The serial number is the easiest way. Look for a taper in the barrel. The later 580 series barrel tapers coming out of the gas block. All older Minis have straight barrels.

I was serious about a similar option for M&P guys. I wouldn't expect a Glock holster to be any less reliable and functional than their pistols. I missed the fact the the OP would be carrying a G19

That Glock holster looks interesting if you carry a Glock. Note that it has less cant, so the gun is pointed away from your ass I wonder if there are similar options for us M&P guys.

I have a couple of these for my bigger pistols. One for a 1911, and one for a CZ P01. IWB is better for concealment, but these work well with a cover garment or jacket. Galco concealable.

That's a little different. If you're the sort that needed to be thumped on the head (and I was), I think it's better to get it over with early. I never had to tangle with any cops.

I can't say that I recall any misuse, not that it didn't happen. I understand how you feel, but our current society is severely lacking in effective ass whippin's IMHO. I had some teachesr that could hit a golf ball 300 yards with a paddle. I was pretty tough in those days, but I still remember some of those licks.

IF you're in a position to draw and shoot. I've actually had a little of the up close training. Move and shoot can be real fast if you have acess to your gun. If it's buried under cover garments, your odds go down. We had a thread about this several months back. If you're forced into places where these types of encounters can happen, accessibility is more important than perfect concealment.
