  1. +100 Even if it does blow over, I'd start keeping an eye open for a better job. (Never hurts to keep an eye out.)
  2. Awesome!! I have been there many times! It's a great place. I have hiked the same trail leaving my car at the foot of Gregory ridge, walked up parsons road, then the gregory trail staying the night at sheep pen gap then down Gregory ridge. Also have been the other way, passing Andersons bald. In july-august the bald is FULL of Blueberries!!! You look GREAT by the way! Your weight loss and dedication is a great example for all of us!! I've seen the Azela's in bloom, the bald looks like it is on fire. I hear it's a special type that is only found there.
  3. Is there going to be a Lunch meeting, and a Dinner meeting? <TGO-David: Insert comment about no-show-creeky here>
  4. Whoah! Their like crabs... everywhere!
  5. They forgot to mention they made no attempt to contact the states AG to see if they had documented a sudden rise in shootings in restaurants since their laws were in acted. Oh wait, the facts would damage their agenda. My bad.
  6. I think I got my in '97. Can't remember exactly, I'd have to look through some stuff. I do remember that it was just after the Bond requirement was lifted. But we still had to only carry what we qualified with. (If you wanted to be able to carry a different gun sometimes, the class I took would let you come back and qualify with the other gun for free.) I don't remember a rash of signs going up but do remember seeing one every now and then. It was always something you concealed, and you didn't really talk about much. It may be because before we got the HCP's lots of people were carrying already illegally. (At least in west nashville.) My Dad had quite a few that had guns on them that came into his barber shop. Took me a while before I figured out what was going on. (He used to hold them for some of them while he cut their hair in his backbar.) Bringing the issue to store owners is self defeating in my view. I feel it would server the HCP community better to be polite, frequent the restaurants, then after being there with no problems... then discuss the issue should they bring it up. (IMHO)
  7. I've seen it a couple of times. Looks like Jon has been beaten down pretty good. Slowly... like water torture... a drip at a time. Poor guy. Bet he never saw it happening to him.
  8. Pretty insightful. Picks up pretty good around 2:10... But what is funny is the way everyone drinks the "ISM" Drink. Reminds me of the Obama-Kool-Aid going around now.
  9. I'm one of the many guys on the board that uses a MTAC. love it.
  10. Hahahaha!!! Ohhhh that's good!
  11. You should be fine now... you've built up an immunity now.
  12. BWAHAhahahaha!!! Ohhhhh you gotta love the sweeeet, sweeeeet irony of it all! LOL!!!
  13. NO! ... and am so desperate to attend one, I even resorted to making my own event! LOL!! (Great group of guys who came also! I plan to do it again, schedule has been kind of nuts.)
  14. I will do everything I can to clear my schedule for this. (Typically TGO functions ALWAYS seem to fall when I am out of town!)
  15. I've camped at Mousetail a long time ago, mostly got to Natchez now. Really nice place. Here is a LINK to a thread I started about the range there with pictures.
  16. BWAaaaHAhahaha!!!!
  17. Overall what bother's me most is this is a direct attack on the property owners, and small business owner's rights. Restaurant owners can post their property if they wish to. By going about it this way, the Metro Council is stripping the property owner the ability to allow patrons who have a HCP to bring their weapon with them. Which means they are using an unethical use of procedure to not only deny the HCP holders the ability to carry inside a restaurant... but is stripping the freedom of choice from the business owner. That... seems very heavy handed and weakens any argument that all restaurant owners are truly against this. Right now it is estimated that we will approach 300k HCP holders by the end of the year. (TN pop at roughly 6 mil.) If this holds true, we can expect 5% of the population to have permits by the end of the year, and I don't think it is too far to venture that we could see 8-10% HCP holders in the next two years. Maybe sooner. While not a majority, it is a voting, political active minority. (If you run the numbers of those who actually vote in elections, the argument could be made that the percentage goes way up.) Example: If 4 million people (of the 6 million residents) vote in Tn, and all 300k HCP holders vote our percentage goes up to 7.5 %.
  18. Incredible work!
  19. Is there anything the House/Senate could pass to keep them from attaching "guns" to the Beer permits?
  20. yeah... like it has in the other 36 states that have the same law. Just have to remind the Councilmen that they may face a voter backlash if they decide to go against the will of the people.
  21. Looks easy enough to make though. Really neat idea too.
  22. Your right... that's more David's call. (One I am personally glad he hasn't made yet.)
  23. Rumor has it he was in East Tn before leaving for Thailand and may have "selenium" in his system. I believe they are still testing.
