Yeah, this lady is so wrong in every sense that I just want to shake her. I would post a link, but it is on a third party's wall who I feel bad about arguing with this lady on anyways and even then I'm not sure if the link would work unless you were friends with the third party.

I'm still reeling from the backwards arsed logic that she is throwing out in the second one... "Superiority Complex. (If only we could buy warheads as personal defense!)" I can't even dignify this with a response. "Attackers" use the art of surprise, having a gun will do nothing to prevent this from happening." Yes, because all attackers sneak right up to you and kill you before you can even react. They also don't care about the loud report of a gun or elevating their offense from robbery to murder. "All animals will avoid humans unless provoked/hungry and all humans who are paying attention can see/hear most animals before they get close enough to use a handgun." Animals, unlike attackers, don't have "the art of surprise" and have bells and sirens to warn you when they approach so you can easily flee and outrun them. Also, the provoked and hungry animals don't count, these situations never happen and if they do, it is your fault. Unless a gun owner has as quick of a mind as they do a trigger finger (given they are an expert shot, which is likely not the case) a gun will prove useless to them in any such encounter. Because you have to hit an animal to stop an attack(the sound of a gun cannot scare an animal), it cannot work because people that go through the HCP permit process don't know how to shoot and can't be bothered to go to a range to learn. The only thing a gun (handgun) provides is a false sense of security. Studies prove that an attacker is more likely to use YOUR gun against you than vise versa. Not only will brandishing a gun at an attacker not stop them (nor will shooting them, which you can't do because you aren't an expert shot), but real science shows that they will more than likely just take it from you and kill you. Oh, in response to the "threatened by a criminal", yes I have been. Jumped by three guys walking home from work, didn't make we want to run out an buy a gun, instead I am just more aware of my surroundings." It was so bad that still rely on avoidance and the response time of the police (who I can easily call in such a situation.)

I got into a little dialogue, by accident, with some woman about 2a stuff and was pretty floored by some of the excrement she produced in opposition. As such, I imagined you all would get a kick out of it. Here are a couple of direct quotes, not taken out of context, and this is real stuff from facebook. "What are guns for again? Please say protection so I can laugh! (Kinda reminds me of driving...everyone is aggressive because everyone else is aggresive. If one person would just become defensive, people would begin to relax and realize there isn't a need for aggresion and an aggressive defense is not a defense at all but a power tripping offense!) Explain to me how a christian can own a gun with the intent to shoot someone? (even in self defense?) Turn the other cheek! I remember reading somewhere that 'the meek shall inherit the earth.' I may be wrong, but I don't believe 'the meek' will be gun 'totin'!" Pretty good eh? There's more, and it's better. "Superiority Complex. (If only we could buy warheads as personal defense!) "Attackers" use the art of surprise, having a gun will do nothing to prevent this from happening. All animals will avoid humans unless provoked/hungry and all humans who are paying attention can see/hear most animals before they get close enough to use a handgun.(Unless of course your walking into a national forest with a scoped rifle in which case, YEE HAW!) Unless a gun owner has as quick of a mind as they do a trigger finger (given they are an expert shot, which is likely not the case) a gun will prove useless to them in any such encounter. Churches Chicken smells like hot farts. I'm glad they are posted, because an armed person that mistakenly wandered into one would be tempted to off themselves to escape the horrid stench.

This. The two party system not only creates a humongous complacent majority that basically has their belief system served up to them because they are too lazy to make real decisions, but it also gives 2 candidates per year a financial advantage that leaves most other parties completely unheard of. People are so quick to look for a group to belong to. On top of all of this, this same humongous majority backs candidates over promises for legislation for or against the simplest things (gay marriage, abortion, and other nigh-inconsequential moral legislation) when much greater things are at stake (national security, the Constitution, the ability to protect ourselves, the freedom to not be spied on by the government, etc.) Not that it matters though...don't forget the electoral college.

MAGPUL "EMAGs"?? Anybody played with them?
Kelemvor replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Looks cool, more expensive than Pmags, though. The multi-weapon compatibility is rather nice. One set of loaded mags for multiple rifles. -
INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS ROCKED

I am a very safe driver, thankyouverymuch. I've only had one wreck and it was mild and I was off-roading. I do most of my people watching at intersections. It is good to be able to see if people are looking at what's going on as well, that way you know who to avoid. I also like looking at all the different people that you can see out on the road, but that's a whole different thing.
-
I never said that my pet peeves are all rational. I don't want people looking at me while I'm in my car either, but I sure as hell want to see them. I'm a people watcher.

People with really dark tinted windows. Even though I will get tinted windows when I have a car that I give two craps about, I want to be able to look into people's friggin' windows at them when I drive by. When restaurants put the cheese/veggies/condiments on the bottom of the burger. It's very simple, it goes: bottom bun, burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, other condiments, top bun. People impeding me eating. My wife does this all the time, she always wants a bite of my food and I always give it to her but she takes like 5 minutes to eat it. When I say something and it rhymes. I will normally go out of my way to prevent myself from rhyming when I talk/write. When the covers get pulled up from the foot of the bed and my feet get exposed to the air. People that run red lights so bad that I have to wait, even after my light has turned green, to get through the intersection. Seeing people mowing their lawns. I used to have a bad grass allergy, it has gotten better, but even so, I hate everything about lawns and lawn care. Everything.

Brown Pride is such a stupid name for a gang. So is MS13...reminds me of MST3K.

Those of you who dared to think big... New Firearms Event Coming Soon!

I have them on my AR and they are great. The only drawback is that you can't mount the front sight on a gas block because the heat is too much. Other than that, they are made out of the same impossibly hard magpul polymer that the mags are made from and are very very durable. Popping the sights up is very easy and ambidextrous the springs are strong enough to let the sights serve as small catapults and adjustments are fairly simple. The rear sight has two different apertures, but switching between can take a second if you cut your fingernails really short. Any other more specific questions?

How is Kabar's customer service? I carry a Kershaw folder for my "everyday" knife and their customer service is some of the best I have ever encountered. Also, how good does the steel that Kabar uses hold an edge? I assume that if it can rust, it must be fairly high carbon content... Secondly, does a carry permit have no effect on allowing you to carry a larger knife?

Thanks for the reply Ben. Now, I must clear the air about the Capoeira thing. Just so you guys don't think of me dancing around with a gun in my hand, the Capoeira joke I made was in a completely jocular sense. I definitely see it only as a sport and would never recommend it for any kind of standalone self defense. I do however appreciate that you didn't totally just laugh in my face when you thought that I did. I don't know if I could have been so courteous because that is preeeety funny to me. I was actually trained in Chinese Kenpo for a half dozen years or so. It is pretty similar to Krav Maga in its straightforward brutality and practicality, but we fight in a stance that is almost perpendicular to our opponent. Also, I'm not sure if we have any biting techniques, but there's just about anything else you can imagine.

I own a CMMG M4LEP piston rifle and after having shot it, I can tell you that DGI is nothing compared to piston and you might as well not even buy a gun if you are going direct impingement. Now, on a serious note. I do own a CMMG M4LEP, which is about the most cost effective approach to gas piston rifles, aside from maybe putting a kit on a DPMS, and it is a dream to shoot. I am very impressed with the quality. All of the concerns that you voiced are valid (cost, parts availability, front heaviness) except the lack of free float and pretty much all of the advantages are also valid. It really is up to you. The performance change isn't huge or anything. To me, it's just really neat and really really clean and cool.

You said you were looking for polymer .45's, is there any reason why you haven't looked at an XD? Not that I'm questioning your judgement, I just want to know if there is a glaring deficiency that I am missing. I have kinda been looking at XD's because I like the grip and trigger safeties.

Firstly, at no point did I say, "I am in the special forces and have tons of experience." I was just making the point that there is no way to determine, with any level of accuracy, my weapons experience by the fact that I am 23 years old. I always have the same issue when arguing with "older wiser" folks who assume that because of my age, I am incapable of comprehending the mysteries of the universe. Please, if you are going to argue with me, find another crutch. Pointing my age out is about as pertinent, in almost any debate, as pointing out my astrological sign. Secondly, I'll thank you to not accuse me of insulting military personnel by saying that you do not know whether I am highly trained or not. I am thankful for the men and women that defend my freedom and respect their dedication. Making a comparison by insinuating that I am not "honorable" like they are, or that (even if I had actually made the claim) saying that I am amongst them is a "slap in the face" is an outright attack on my character and I would appreciate that you show me the same courtesy that I show those I debate with and refrain from such childish rhetoric. Lastly, Ben, thank you for your reasonable reply. I would have imagined that you would have had the most reason to be pissed since I was talking about your stance, but you handled it very well. It makes sense to train to benefit the most from your natural stance. I think I would personally train to either make my natural stance more narrow (perhaps with knees bent forward) or condition myself to not be surprised, so that I can act independently of any fight or flight responses. Feel free to explain why you prefer your method if you like. In the meantime, I will probably have to explain to more guys why being 23 doesn't matter to people that have meaningful contributions to a discussion. P.S. I do see how the "Penis Forward" could be beneficial. You could, perhaps, integrate Krav Maga takedowns to your gun work, depending on how well endowed you are.
-
Whoa there, guy, don't get so excited. I'm sure Ben can explain his picture well enough on his own. I just thought the stance looked funny and, of course, there may be a logical explanation as to why Ben is standing that way. To the casual observer, it seems to increase your profile and expose two of the largest arteries in your body. I can't guarantee that you are actually meaning anything when you say "To the 23 year old troll", but while my post was a little trollish (I couldn't hold back the sarcasm) my being 23 years old has nothing to do with anything, and the fact that you even bring up my age is simply argument ad hominem. For all you know, I could be in the special forces and have more experience than anyone on this board. So, please refrain from personal attacks if you will. We all know the bullets don't go exactly where you want every time. So, if you are going to "accidentally" get hit in the leg, wouldn't you want it to go into the top your quad instead of your inner thigh, which could bleed you out in short order? Still, the question still stands, Ben, why are you standing like that?
-
Does your training include the stance that you are using in your profile picture? I've been trying to find out ways that I can expose my femoral arteries more effectively while still maintaining a huge profile.

Wanda Sykes can shove it. I don't have anything against gays, but gay didn't originally mean homosexual in the first place, so who's to say the definition can't change again?

If you really like that upper, I would suggest getting a Noveske barrel put on it.
