Have you ever seen that law enforced? The thing that gets me is these idiotic drivers having to pass me and immediately get in front of me using no turn signal. Had an old fart pass me in Tullahoma today( not that i was in any hurry or that he was bothering me) but when i leave a space in front of me ( the 10 ft per 10 miles per hour ) please signal before getting into that space( especially when pulling a trailer). That gives me ample time to brake or react in case the driver in front of me has to stop for something.

Any of you guys familiar with detail shop capabilities?

What about a decal on the window. My friend Holly bought a truck from the company that laid her off( got a great deal) and they had their logo on the back window. She took it off and even there was some residue, goof off took that off and now she can still see the image in the light or when someone shines headlights on her back glass. How do you get rid of that? -
Realize this thread is old. I get it. As a cyclist( mind you, I do not ride the roads that often), but when I do, I stay as far to the right as possible and use hand signals when turning or stopping, even waving cars by when it is safe to pass. Have had my share of stuff thrown at me and people yelling obsceneties at me when i used to ride between Shelbyville and Tullahoma. Haven't rode the main roads in a long time, Probably after sitting at a desk that was the main reason why i got out of shape. But even when Icome across cyclists on the road( while driving my 4x4 suv) i still give them the right of way, a few seconds or maybe a couple minutes of me being stuck behind them isn't going to hurt. I'll pass when it is safe to pass. Once you're a cyclist in either on or off-road you understand a bit more than the average non cyclist. And yes, when i do bike( off-road) I carry my 9mm just in case. For those of you who are busy whining about us cyclists and how you don't understand why there are some cyclists who treat the road as their personal road,Please understand there are more drivers who act like they own the roads. And for those who think bicyclists need to be tagged and pay some more kind of tax, you are dead wrong on that. Most cyclists are drivers as well, and may decide to ride on nicer days instead of using the fuel they also paid taxes on that funds the roads we all use. You wanting to tag my bicycle is like the government wanting you to register your guns. It's all a form of control. Next time you witness a cyclist breaking the law of the road, get a description of the bike, rider and where it happened and call the police. Better yet if you could video it, that would be better. Tagging will not work, when you can't account for the number of bikes on the roads and trails. Just like registering guns won't work.

I guess, they have to thank the lord you are not in charge. Might be a little harsh, but most inmates in jail are there for minor offenses. I think they should at least get a mattress. Now the cold hard murderers, rapists and sexual offenders should be executed immediately after conviction. Or at least locked up in the deepest darkest hole under the prisons. No chance for parole, no chance of ever escaping. If they would televise executions, it would show the next generation of criminals what happens when they kill and rape. Problem with today's society is these libs are to scared of making an example, they lack the cojones needed to prevent future lethal criminals. The drug offenders need help and rehabilitation, personal use offenders, Please, they only hurt themselves. It's the dealers who need time behind bars. If the law would only punish those who hurt others and "victim" crimes, maybe we wouldn't see so much overcrowding of the Prison systems.
-
The justice system we have is full of corruption and it's a never ending cycle for some. This country has the most populated prisons and largely due to the drug laws out there. Not a perfect system, but it is what we have at the moment. Til things change with the management of the prison systems ( by contractors), you can bet stuff like that will keep on going on. Sure it will slow down a bit here and there but til someone actually puts their foot down, it won't stop. Who do you think gets these prisoners their cell-phones inside? It might just be some of the guards. In otherwords, keep everyone accountable, smuggling anything into a prison there shouldn't be a slap on the wrist but swift and immediate punishment( fire them, hire new ones). I think the TSA needs to do the screening of everyone coming into these prisons, even the bodyscanners. Make it so nobody is immune to the screening process to get in the prisons.

Agree with Garufa. I'm not going to get mad at someone trying to help someone else out but these people who buy just to jack up the prices when they resell I don't get. I know we live in a capitalistic system, but Jeez, stop whining when there is a 1-3 box limit. One of the reasons why i stopped buying ammo. Today I traded even with a friend on here, 3 boxes of my Green-tipped ammo for 3 boxes of reguar remington .223. Helping my friend out since he only had plinking ammo. Gunbot has it's plusses and minuses, though I agree, someone needs to hack it and shut it down. As for the ammo sales at wal-mart, I think they should give everyone who is in line a number, if they draw your number you get to buy, if not, better luck next time. Maybe a bit of keeping these resellers on edge will counter their everyday screwing the rest of us out of a chance at ammo.
-
Think I would get photos and if possible the photos of their vehicles. Of the crybaby resellers. They complain to you or make a big deal of it tell them to go home cry to someone else. I hope these resellers who are taking advantage of this market get stuck with what all they buy and cannot unload it for more than they paid for. Now if i was to come across a good deal I would get ammo for my friends, not to resell but to help them since they cant seem to find any ammo either. I could make a lot of money selling some of my ammo, but then i wouldn't have anything to shoot when it came to it. A gun is nothing but an expensive paperweight without ammo.

If you use the right grinding stone and do not use a high speed. Take your time, do not rush it. You could do it on a junk blade, but on a blade you need a reliable edge on I would advise not using a dremel. I use a Dremel with a mower blade sharpener on machetes and mower blades only. For a regular pocket knife, use a whetstone or a diamond ( smith's is good) kit. Be sure you use the oil in the kit on the stone to help lubricate the sharpening stones. Also use a leather belt for finishing. Friend uses one and it is a huge difference compared to just sharpening.

Not much for Troy built trimmers( when i worked for lowe's they were brought backall the time). Went to Home Depot when i first moved to Fayetteville, Bought a Ryobi trimer. Never had a problem. Still starts after the first pull. Will probably bring it home with me when i move out before end of summer. Great Trimmer.

Dave hit the nail onthe head. You can buy it in Lynchburg, but only in special commemorative "Expensive" bottles. Moore co (Jack Daniels) is a dry county, but you can buy beer, just not hard liquor unless it is in one of those "special" bottles. I get enough whiff of it when i pass thru and on certian days you can smell the mash in parts of Tullahoma.

Asked once by a local kid "Are you a cop?" Told him "No, just legally armed". Next asked by the kid "Can I shoot it?" "No, wait till you're older and you ask your dad if you can shoot his".

We have a few "know it alls" here I see. Listen. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, just the possibility of it happening here is very small. Maybe a million or more to one. Any fugitive looking for shelter is going to look for the easiest and least resistance way in. Or move on to a less time consuming spent place to hide. Lock my doors up tight and my dad does it overkill. Any fugitive hurt in a gjn battle with cops isn't going to have time or be thinking straight to try to break in someplace and not leave a trail or any indication he was there to the homeowner or those looking for him. And if someone armed and bloody came to the door, I'd call 911 and let the police know about it.
-
Thankfully there wouldn't be a situation like that in the area where I live or am going to live. I have no desire to live where just anyone can get inside my home without my knowledge. In other words a suspect fugitive is not going to get in, period. And those searching have no right to search without a warrant. They can get a warrant, I won't be happy but they would have to get a warrant before I would let them in. I have nothing to hide but they plant things all the time.
-
Wouldn't answer the door. You don't have to answer the door for them. What would they do, break the door down. Then face a lawsuit by the owners? I feel if I have done nothing wrong and haven't harbored a fugitive, they should have no right to search my house. In other words leave me be. I'd offer to help search but my house is off limits. Nothing to hide but the principle of the matter is at stake.

I hear ya Sour Kraut. I pull trailers too( not big horse trailers) but my atv trailer. I am not responsible if the person who is following to close when I have to brake unexpectedly because the idiot cuts in front of me. Just drive like it is every other day and if they get mad, let them get mad. No sense in dropping to their level. Not worth an accident or confrontation. I'm tired of being nice too, Been nice and been taken advantage of so, I still am nice, just not nice enough to pull over and let them pass. When they tailgate me or try to start something, I just slow down more. Being in a hurry can kill, but going so slow sometimes causes accidents as well.

I was at wal-mart the other night and it looks like things are slowly becomming normal. Like pre-election days. No .22, .223, 9mm or 40 cal. But I did see .38 ammo( which i havent seen in a long time). This was 2 nights ago, could have changed since then. But i took a photo. Iknow wal-mart hates having empty shelves.

Welcome Mike. He's my friend from CT, Actually met him on the can-am forum and found out we share guns as interests as well. I know he's itching to get out of the overbearing state of CT.

I was meaning driving in TN. GA drivers pass going 85-90 all the time. But i guess they are in a hurry there. I do have a few pet peeves about some drivers though. One is when cars pass me, only to pull in front of me, slow down and have to make a left turn. When people "hog" the passing lane going the speed limit or slower. ( I guess they think the fast lane is their own private lane). And when these semi truck drivers hog both lanes on the interstate, going the same speed and won't let you pass. None of this is worth getting angry over but it sure makes me wonder what is going thru their minds( if they even have one).

Definately haven't had a problem with bicyclists. Or tractors for that much either. As a bicyclist ( mountianbiker, I don't do the spandex road riding thing). But I have encountered more rude drivers than rude Bicyclists. (maybe because there are more cars on the road than bikes. Least here inTennessee.) If people would slow down and plan ahead, maybethey wouldn't get upsetas much. But living in a fast paced world, everyone is in a hurry. I believethe speed limitis 70 on the interstate, I may go 75 then getpassed byGeorgia license plates going about 90. What's up with GA?

Walking dead withdrawals. But I watched this show Defiance, thought it ok. Wanted to watch Revolution but due to the Media hype about a terrorist attack in Boston, show is moved to next monday. Nothing against the Boston coverage, just they are going to run it into the dirt. I wouldn't waste my time with the videogame Defiance, It looks like a waste. But if youre into the WOW or Diablo 3, or star wars universe, it might be an ok game. From the first looks of it, I'll pass though.

From what i've gathered on the news. They have not released any info on any suspect or the cause of these explosions. They do know this is a terrorist act but do not know if it is domestic or foreign. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on these acts until all the facts are presented by those investigating. I for one will not believe anything the media says until i hear the final sayings from the investigators. After Newtown and events beforehand, we know not to trust the media until the facts are presented.

If you use regular pellets the sound is quieter. But use that high velocity PBA or supersonic ammo and it cracks like a 22lr. I have a .177 Bone collector Gamo air rifle and it shoots pretty well. A lot cheaper than shooting my .22lr or my AR. But ammo is cheap. think i paid $14 for 1000 pellets( non PBA) at Dunhams. Thing is the ammo is sold about everywhere and you don't have a limit or have to wait in line.

That was the Chevy Volt. Costs more than $40,000.

It probably is evaporation. Beings these zippos aren't airtight. Mine does the same thing. I have drawn a conclusion it is not practical in an emergency situation. And I don't smoke, just have one for emergencies.. Now that has been proven it wasn't just mine evaporating, I'll have to look into something else.

I'm not much fan of Bumble bees. They don't bother me. Red wasps on the other hand are the devil. I hate those suckers. Haven't had a swarm of bees or carpenterbees before but friend of mine i used to work with has. He finally got so fed up with the darn things he put some sort of bee killer solution in the holes they was drilling. Not seen one since. Thing about a badminton racket, they usually come in a set of 4 so when the strings get bad in one, you have spares. Tennis rackets are fine, just the badminton racket i think is quieter.
