  1. Great bunch of folks.
  2. Looks like there are several psychotic folks over there. I have an answer... turn the damn stereo down.
  3. That needs to happen a lot more. I would hate to think where I would be without the ass whippin's I got growing up.
  4. 3 1/2" 00 buck huh? I have a box of 3" I'll give you if you let me watch. You gotta shoot all 5 though. BTW... Nice looking scatter gun.
  5. I hope they bring some punctuation this time
  6. Hey guys, Check the linkbacks. Looks like our buddy pontiac_fiero is recruiting some trolls.
  7. Sometimes, it's just better not to ask
  8. An AR can be a lot more accurate, but that doesn't mean they all are. I get real decent accuracy out of my Mini. It may be great accuracy for the right load. Since I've been on a load hunt for my AR anyway, I'm gonna run some of that stuff thru my Mini and see what it really does.
  9. Must have been a special. Most manufacturers protect their dealers, and sell at a higher price.

    My Mistake

If it's on your screen, you own it. Hit print screen (sometimes labeled prt sc) and it put a shot of the screen on the clipboard. Then, just paste it into a program that supports graphics pasting, like Microsoft word
  11. Is it just me, or do we sometimes spend more time worrying about lawyers than we do about bad guys? What's the best bullet to keep me safe from a lawsuit? If I improve the performance of my weapon, is that a sign that I'm a brutal killer? If I shoot a thug in his gold tooth, have my skills been honed to the point that it was unfair to the thug? Should I have warned him that I'm really good at this before I pulled the trigger?
  12. Don't know. Last time I shot lead round nose, I was younger than you . I would think the lead bullets may flatten a little when they hit, especially if they hit something solid.
  13. Slim pickin's out there. Fiocchi has an FMJ listed, but you may have to fire up the drill press if you want hollow points
  14. You can get the revised, lawyered up book here. It's pre- ranch rifle, so if you wanna mount a scope, you'll have to find an older style mount. I THINK it was also built before they changed the ejection angle, so the brass may try to hit the scope on the way out. I also think some of the older mounts may address it by shielding the bottom of the scope. http://www.ruger.com/products/_manuals/mini14-181-186.pdf
  15. The 185 was before any of the accuracy improvements. I think the main thing was a thicker barrel profile. Ruger did a redesign to enhance accuracy with the later 580 series. At some point in the gun's history, they changed the ejection angle and added scope rings. They have also used various rifling twist rates over the years. There's a lot of stuff out there on the various changes since the rifle was introduced. I just can't seem to put my finger on it right now. If you ever want to tighten the accuracy on the 185, a barrel strut is a cheap upgrade. Here are some group pics. The first is the 580 thin barrel. I have the newer tapered barrel. So does Oshoot. 16. 'bout time the Daves have to put up with some of that. Welcome to the Mike world
  17. The sights on an AR15 are 1 1/2" higher than the sights on a Mini. It won't work.
  18. Gun Doc did my trigger. Good guy... Accurizing the Mini14 - Great West Gunsmithing
  19. My mini shoots closer to 1 1/2" with an accu-strut and crappy ammo. I'm gonna run some good stuff thru it when I get a chance and see what it really does.
  20. Pause...
  21. Does it matter if you can "prove" that it's not really a safety feature when you're actually trying to prove my intent as a brutal murderer? Doesn't it only matter that I believe it's a safety feature? Seems like it would only be relevent if the shooter was trying to convince the court that the gun "just went off".
