  1. They have quite a bit in stock. I would recommend that you do your homework on what you're interested in before you go. Their asking prices are usually pretty high. They have always given me good deals though, you just gotta mention what other people are selling the same item for and they will be competitive. Do your homework before and you'll be fine.

The rounds eject out the front? I gotta see this for myself!
  3. Most everything from FN is POR, or price on request. At least that's what my local store tells me when I call about FN goodies.
  4. Ha ha....I'm sure the great pusher will take care of you on them. Guns should be buy one get one free for you by now...lol Bud's doesn't show any in stock but they have a price showing of $2,502.00

Cough...cough...I'm coming tomorrow, so do I get first crack at her? I was there when Desert Rat picked it up, she looks mean with the glass she's sporting after a stop at the pusher's other store. I was pretty jealous of the RFB until DesertRat decided he also wanted a Socom 16 that day....then I didn't know which .308 I liked better...lol Looking forward to punching some targets tomorrow.
  6. That will suck if they are FNAR mags.....$65-$75 is crazy...I know because I just bought an FNAR...lol. I sure hope Magpul's fit as they are only $18-$20. FN is all about proprietary mags for some reason. Are they afraid people might stick a well made, affordable aftermarket mag in their gun and actually enjoy the firearm more because of it. Thank goodness Magpuls work in the SCAR 16. Either way I can't wait to shoot Desert Rat's when it comes in later this month. I love my SCAR 16, can't wait to see what the .308 is like. I'm not exactly sure what Desert Rat paid for his but it's better than the $2800 price. I think it was about $2600, but I'm not 100%, you'll have to ask him. I can't believe the bids are over $2900 already on the Gunbroker ad. I'm sure they will be low stock for a little while, but not like when the first SCAR's were on the market a couple years ago. I guess if money is no object and you want one you'll pay the cheddar, however if shops like where Desert Rat ordered his can get them, then any store should be able to if they have good connections.
  7. Everyday is a sale at TCGD! Someone please get a picture of Ramsey holding an AR15, get it autographed, frame it, and put it on the wall at TCGD....it will be like when restaurants put pictures of star guests up on thier walls.
  8. Cool, that's great. I wish I was closer; I'd love to come.
  9. I'm blown away...lol How could someone read those words and feel good about what they just wrote and encourage support of Obama? What is so good about the left wing agenda? I just can't wrap my mind around how someone could feel in their heart that the left wing policies are the best thing for this country. Although I can't understand gay marriage either, so maybe I'm wierd, who knows... Nothing Obama has done has worked, if not simply failed miserably. The country does not support him, nor his policies. He's stealing from the majority to help the minority and that minority will not be enough to get him re-elected. If he gets re-elected I'd be uterly floored. I don't think Haslem will win he's way too in the middle and I do not believe for a minute that he's going to do what he says he'll do. I see him trying to appease everyone and when the pressures on from Washington he'll crumble and wilt. Tennesseeans are ready for someone who's going to fight the Obama left wingers and I don't think they are willing to accept anything less. It's either Wamp or Ramsey in my opinon.
  10. I have a couple CRKT knives including the minimalist, neckolas, and the M16 Tanto (one of the best edc knives I own). The minimalist is the best little knife I've ever bought. I keep it with my "kitchen" stuff in my camping pack. CRKT makes some very reasonably priced high quality knives. Post some pics of the Pikes Peak!
  11. You can't go wrong with LaRue. If you're willing to not go QD then the Burris PEPR mount is very nice for $80. Not suggesting it's better than the above mentioned, just a dang good mount for the money and should fit most small scopes like the Millet DMS and other 1-4 power's. Everything I've owned from GG&G has been fantastic, including their QD mount for my Eotech, so that's probably a fine route as well.
  12. Man you scared me...lol OhShoot's a great guy, met him a couple times at Norris.
  13. Ahh, ok I didn't see that. We'll sign me up for a Desert Eagle then...lol Yeah the S&W 500's are hand cannons, there's no concealing one of those. I thought they made them in short barrels too? I've seen people on TV who live in Alaska that carry them for defense against Bears. Anyway, a 1911 is suppossed to shoot a .45. I wouldn't have it any other way... It's a cool gun I guess, but is only going to appeal to a small crowd of people who have 4k to blow on a hand held rocket launcher. And of course Desert Rat, you might be one of them...lol
  14. Daley's ideas are just rediculus. I read a figure that you are 20 times more likely to be shot and killed in Washington D.C. than you are in Iraq. So the safer place isn't in a U.S. city with a gun ban, it's in the theatre of war where there are islamic extremists with AK-47's. When are these idiots going to get the message that gun control only limits guns in the hands of citizens, the criminals don't care! Not to mention the most important fact that the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS MAY NOT BE INFRINGED!!! People like Daley aren't patriots, they are scum and won't be around too much longer if Obama and his left wing socialists keep up what they're doing. Aside from Healthcare.... Oil spill - Obama has let this drag on intentionally so that it creates a disaster. He wants a disaster so he can push through his cap and trade bill further throwing our economy in the crapper. More control, more taxes. Interesting that his speech about fixing the spill the other week was totally focused on how we need a new energy policy and how we need to get away from foreign dependence on oil...excuse me Obama, wasn't this speech suppossed to be about how we are going to fix the gush of oil in the gulf? Also, a topic that I think only Fox news broadcasted was the goverment's recent push for a ban on drilling, which will force rigs to close and be sold to Brazil. How is this going to help us not buy oil from foreign countries? Oh, maybe it's because his senior advisor owns a 900 million dollar stake in a Brazilian oil company.....hmmm makes you wonder. Oh, and BP just happend to give the biggest campaign donation ever to a presidential candidate to...guess who...Osama. Wonder who is on who's side here. Immigration- Instead of securing the borders, lets implement a national ID card or social security card to all citizens. This card will have an rfid chip and biometric information on it. Ok, so how does that help? How are you going to make sure the illegals that you already can't find are going to not get one? More oppression of the masses to promote the minority. A minority that deserves no legal rights in the first place.
  15. 4k!??? Anyone rather have a Wilson Combat and some money left over for ammo?....lol I'm not seeing anything that would make me want to buy this instead of 3 Kimber's or a Wilson Combat. Ugly grips, finish looks kinda shabby in pics, so imagine what it looks like in person, solid trigger looks like what you would get on a Rock Island Armory.....I'm just not that impressed.
  16. Here's my take... Brown Bear- Loaded slightly hotter than Wolf, a little cleaner burning, will leave laquer in chamber and likely require a good cleaning every 200 rounds or so. As long as you keep running it and don't switch to other ammo (especially brass) before cleaning it will be fine. This used to be my favorite steel ammo round, and worked great in all the DI guns, but my Ruger SR556 won't get through two mags with it before rounds start sticking, Wolf is fine, Tula won't cycle even on setting 3 due to being underpowered as stated below. Wolf- Cheap, great for plinking, should have no trouble shooting it and wear on parts will only be noticed over quite a lot of rounds, like into the thousands. By then the money you have saved will easily pay for a new extractor. Wolf is inherently dirty. This means the gun will require more frequent cleaning, but due to the polymer coating, you won't have issues with laquer build up. I prefer Wolf Military Classic over black box. Tula- Virtually the same as wolf (same manufacturer), but underpowered. Fine in DI guns, but piston guns will not like it. Cheaper, but less accurate and not worth the cost savings over Wolf in my opinon. Brass ammo- Save it for SHTF or when accuracy is necessary. I do have one gun that I only shoot brass ammo through, however I run Wolf in the other and have no regrets. My philosophy is buy brass when you find a good deal on it and stick it in the gun safe. Buy steel to satisfy your .223 itch on the weekends. Aim Surplus and Weidners have Wolf Military Classic for $199.95 a case. All in all, if you're just plinking for fun it's fine to shoot the steel cased ammo. Just don't expect much more than 1.5 MOA. If you're shooting steel ammo, you'll spend more time cleaning the rifle, but don't have to worry about picking up the shells on the ground since you can't reload them . People have argued this topic for years. As many people as you will find that say it's bad for the rifle (likely with no credible proof, then just jump on the bandwagon), you will find the same amount who will tell you it's fine (usually citing the thousands of rounds they have shot of steel ammo with no issues other than more frequent cleaning). Some guns might be picky, but the S&W M&P15 I had a while back ate everything above with no issues. It's one of my favorite DI AR's and I will get another some day.
  17. We'll I'm keeping my SCAR....I'll gladly take the one's they are turning in off their hands if they want..lol I can see how it may not be worth the extra money to our military who for some reason thinks we should give our boys the basics and not the best. The military is so obsessed with the M4 but they've known for a while that it's outdated and not as effective as it once was. The SCAR 17 is more appealing to them because they can engage targets at longer ranges with more destructive capability, something that is needed in Afganistan. I don't blame them for this, the .308 is a much better round than the .223, however the best of both worlds is the 6.8. Sure there are things that I would personally change about the SCAR, but they are minor, and I definately wouldn't hand mine over for an M4.
  18. I've owned a S&W Airweight. I liked it...I didn't like shooting it too much as it was rough on your hand, however it served the purpose. I thought it was the best snubbie out there until I picked up an LCR last week. I forgot how nice it was to be able to carry comfortably all the time...front pocket, back pocket, ankle, it does it all. I sold my S&W because the recoil was so rough on such a small gun that I didn't feel comfortable having it as a carry gun as it made it too difficult to shoot. I'm not a sissy or anything, I love my .45acp guns, it was just the size of the gun with my larger hands that didn't add up. The ruger on the other hand fits like a glove. I am going to shoot it tomorrow, but for now I can say it is much more comfortable in your hand, is noticably lighter, and from what I've heard the polymer frame absorbs more recoil so it's much more pleasant to shoot. It's a very innovative gun in general, and I'd say the biggest improvement in design of the snubbie in many many years. It's no coincidence that Taurus is coming out with a polymer framed revolver later this year...not that I would buy it, but they are making one. I've got some light loaded semi-wad cutters, factory loaded semi-wad cutters, and a box of Remington UMC +P to shoot tomorrow. I have read that you almost can't tell a difference when shooting +P in the Ruger's. I can't fathom this as it is definately not the case in the S&W....lol I'll find out tomorrow and let you know. Contact Tom at Tri-Cities gun depot...he has the LCR's and S&W Airweights on sale through the end of the month for $399!!!! The best price I've ever found them for has been $440. It's worth the drive...trust me I've been up there three times in the last month...lol
  19. I was at the range a couple weeks ago and a guy had a spotting scope / binocular combo with a padded backpack that he got from Gander Mountain. It all came as a "kit". Not the best spotting scope, but it was ok and worth the price he paid ~$100 on sale, I think they are regularly $200. It's hard to find a good quality spotting scope for $200. You'll either have to settle for a cheapo to get you by, or maybe buy some binoculars since you can use those for other things as well. Bass Pro has a Redhead spotting scope that's pretty affordable. All Redhead products have lifetime "bring it back and we'll give you a new one" warranties. If it sucks, you can return it. Good luck!
  20. I love Federal handgun ammo and .308, but I'm with you on the federal .223 from Wally world. The XM-193 is great, but the stuff from Wally World seems to have a 3-5 duds per box. It's not very accurate either. The best "cheap" brass ammo is PMC as stated above. XM193 is 5.56 rated, so you should only shoot it out of a 5.56 AR, but it's pretty good. It runs amazingly in my Ruger SR556.
  21. SWFA has an excellent reputation, however in the price range your looking at your only going to find their cheaper scopes with fixed powers. I have to disagree a little with the post above by Dolomite about Sightmark. I agree with him on all the other brands, however I run Sightmarks on everything I own except for an Eotech on one rifle. I have a couple of thier reflex sights ($45 and they have held up on a 12ga Saiga), a 1.5-5x30 on one rifle, and I've had a couple of the 8.5-25x50's. They are all part of thier triple duty line and have a tactical look and features on them. The 8.5-25x50 is a little overkill for an AR, but for $200 it comes with a mil-dot reticle that's illuminated in green and red, adjustable turrets, etc. The 1.5-5x30 is actually my favorite. It has an amazingly large field of view and is very clear. It's not illuminated, but it shares similar features with the other triple duty scopes. I picked it up for $120. Add a Burris PEPR mount for about $80 and you'll have a fantastic setup for $200.00 Sightmark may be in the price range of a Leapers or NC Star, but the quality, although also made in China, is far better. The 8.5-25x50's have been on .308's and have never had an issue. A lot of the 3 gun guys run Simmons shotgun scopes. They are about $60, but people swear by them religously as the best and only inexpensive scope to buy for an AR for close-medium range shooting. Midway carries some of the Sightmarks and there are coupons on the net right now for $15 off a purchase of $100 or more and $25 off a purchase of $200 or more. Good luck!
  22. If taking over the best healthcare system in the world for no good reason didn't get the people's attention, if taking a stake in our banks because it just "had to be done" didn't get the people's attention, if taking over student loans for no reason at all didn't get the people's attention, if giving a speech about an oil spill and focusing not on fixing the problem, but how we must get away from fossil fuels (a.k.a. cap and trade a sudden "crisis") didn't get the people's attention, then surely suing a state for enforcing a federal law and trying to protect the citizen's of thier state from drug runners and armed illegals will...right? We'll this administration has had my attention for some time now. I'm 100% behind AZ and any other state that want's to get illegals out of thier state and protect their citizens, or enforce any law that supports the rights given by the constitution. I'm wondering if the majority of American's have any idea what this administration has in mind with regards to "CHANGE". I could sense it during the campaign. If they haven't opened their eyes yet and sifted through the b.s. then this country is going to only survive as we know it because of true Patriots like many of us here on TGO who will be willing and able to stand up to this oppression and will likely have to exercise our 2nd amendment to do so. The state's are going to start rallying behind AZ soon....at least I hope so. As for the law suit...there are no grounds for it, it won't likely be sucessful. It is political posturing and nothing more. Despite your position on illegal immigration, this lawsuit and the federal governments actions could have a much larger impact on our individual freedoms than many people might think. My position in a nutshell... "If this administration is able to overturn the AZ law, then it will show that they will be able to overturn any state law that they should desire to object to. This is a monumental situation in AZ, and if this law is repealed as a result of the federal government's lawsuit or other tactics, it will have grave, long-term effects on the state's abilities to protect their citizens from this and any future tyrannical government."
  23. I've got Truglo TFO sights on my XD-9....I love em' Not sure if you have looked at them, but they are great.
