  1. if IL does not support the TN permit then NO DO NOT CARRY THERE. You will need to unload your gun and keep the ammo and weapon separate from each other. Someone else please confirm this.
  2. I go there often. Its NOT posted that I've ever noticed. Though I wouldn't open carry there
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qdb6wC0Iz4
  4. grandma got molested at the airport lol.
  5. I used to go with the ex gf to the victor ashe dog park. One time when I wasn't with her some strange guy showed up and started causing trouble with everyone. He then started a fist fight with one of her friends. The guy then ran to his car saying he was going to get his gun. People at the park scrambled like roaches out of there. When the cops showed up her friend told the cop that it was stupid he could not carry there(he has a HCP) and the cop agreed and basically told him concealed was concealed and that it was better safe than sorry. Take that for what it's worth.
  6. that's a good point also. I could see that happening fairly easy.
  7. What about something to correct off-topic debates. That is quite possibly the most annoying thing that happens here. here is a prime example. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/49868-my-next-home-defense-gun.html
  8. good idea. I still don't know how much it will help stop the posting of bad information but it's a start I guess. We are always going to have a few members on here who are "experts" at everything. I nominate Fallguy and OhShoot SME's of the TCA.
  9. I could possibly go that morning. If the weather is nice. I don't feel like shooting in the cold though so we'll just have to check the weather and see.
  10. welcome, the nice thing about Glocks is the fact that there are a million holsters available for them and a plethora of information about them.
  11. This same thing happened to a friend of my moms. Pretty sure it was the Nashville airport. She forgot her Glock in her purse and TSA found it. She eventually got out of the charges but it cost her dearly $$$$
  12. Love my talon grips! And yes you can remove them if u don't like them.
  13. I hear good things about ameriglo sights. I don't like the meprolights I put on my g19. I added a extended slide release and talon grips to mine. I'd say leave the trigger alon
  14. I carry hollow points in all my guns except for when I had a .380(it was carried with FMJ). The only time I will alternate rounds or carry FMJ is when I'm going hiking or camping and I'm more concerned with wildlife. We WANT expansion but we NEED penetration. just remember opinions are like ass****s, everyone has one.
  15. Once bought a 12 pack of coke and had an unopened and empty can inside. I set it aside to save but my mom threw it away!! Arrrrahhhhhhh!!!
  16. these are the kinds of responses that really get old on TGO. The OP asked a pretty simple question and was just wanting some feedback. Instead of putting him down, why not offer some useful advice? What is so wrong with him questioning when it is appropriate to draw? It's these responses that make it really hard to ask a question on TGO without fear of being belittled or ridiculed. And also why some of our members are not even posting here anymore(aka Bronker)
  17. Really Jamie? You can gather all that just because he asked a simple question? I don't think there is anything wrong with him wondering these things ahead of time. In today's world it's not as simple as we would like. Even when you are in fear for your life, the DA might not see it the same way. Witnesses lie, or it's "your word against his". I don't know why you guys feel the need to put him down just because he's trying to educate himself before getting his permit. I am constantly on different forums reading stories about people who defend themselves while carrying. I don't do it because I'm paranoid but rather to learn from each situation so that I will hopefully know what to do if I'm ever in a similar situation. Dustin, all I can say is that the likelihood of ever having to use your weapon while carrying is pretty slim, but should that time arise you will most likely know without a doubt that it is time to draw, or shoot.
