  1. I've had a good friend be down on his luck and sell me a pistol for the same price as he was offered at a pawn shop. Once he got back on his feet, I let him have it back at the same price, well minus the ammo I'd shot. I'd only have reservations if this was someone you don't know. Never handled a 250, but I did shoot one of the first polymer framed Sigs, a 2022 methinks. If it hadn't said SigSauer on it I would never believed it was a Sig. Only Sig I had to compare it to was a P220, only double action trigger pull(non-revolver) that I've ever been accurate with. I suspect the difference between this Sig and the budget model will be night and day.

    Taurus M380

I've known more than one gentleman who carried a S&W "lemon-squeezer" chambered for 38 S&W. Both politely reminded me to pick up any ammo I ran across and they'd make it worth my while. Both of these men are veterans and own more than one safe. Being a former gun magazine junkie I tried to (politely) explain to them how inferior the caliber was, they politely listened and disregarded anything I said. I will say that both can whip their lemon-squeezers out of a front pants pocket, neither use pocket holsters, and fire 2 shots before I could get one off using my J-frame. They also wear "tighter" fitting pants with smaller pockets. Maybe the smaller cylinder helps...
  3. The 22LR version has caught my eye more than once, congrats on the pistol and being married to your shooting buddy:)

    Didn't know that. Thanks Patton

    Bcm bcg auto...help

I'll have to concur, in the AR world, you get what you pay for. However, even my elcheapo first AR would run, with proper dedicated cleaning.

    Saiga .223 conversion

Looks awesome, my jealousy starts at your dimpled receiver and only gets worse towards the front. Thanks for posting, especially about the FSB, always read that you had to have a press, you did stress how difficult it was, but methinks what my next project will be.. Great Job, Kevin P.S. How's she shoot?

    Buying and Trading

Sucks I know, BUT keep your pistol trading in-state. Better safe than sorry.
  8. Actually I've reconsidered what "Iconic" means. LUGER GLOCK BERETTA These are the 3 9mm's that the vast majority of people recognize, somehow the Browning Hi-Power, while adopted by many nation's armies, just doesn't have that icon status here in the US. And I'm at the point now that I don't care what other nations think.
  9. Very cool guys! I'll be following this thread to see how much abuse that fine blade can take. Great pics.
  10. Although I've made the decision to only buy new American Made firearms, I'd recommend a G22. Police trade-ins are priced low, and I'm fairly certain it is the most common law enforcement caliber&pistol. Glock 40's pack the most rounds in the smallest package, although not my preference, the G23 I owned was reliable and accurate.
  11. I am going to reassemble and load up some magazines when I get home. Somehow I thought a magazine spring was only at rest when fully extended. I'd also "almost" swear that I'd read an article in GunsAndAmmo years ago that said it was best to not fully load Glock magazines for extended periods of time. But if Gordon says so, that's good enough for me. FWIW I've only had one magazine that was left loaded for years malfunction. First Gen 30 round Pmag, and as I only have one AR, I haven't confirmed it with other rifles yet.
  12. The question was what would I choose? And why? I would choose the Remington R1. Why? Because I am 1911-less and even though last time I owned one it ruined my accuracy with my other pistols, I still want an American Made 1911. I also already have 45ACP FMJ and HP's and only one piston to use them in. Now if I had a purpose for one..... Beretta 92 for suppressor host. G37 if I had won a pallet of 45GAP. G17 if this was my last time to buy a pistol before a zombie apocalypse or EOTWAWKI scenario.
  13. After a couple hours of Googling, I realize how extremely misinformed I am. UAW's senior leadership deserve to be fired. I'll post again after I sort through this whole mess, and maybe even do it intelligently, Kevin
  14. GM posted record profits (and dividends to it's shareholders) before the price of gas shot through the roof. Not the UAW's fault that GM put all of it's eggs in one basket and distributed quarterly profits to shareholders when it should have been focusing on it's whole lineup. Did the shareholder's give back their dividends or loan GM money? NOPE Did the UAW agree to work for substantially less money and benefits? YES For the record I own 2 vehicles. A 2000 Ford Excursion 4WD XLT, with more Made In Mexico cast metal parts and wiring harnesses than I thought before I started repairing it. And a 1982 Chevy S-10 with 100% Made In America by Americans using 100% American materials. It's a project for my 13 year old son and I. He ccouldn't understand how a S&W knife could be made in China, and is now obsessed with only buying American products. An 1982 S-10 was the best I could find with my 3 figure budget. Before bashing unions we should all Google things like 8 hour workday and 40 hour workweek. See where they originated from. Union = Blue Collar Middle Class. To quote Ronald Reagan from 1980 "When free unions and collective bargaining are forbidden, freedom is lost." Bet most people are unaware that President Reagan was President of his union before President of the United States of America.....
  15. The UAW took major wage and benefit reductions in order for GM to survive. "Union" workers are the middle class. GOOGLE 8 hour workday or 40 hour workweek and see where these taken-for-granted standards originated. Before the "Bailout" GM posted record profits for years selling SUV's, of course these profits resulted in dividends for their shareholders. Do the shareholders give GM money when they need it? NOPE. Do the middleclass bluecollar UAW accept lower wages and benefits? YES Me, I drive a 2000 Ford Excursion, "Made In Mexico" is what you'll see if you crawl under it in several locations. Also have a 1982 Chevy S-10 that I'm working on for my 13 year old son. 100% Made In America by Americans using American materials. UNION = Middle Class Blue Collar Jobs Or believe what your leaders tell you.......
  16. My Mossberg with 3"Magnum Slugs is my recoil limit. Did you get to shoot it? If so, from which position? Recoil? If not, still supercool

    AR Pistol is finished!

When I first started shooting rifles, I would put foam earplugs in first and then snug my el cheap muffs over them. Now I do the same for new shooters. I've seen the blast from a 16" .223 knock peoples loose stuff off the bench beside me at Prentice Cooper. CAN'T imagine what an 11" barrel does:) Sounds(nopunintended) like alot of fun...
  18. Why all the love? Many reasons but I'll propose one you haven't heard yet but I'm willing to bet has been told to someone's honey before their suppressor purchas Imagine what would happen to the value of current suppressors if a law regulating suppressors, similar to the 1986 law about machineguns, was passed. $5000 (I'm guessing) for a Mac10 MSG? Im guessing that after a decade the staring price for getting into a suppressor would be the same. Sounds crazy, but who wouldn't go back in time to the early 80's and buy as many MG's as possible?
