ohhhh well! There are plenty of other places.
  10. Kind of hoped you might have dropped by... don't worry... we'll still "roast " you anyways!
  11. I liked the old way better. The software is a good idea, but without support they won't be able to address issues and evolve it into something more user friendly.
  12. Hey Phantom... when you get there ask for the "TGO" table, if you beat me there and they don't have one grab one for six. (In case some more can break free.) Unsure if I can get back on the TGO board today, so if anyone needs to hollar at me use my email. (posted it in this thread.) See you guys at noon.
  13. I'll try to get there a tad early, I'll bring a Black ballcap with an HK on it. Should I get a table and put it under "TGO"?
  14. I was pulled over bu my local LEO and didn't have my weapon on me. I told him I did have a HCP but wasn't armed. He was both surprised and very appreciative. Still got a ticket, but we had a nice friendly chat during the exchange. Nice guy. Still says hi when I bump into him around town. (Most LEO I have ran into don't give out tickets... you generally have to do something to earn one. )
  15. Ahem... same as a new firearm... Where... are... the... PICTS!!!
  16. I don't believe anyone is saying that a Fobus Holster is better than a leather one, or a Serpa for that matter. Only that for $20-30 bucks it does exactly what it is designed for. (IMHO) Seems like if you decide a Fobus fits your personal needs you get a little heat from people on here. Some is good natured ribbing... others are a little more pointed at times.
  17. I'm in. I'll edit the original post to reflect the date and time. Monday April 6th 12:00 Noon Famous Dave's Cool (Springs) PM me or email (wecrosscreek [at] gmail [dot] com) me so I will know how many is coming.
  18. With me it was "parking" a $600 Hk in in a Fobus. Yes it does sound silly. But everyone's circumstances are different. A good friend also pointed out to me at work that I kept a pistol that costs more than my car... IN MY CAR! LOL!! (Then I drove a beater and sold it two years later for $250 running.) To be honest, I used teh fobus mainly in the closet, on the range and while driving. When I got out I mexican carried.
  19. That's the key right there. I used one for years. And although I have a Serpa now which I like much better I'm still not throwing the Fobus away. I've seen the "famous" video as well. I don't open carry. I really can't see that as being the norm. Plus I'm always surprised the guy didn't feed the other guy his elbow. For the money and what it is designed to do I think it is fine. You pretty much get what you pay for. Works great for a range holster, etc. As far as retention... I've had mine for years. It is an older one. I can still holster my Hk, turn it upside down and give it a shake and it won't fall out. If I shake it really hard... yeah... it will fall out. (I personally think Fobus gets looked down on from people.)
  20. Famous Daves sounds good to me as well... Monday or Tuesday @ Noon works for me as well.
  21. Me too. My Dad owned a Barber shop and I used to sit around and listen to these guys all day.
  22. Okay... looks like we have a few that might like to grab lunch. Post what day, and time of the week is best for you to grab lunch. Oh yeah... and a couple of places you like to eat at. Me... - Any day is good. (Except Friday... April 10th) - I can break away for lunch most anytime, unless something is on fire. - Anywhere is fine with me. (McD's, CiCi's Pizza, Chinese, Capt. D's, Shoney's, etc. I don't care.) – Get an hour for lunch.
  23. I had an HK sticker on the back glass of my truck for 3 years. It was never broken into. My wife has a "Got Sig" on the back of her truck... same deal. The only thing she has gotten has been smiles, and a few "thumbs up". (It's coming off soon, only because she bought an M&Pc.) I have wore gun T-shirts on vacation, out shopping and have never had any problems, weird looks or anything. The only thing I run into is usually a good conversation about guns. That's about it. Waiting on my wife at the mall an older man struck up a conversation with me because of n HK ballcap I had on. He was a WWII vet and (navy guy in the pacific) we talked for a good while about everything. (And I mean EVERYTHING! Hahaha!) Great guy. Wealth of life experiences.
  24. It could be a "Conservative" detector. I think liberals are wanting them in all the stores. The reason it didn't go off without your handgun is simple. With your handgun in the truck you felt some what out of place... a little confused, perhaps unsure of the world around you. That told the detector's sensors you were a "liberal" and thus didn't go off. I bet if you walked through those same detectors (without your gun) thinking about the Constitution, Sara Palin holding an AR, or the American Flag... and it would go off again. (**Just kidding... I'd never compare you to a liberal.)
  25. Yeah that's mine. Thanks! Not much of a "coder". Looks like we might have enough to grab a lunch somewhere. We could try for a day next week. For a weekend... we could always hit a breakfast somewhere. That way we have the rest of teh day to avoid chores.
