  1. It's good to hear that. I've been struggling with keeping it for the same type trade. What makes you regret it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have the .40. Good gun. Same weight as the Glocks that I carry but half the capacity. Mine is NOT an SAS. When I carry IWB the hammer rubs my skin. I would recommend getting the sweat shield on a holster to completely guard against the hammer area. Very consistent. I shoot most accurately with that gun than my others. 3. I would still recommend this gun. Pocket pistol do tend to have issues with long length ammo. Just make sure you function check before you carry. Some ammo doesn't digest well in pocket guns...sometimes in any gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was at the factory about two weeks ago with a friend getting his 42 NS installed. They swapped out his mags. He has "03" mags on the back lower now. This designates that the polymer coating on the feed lips has a lesser diameter because there were intermittent complaints about the slide getting stuck according to the armorer. Most don't have that particular issue, but he updated the mags n/c anyway. My wife's has "02" with no issues. An issue I experienced and have since corrected is have the slide stop engage while shooting. I was reloading the COAL to SAAMI spec, but through reading came to find out that it was still too long. I shorted the COAL and problem solved. Maybe factory ammo is too long as well? Could be that the projectile is barely bumping the slide stop and engaging it. I found .97" works. 7. Have a friend looking to get engraving done on a Sig Sauer 1911 Tac Ops (full size). Wants to have the slide engraved with text and the stock grips done with a logo. Any ideas who can do this around the Chattanooga area? Hope I have the right forum. Thanks in advance!
  8. Sorry. Haven't been on in several days. You do need the specific salt. You can look up how to make it online or Academy or an outdoor vendor may have it if they have long storage food products.
  9. Have a friend that uses this and has knocked over a lot of deer with it out of an AR platform.
  10. Nope. It's what I use and you don't need to.
  11. This is what I use! Funny to see it here. I don't use the liquid smoke. Instead I smoke it for several hours. It's really good and actually healthy.
  12. Man, I've had that happen from birds. Flocks of starling land in the trees around then get pelted.
  13. Got a doe this morning. De-boned it and have the rest in the Yeti so it can be trimmed and ground later on. I have NEVER seen this amount of fat and tallow on a deer. Wondering if it's an indication of a bad winter coming and they're fattening up against it?
  14. where are you from?
  15. Those are light projectiles in .380-.45.
  16. I have a Sig and Glock chambered in .40. Both seem to expand more when I load 231 than when I load Power Pistol. That's the only difference I see. I have a Gen 3 G22 that hasn't bulged a case in the few hundred rounds I have run through it with plated 180gr. I read a lot about the chamber support, and fact or fiction, the truth you can find evidence for is that the feed ramp was moved to the back of the chamber in the Gen 3 models. This seems to be the consensus to have stopped the unsupported chamber.
  17. I'm formerly from NY, too. It's weird. The longer I'm away from that place, the harder it is to imagine how I lived there.
  18. It'll be helpful for people hunting over 400 yards. I guess that negates hunting in TN for the most part. They also mentioned using a hunting round as a match bullet, yet they now have ELD-X and ELD match. Sounded like it was going to be ONE projectile.
  19. I shoot more now that I reload. Loading is done on my single stage press and it's kind of ridiculous to see how easy and fast 50 rounds churns out and you didn't pay retail for it...and again, that's just on a single stage.
  20. I am a leather worker and holster maker. In depth study of this contradicts it being done to a higher level. Please google the subject. It is not an opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That is not the case. Top grain has been sanded and fillers added to it. Full grain is as it was taken off the animal. If heavy work was done to the top grain, it will eventually reveal itself. It doesn't tool or take dye as well and will eventually come to light.
  22. They use top grain. Full grain is going to look and hold up better in the long run.
  23. Big point to consider is that you need to consider future acquisitions. When looking for mine, the dealer said that a lot of people returned for a bigger safe within a year. As mentioned above, the right one can be passed down for generations. That would be the case if it was big enough to be useful! Buying another soon down the road can possibly be more expensive than the right one now.
