  1. I figured that might be the case. Other than that, it's a real clean solution.
  2. That's the down side of 2 point slings, and why I was looking at the Magpul to begin with. Everything else about a 2 point is better. I don't know if I can even shoot left handed without my head exploding
  3. The good news is that a pump action isn't near as tweaky as an autoloader from a manufacturing perspective. It's possible they can pull this off without any recalls.
  4. I know. I just got talked out of it. I may add a buffer tube attachment point later, but am thinking now that a 2 point is going to work better attached close to the butt plate.
  5. From what I've learned in this thread, I'll most likely order a Vicker's sling with DD QD swivels, and upgrade my stock to a Magpul CTR. I'm convinced that 2 point is the way to go. The Vickers appears to be the highest quality sling out there. I guess my MOE stock will go in the pile.
  6. A sling can easily get in the way of something. One of the biggest issues.
  7. Picking a tactical sling is more complicated than picking a wife. That's why I started this thread. I'm sure some folks have a pile of slings next to their pile of holsters. I didn't wanna be that guy. I already have a holster pile EDIT: BTW... have a pretty good pile of ex-wives and such too
  8. Yep, saw that in the video. For comparison...
  9. I have just about been talked out of a single point, so it probably isn't an issue. No reason to learn things the hard way .
  10. Well, except for being a rickety old fart, I guess you're right. The main difference I see between the Vickers and the Viking is how they deal with the excess when the sling is tightened. Score one for the Vickers. The Vickers padded sling looks good too, but doesn't have the quick release like the unpadded one.
  11. That's the thing... If my sling starts biting, I'll go get a beer .
  12. It looks like it's a pump.
  13. So... now i'm leaning heavily toward the Vickers 2 point. The next hurdle is a QD attachment point on the stock. The handguard is easy, but I don't see a good option for the MOE stock. The cleanest solution may be to upgrade to a CTR, which has QD sockets on both sides of the stock. I don't want anything hanging off the rifle when the sling is detached. This...
  14. That's what I was thinking. My rifle isn't that heavy.
  15. From what I've read, they have a padded option for the Vickers as well. In the link David provided, there were some fans of the Magpul 1 point/2 point concept, but not the Magpul sling. That's why I posted that modified Vickers link. Vickers was the consensus by a huge margin. I'll look at the Viking too.
  16. Vickers imitating the Magpul. Could obviously use better hardware. Blue Force Gear Vickers Combat Applications Sling - single point mod - M4Carbine.net Forums
  17. I was already on that forum here... Single-Point -v- Two-Point Slings - M4Carbine.net Forums EDIT: Post #6 has a pic of a Vickers with QD attachment points. That's definately an option. Following your link next.
  18. Yep, already had that figured .
  19. I've seen your rifle. You have the MOE stock as well, correct?
  20. Intentional killings, car accidents, or both?
  21. Some folks don't have the luxury of staying away from areas they frequent. I have had several friends robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight around my office over the years. Nobody knew the thugs. Don't know if they were drug addicts, or plain old thugs. Meth heads are probably scarier on a daily basis. But when they run out, and are forced to do something about it, they get a lot closer to equally dangerous. Cocaine withdrawall is pretty ugly.
  22. Every time I can. Started when I lived in Houston
  23. Yep, I'm still leaning that way. Their RSA looks real good for the second attachment point, especially for my rifle. I think, for simplicity sake, I'll probably just go all Magpul. If the rattle pisses me off, it will be easy enough to move to the Noveske plate and a mod to the sling.
  24. It's not quite stable as bags, but it can be folded and shot with bags. You can still make real good shots without having to lug bags around all the time. I'm still breaking mine in, so the last time it was out, I used a front rest and rear bag. Seems to me, the Harris bipod is more rickety than the monopod.
