The grip on my XDm 9mm is just too long to carry concealed. I tried in a Raven Concealment holster OWB, I wasn't fooling anyone. Try a Springer Precision trigger kit, it made all the difference in the world on the trigger pull.

I prefer ranges with an RSO on duty. I usually drive out to Montgomery County Shooting Complex.

I still need to get a receiver mounted shell carrier and tri-rail for my FN SLP. I've got a VTAC sling on it and a Surefire Scout light waiting for the rail.

Sweet shotgun. I wouldn't mind having one for the coolness factor if they ever come back to reasonable prices ($400.) My FN SLP Mk 1 gets the job done at the moment.

Trigger pull is like any other stock AR. You can put a Geissele or Timney in it if you wish. It takes any standard AR trigger.

I did too, with my Glock 23. Ammo cost wasn't a concern for me, it was only 50 rounds anyway. The Glock 23 still gets carried most of the time, but I have no hesitations about carrying any other reliable handgun that I own.

I was going to recommend the Spyderco Paramilitary myself. I like the size and location of the lock better than the Military. You could go with a Native and save a little money. I don't like the fully serrated blade though.

Why not get a 14.5" barrel with 1.5" pinned muzzle device? You're losing a lot of velocity going to 11.5" and gaining nothing in return. ETA: And no, I wouldn't buy anything from Olympic.

CHMR in Spring Hill, the range formerly used by Owl Hollow Gun Club. CHMR ETA: Sorry, you do need to be a member. Membership is $40/yr. I don't know anywhere else you can shoot outdoors on a Monday though.
