1. Vistar,  I was in Academy Sports yesterday and they had 50rd boxes of 9mm from $10 to $16 depending on brand.  I think the $10 box was Blazer steel case.
2. I have a Gerber Model 425 I got from my uncle. From my limited research it appears to be the presentation model. I figure it is from the 70's. Does anybody have any more info on this model? Are they common, rare, collectable, value? Thanks
3. Looks great.  I am all out of venison.  Looking forward to restocking the freezer and making some chili myself.
4. For hunting purposes you are thinking correct.  For a deer I like to think of a kill area being a 6" circle.  I always sight my rifles in for a point blank range of 250-300yards.  Meaning I do not have to change my hold to hit in the 6" circle.  For you, that means your trajectory can not being any higher of lower than 3" inches.  So going by that chart above, if you sight in at 1.1" high at 50yards your point blank range is just under 300 yards.  That is a good set up for these parts.
5. Now that was an ending! Can't wait for next week.
6. NIce doe!
7. Now, if I only had the money for both...
8. Hope she has a speedy recovery.
9. Thats the exact kind of feedback I was looking for.  Thanks
10. I should have stated that I already have a 458 socom.  I am looking for something cheaper to shoot and hunt with.  I do not reload so the 458 can get a little pricey.   The 300 black out seems like it is really getting popular.  That will probably be the direction I go with this build.   Speaking of the 458.  Here is a slo mo video of my nephew shooting my 458.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZhAW-OSi2c&feature=player_embedded
11. I dont know a lot about ar's so bear with me.  Since this lower can not be used for 308 upper, what other good deer calibers could I turn this lower into.  I know a lot of people hunt deer with the 223 but I prefer a larger round.
12.   Thanks.  That was a good wright up for the Sig.
13. Is an external extractor better, worse or just different?
14. I am looking at getting back into 1911's.  I have owned Kimbers in the past and always been happy with them. Currently I am looking at getting either a used Kimber TLE II or a new Sig.  Both feel great great in my hand.  I just do not know a lot about the Sig 1911's.  For those that have shot both, which do you prefer and why?   Thanks
15. I really like those.
16. Nice job!
17. Nice find.  After enlarging both pics, I think you are correct.  The screw holes, fluting, hammer, it all looks like  a match to me.
18.   I may have misunderstood the article but I thought he braked checked him after he had made the 911 call as a way to stop him.
19. Not call 911 and report the bikers erratic driving?  The article says the bikers surrounded him because he called 911 and reported them to the police.  Not sure how the bikers knew he made the call but that is what the article says.
20. Was in New York.  If that happened here, someone would have probably been shot.
21. No. That is a feature on the 5s.
22. Thanks for the replys.  I made the mistake of shooting someone elses reloads.  I found a couple in my bag and my nephew want to shoot a couple of more times.  That was my mistake.   OS's suggestion worked.  On the second smack the charging handle released and ejected the round.  Everything seems to be fine now.  Loaded and ejected a few rounds and everything seems ok.  Thanks for the help guys.   I was also playing with the slo-mo video feature on my iphone 5s.  Here is a video of my nephew shooting the 458 in slo mo.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZhAW-OSi2c
23. I took my nephew shooting today.  I was letting him shoot my 458 socom.  We had run several rounds thru it with no problems.  Put a fresh mag in, chambered a round, pulled the trigger and it went click.  Now it seems stuck.  The charging handle will not budge.  I can not pull it back to eject the round.  The lower cam off with no problem but the bolt will not retract.   What is my next step?
24. I would look for a used Verona 5xx series.  They made several versions of the same basic gun for different retailers.  They were labeled 501, 502, etc. They are a nice looking and carrying o/u.  I used to have one that I used for quail and skeet.  Wish I had not sold it.
25. Thats really cool.
