  1. Just got my renewal DL and HCP both have the dd number and it is different on each.
  2. I went to the MVD on the 16th and paid for my renewal at which time they took a new photo.  I did not have to wait in the normal line for DL.  This was on 10/16/2013.  Got my new card in the mail on 11/02/2013.  If you want your new card faster this is the way to do it.  If  you go via the US mail you will be waiting a lot longer.  Oh yeah I renewed my DL at the same time.  It was totally painless.
  3. Missed that one...we were in Florida.    Hope you do it again.
  4. I just got my renewal notice.  I could fill out form and mail in a check but if I did not get the new HCP by the time mine expired I could not carry.  However if I went to DMV and paid they take a new photo and give you a receipt.  You can continue to carry with the receipt.  I opted to go to  the DMV since I had to renew my DL as well.
  5. Sounds like you are married to my wife  LOL.  She likes the look of a 1911 but she can not rack my LC9.  I got her a small revolver S&W Airweight. Told her if she needs it just aim and keep squeezing the trigger.  Actually she is a pretty darn good shot. It's the recoil the gets her.
  6. Just added a CT laser to my P938.  Haven't gotten to the range yet to see how it works out.  I like the CT over the Sig laser because you do not have to manually turn it on. When you squeeze the grip on comes the laser!
  7. Thanks for the heads up.  I have been considering buying a Shield
  8. Sure do... S&W .357 Revolver Trooper Mode 19-4l circa 1970' - 80'.  Awesome shooter and dead on accurate. I bought it used about 15 yrs ago.
  9. Sorry but I did not catch it.
  10. Delivered to Champion warehouse in Ohio with the walls lined with pot.  Wonder what the fire rating was on  that safe.     http://news.yahoo.com/ohio-man-finds-load-marijuana-stashed-gun-safe-022707095.html
  11. Call the claims department sometime and ask them if it is covered.  Let us know what they say or if your policy gets cancelled.
  12. I have my M&P 40 at hand and my wife has her 20 ga Mossburg pump ready to go.
  13. Sig P938 is my gun of choice.  I also like the feel of my Ruger LC9 but hate the trigger pull on it.  One thing to consider the chances are you will never have to use your carry gun so get something that you will carry because if you ever need it it will be there.
  14.   Now isn't that just like a Democrat!  Do as I say not as I do.
  15. Nice... do you want to sell it?  Just kidding but it  you do.....
  16. Good thing it wasn't loaded  LOL
  17. Looks like they already did~
  18. I am looking for a cope for my AR. Should I go with a Red Dot or an actual scope.  It will not be used for hunting unless the SHTF.  I don't want to put a $1200 scope on a $1200 rifle.  Any suggestions welcome.
  19. Wife's permit came today.... She is Jazzed.
  20. Double tap the body and then go for the head.  If you have extra magazines fire till your empty and reload.  Assuming your life is in danger.
  21. Too old to fight... that's why I carry weapon's.  Hope never to have to use them but better to be prepared than not.
  22. My wife is waiting too.  After two weeks she got a letter form Nashville telling her that the finger prints did not take.  They sent the letter to our address in Nashville... we don't live anywhere near Nashville.  Government idiots!  Had to get new prints done so the wait stars all over again.
  23. My wife wanted a 1911... took her to Gander Mountain because they have a big selection.  She could not rack a 9mm....  gave her my S&W Airweight .38 cal.  It is a good carry gun.
  24. When it comes to guns you get what you pay for.  Best bet is to buy a quality used sub-compact over a cheap new one.
  25. I think the Mossberg 20 ga is the best all around choice. Being 20 ga it can do the job and is much easier for wife or even young adults to handle. I don't believe that a 12 ga is really needed at close range.
